So people happy to be going into next season with our current attacking line up?
I completely agree with @danielneeds that solving the CM crisis would effectively give us another attacking player in the form of Dele. Dele's had to drop deep to paper over the cracks in midfield all too often this season. He's done an admirable job of it, but we all know he's at his best when he's free to float around the attacking third and make those darting runs that catch the opposition on its heels.

That being said I'd look to replace Lamela with a player like Brandt or Grealish -- someone who could slot into the attacking midfield of a 4-2-3-1, play at the tip of the diamond in a 4-4-2, or as a No. 8 in a CM3. That'd round out the attack quite nicely IMO.

Actually, we've yet to see how well Dele could do in the ACM role as he's spent the last 2 seasons mostly as an wide attacker of sort. I think his darting runs could be just as effect from an advance midfield role if Eriksen should leave - and there is no way Spurs are getting a "direct replacement". He's got plenty of experience as a midfielder already. He's got the physique, the eye for an pass, the work and's excellent in timing his runs into the box where he's a dangerous header as well.
Should Eriksen leave (and as many have pointed out, I also doubt that Levy will let him run down his contract) I'd put Dele in his role, as Dele already knows the system which is very important in this position to maintain an attacking "flow" (and Dele knows Kane, Son, Winks, Dier, Skipp, Sissoko) and rather go for a pacey, tricky leftie forward, like Leon Bailey or Niclas Pepe (optimistic I know), Yannick Carrasco (questionable attitude), or David Neres.

I got slagged off when I suggested that Lamela could slot into an ACM role (not by you though) and now someone wanna replace him with with centrally based midfielders in Brandt and Grealish  Yes, Brandt used to play out wide but's had a good season - in an under-peforming Leverkusen team - as a centrally based player.
I'd still go for Grealish though, as I think he'd be good in the role of Winks, who's too injury prone to be relied on playing regularly throughout the season.

For the money Palace will want for Zaha, we could get Havertz. No thanks. Big no thanks.

As pointed out before, he's set for Bayen M. anyway. Besides, they're very different players. Leon Bailey, Nicolas Pepe and David Neres are more comparable and would cost even less than Zaha :)

nothing really new except maybe for the very last bit
ali z on eriksen (and toby): He(eriksen) is not Hala for Madrid he wants Barca, am concerned that he will neither sign a deal or get Barca. He and Toby could both still stay it's all up in the air. With Eriksen I really believe it is not about money, Toby is finding out that no club wants to give him what he wanted.

Toby staying would be fantastic, eriksen not bothered so inconsistent this season

De Ligt -70m (only if Toby is sold) Cb

Sell:
Toby - 25m (Toby’s call)
Janssen - 15m
Lamela - 20m
Nkoudou - 10m

TTL - 90m

Net spend: 120m or 75m if Toby stays.

Jovic is set for....Real M.

... but....

Spurs would be lucky to get 10M respectively for Onomah and N'koudou but I hope you're right.

Is he though? Bayer have now made a habit of not selling to them.
And comparable is one thing. Improve the squad and add dimension is another. We don't need Zaha

Yes we should.

A attacking force of Kane, Son, Lucas & Zaha with Dele & (hopefully) Eriksen supplying them would be a top line up.

CM is also needed ??

Are you Ardiles in diguise?

So this would be your line up then:

Lloris
Davinson, Jan, Davies
CM
Dele Eriksen
Lucas
Son Kane Zaha

Sane want to leave ManC .... says the The Sun

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8897293/man-city-jesus-sane-ask-to-leave/

SPANISH media report Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus are just two out of a possible eight players that have asked to leave Manchester City in the summer.

Neither player started in the recent 4-3 win against Tottenham as the Citizens crashed out of the Champions League on away goals.

According to El Chiringuito, there are 'seven or eight' City stars that are seeking a move away from the Etihad at the end of the season.

They sensationally claim that forwards Sane and Jesus are unhappy about their amount of game time this season, with both finding themselves on the bench regularly.

The Brazilian has started just eight Premier League games this season - coming on as a substitute on 18 occasions in the top-flight.

While Sane has been an unused substitute in four out of the last eight Prem games with Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva preferred instead.

The Spanish news outlet report that their request to leave will trigger a response from a number of players in the City squad who are convinced that Pep Guardiola will continue to leave them out.

It has been exclusively revealed that the Spaniard has held a clear-the-air meeting with his side after their hopes of winning a historic quadruple were shattered.

Inconsistent, sure, but when he's at his best, he's our best player. I do wonder too how much his future has been playing on his mind this year, and how much that has contributed to his inconsistency.

Eriksen signing a new contract would be fucking massive for both the team and for his form.

I posted this in the Man City thread but, seeing as this is the wish list thread, I don't see how it hurts in here.

Interesting reading (hopefully true). According to BBC Gossip this morning (via El Chiringuito) states..

German midfielder Leroy Sane, 23, and Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus, 22, are just two out of eight players that have asked to leave Manchester City in the summer.

Obviously probably total nonsense but it does create a nice warm feeling inside to think there may be internal problems there & players are looking to leave.

Is there a player in their entire squad that wouldn't improve ours?

I honestly wouldn't take Mahrez. Not because I don't think he's a good player, I just don't think he would fit us, nor IMO is he what we need. Can't think of anyone else in their best 20 players I'd say that about though. Actually, probably wouldn't take Delph, Otamendi or Kompany either for various reasons.

I think there is going to be a huge game of musical chairs this summer right across Europe, just hope we are not the ones left standing when the music stops
