Am I right in thinking that with the changes to the loan rules there could be a fire sale of Chelsea loanees who are older than 21?

Not sure if these changes were confirmed or not, but any if so they might be desperate enough to sell to us. Anyone know any good prospects?

I think RLC could be a good squad player for us or Tammy Abraham...

Yes it sounds like the details are still being finalised but wouldn’t surprise me if they start selling this summer to avoid a fire sale in 2020. Might at least stop them hoovering up talent just to stop others signing them!

Not really relevant as our top 6 competitors go out and buy senior players. But seeing as you ask City have Foden and sold Brahim for £20m, Chelsea have Hudson-Odoi and a bunch of good players like Mason Mount on loan (the fact they don’t play them is the dysfunctionality of that club not the quality of the players), the goons have Reiss-Nelson out in the Bundesliga and a few actually making their first team, United have a young forward coming through who is according to their fans better than Rashford (think his name is Greenwood), the Spammers have Rice. Liverpool have TAA and Gomez. I’m not an expert on other clubs youth but ours does seem pretty poor.

I understand what you're saying, but you're looking into this way too short term.

Think about the youth players we sold and made money on in recent years (5 years is recent in football)....

Bentaleb (20 - 15m)
Mason (15m)
Townsend (15m)
Pritchard (10m)
Carroll (5m)

60m plus from youth players is very impressive.

This doesn't take into account, Kane (one of the top 3 strikers in the world), Winks (looking to be one of the best CM for England) coming through our youth ranks, who else in the premier league can boast that. We aren't talking about squad fillers here, we are talking mega talents. With KWP likely to have some future at a good level, we hope with us.

Then we have those on the cusp:

Edwards (can't predict his future after his loan)
Onomah - Will likely end up premier league / championship
CCV - Same as above

It goes in waves, we have the young striker Parrott to look forward too and some of our 15/16 people are very excited about.

Players like Kane, Sancho, Hudson, Foden don't come around often. All of these a super talents, we developed ours into one of the best strikers in the world.

City have failed Sancho and aren't doing much with Foden, the odd small game here and there.
Chelsea are failing Hudson.

I can't see how anyone can say we aren't producing at youth level.

2 academy players in first XI and two more on bench. For a team likely to finish third in the league and have reached a CL QF.

When such mediocre players achieve such good results, it’s time to reassess your definition of mediocre.

Why do people still talk about Rabiot? How many times did JJ say there wasn't interest? Pretty sure every English and French outlet has now said we're not interested or we're not signing him as well.

It’s a wish list plus situations can change quickly.

We might not have been interested last window but a change in attitude or improvement can easily change a situation.

I saw mentioned somewhere that it was Hans Vanaken and Brandon Mechele (n)
It's Club Brugge against RC Genk today. Genk is flying high in the league. Two names of Genk rarely mentioned but who should be on our radar are attacking midfielder Trossard and striker Samatta. 28 goals in 36 games if I recall correctly...

If they do start flogging off their players they won't be flogging them off to us.

Think you have that backwards.

I think Sturridge would be a good freebie. And certainly of the quality to be a Kane back-up.

Potentially, but if Llorente keeps it up for the rest of the season, and as a proven winner with a clearly superior mentality to Sturridge, I’m in two minds as to which would offer more. Either/ or would be fine by me.

Dortmund just sold Pulisic for £57m and no doubt see Sancho ahead of him. 2 years ago they sold Dembele for £130m. Net result is that if they were willing to sell it would take at least £60m. If anyone think that Daniel Levy is paying that for a player purchased for £10m 18 months ago then I’d like some of what they are smoking.

There is a way better value out there than Sancho.

Agree that there is better value than Sancho, disagree that there’s no way Levy spends that money so soon after the initial cheaper transfer. Sanchez for £42m a year after casting £5m, and that’s with no ‘HG premium’ and as a non Englishman in a defensive position, far less marketing opportunity or potential resale value.

3 in the first team when you consider that Rose initially joined our academy and, by uefa and fa rules, sounds as homegrown by us.

Exequiel Palacios broke a bone in his leg and is out for 2 months. He's a big time CM prospect for River Plate. Would require some Poch convincing as I think Real Madrid are after him.

He could be out more. They have not decided if he needs an operation or not.

Btw, I think Pedro de la Vega from Lanus could be a good signing for the future. I've seen him in the wishlist, but I don't know who added him

How do you rate Cladio Bravo of Banfield? I quite like him as a possible LB option.

Never seen him play. In fact I had never heard of him until now. Banfield plays against River today, so I'll probably see him
