The pass master in London is no longer Arsenal midfield sensation Aaron Ramsey nor Chelsea's creative force Francesc Fabregas as there is a new man in town - and he means business.

Funnily enough, I said this about him yesterday when talking about the players brought in last season:

Capoue - In the few games last season and so far this season thought he looked good and has a great engine and eye for a pass. Bossed the midfield yesterday and happy to have him if Sandro goes.

Go me. Go Etienne (y)

The overreaction just because we beat QPR 4-0 is just ridiculous.
Capoue now being compared to Fabregas after 2 games gone FFS.

I know, just look at who Chelsea have beat so far!

Though in the long run lets hope Capoue is still high up at the end of the season, cause that's really only time stats mean anything, not 2 gems in to the season

Now injury free he is starting to show his class and potential. Worked really hard in the pre-season games and Poch appears to want him as an automatic starter.
Good news indeed!

Would you rather we won 1 nil and qpr put it a bit more effort in?
Nobody here is comparing Capoue to Fabregas.
We are just glad to have him here.

I'm not complaining about the win just the over the top reactions. Yeah we started well and I rate Capoue but its just two games into the season. Talk of Capoue being a 'pass master' after games against West ham and QPR is ridiculous.

I think what's happening here is people are relieved after last season's debacle.
Im sure we will all come back down to earth sooner or later.
But right now were just basking in a little happiness hoping it never ends.
Nothing wrong with that.

I don't rate his passing highly. He still gives the ball away too cheaply or gives the ball to someone who has a player behind closing down (I imagine the stats would show the pass was completed and possession given away by the receiver of the pass which makes stats like this questionable)

We need Morgan in that role.

You mean the typical overreaction by the media in order to generate traffic for clicks by creating an eye catching headline and a success story?

Nothing new here is there?

If we had beaten Liverpool and Arsenal I could understand it, but we scraped a win against west ham and played well against a woeful QPR side who will probably get relegated.
I don't know why people are on such a high about this but the come down is going to hit them really hard.

This is a massive misconception, good players will take the ball while being closed down.
If you draw the closing down players in, this creates space for others to move into, its called pass and move.

Well, I like seeing our fans getting overexcited and acting like giddy schoolgirls. It certainly beats the negativity and player-hate one often reads on here. Let us have fun while we can!

It's sweet that you're concerned, but why don't you let them worry about their own mental health while you worry about yours? I, for one, won't hear anything negative about the QPR win!

Glad you picked up on this because it's been driving me bloody nuts for... well, since Harry went.
I swear to God if I see a cb passing to someone who is running towards him with a opposition player up his arse so all the guy can do is knock it straight back to him (sometimes even bloody doing it twice) I'll put my foot through the f-ing telly. Kabul does it a lot as well. When your being pressed it just results in a rushed mistake.
It's not just Spurs either. They're all at it and it often causes them problems too. I blame it on this Barca obsession type football of keep possession at all costs even if the more sensible thing to do is clear the bloody thing.
Seriously, Whats da f-in point???? Aaahhhhhh.

Aaannd.... breath lol.
Rant over.

Back to subject.
A dm or a defender completing more passes than a attacking player whose trying to create something is not really surprising is it?

But that 48 passing movement before that goal was simply amazing! rather that than kicking the ball randomly upfield
