milivojevic impresses me on the rare occasions I watch palace anyone else think he could be a decent signing seems like a Pochettino type midfield player
Great grafter, but too limited on the ball if we want to to be mixing it with the best.

Isn’t that the type Pochettino likes in that dm role ala Dier and Wanyama?
Solid, grafter, positional strong and move the ball quickly and simply

That's what he wants from his CMs in general I think.

As others have said, Dan James scored a belter today against Brentford. He's going to be a serious player and would be a perfect Poch project.
Leeds thought they had him on deadline day but Swansea refused to answer the phone (Leeds were apparently offering £3m!) The American owners are out to make a quick buck, so I don't think it would take more than 10-15m for him (which in this current climate is peanuts)

As a Welsh Spurs fan, I'd love either James or David Brooks as both have serious potential and haven't reached their ceilings as yet. Working with Poch would be huge for both/either and Wales. Definitely the type of players we should be looking at.
Here is the goal for all the non-Welsh who don’t watch Swansea. Pretty tasty.

Updated list, chaps. As the list is beginning to get larger and coming closer to the 20,000 character limit, I've made a couple of changes. If a player is U21 and homegrown, I've removed the (HG) marking. I've also shortened some of the team names.

One note regarding UEFA homegrown rules: every (HG) marked player on this list would count as 'association-trained' on any CL squad list under UEFA's rules. There are two exceptions: David Button and Gareth Bale would, under UEFA's definitions, count as fully homegrown as they both spent at least 36 months on our books before their 21st birthdays.

I've also removed any players who have confirmed summer moves (Arp, Pavard, etc.), again to conserve space.

Any errors, do let me know. Otherwise, enjoy! :)

EDIT: Updated list further down the thread.

Has anyone mentioned the lad Dendoncker yet?

Looks like a decent, relatively young & gifted player with decent size/build and good attitude.

Poch type of player?

Diawara was an unused substitute for Napoli again despite Hamsik (who I had thought was keeping him out of the team) having left for China.

There were rumblings in the Italian media leading up to the January window that he was unsettled due to a lack of playing time and was looking to leave Napoli. If that continues to be the case for the rest of the season then I'm guessing he'll be available in the summer for a reasonable fee in the £30-35m range.

I'd love to see us go for him as I think he'd provide a lot of what we're missing in midfield and would be realistically attainable.

As one of those annoying fuckers who literally only watches Spurs games. Would you mind enlightening me as to the sort of player he is, what he'd bring to the party & add to the team etc, please?

He's an athletic, powerful DM who's good on the ball and moves it very quickly. Here's a video of his performance in the CL at the Bernabeu as (I believe) a 19-year-old:

He played the same role as Jorginho under Sarri but I think his athletic gifts would make him a much better fit for the Premier League. Massive talent, still young at 21 years old, and potentially available at a Levy-friendly price. He checks all the boxes for me.

Nice one, thanks for that.

Looks extremely bloody calm in possession for a youngster. At round about 1.40 in that clip, he does a lovely little turn & play it of defence, despite having good pressure on him.

I can certainly see why you think he'd work in the PL. And I can certainly see he'd be someone Poch could get quite a lot out of.

Do you think he has the presence on the ball and range of passing to play further up in more of a number 8 role? That’s probably where I would expect us to be more interested - unless we don’t see Wanyama staying fit long-term.

I think he's definitely best suited to the No. 6 role and would slot in at the base of our 4-4-2 diamond or in a 4-3-3. I have doubts as to whether Wanyama will ever rediscover his best form and I think Dier's future should lie at CB, so it's a position I think we need to be looking to strengthen in the transfer market.

Hamsik himself was 3rd choice for the 2 CM roles. They play a narrow 4-4-2 with Zielinski and Callejon playing the wider midfield roles and Allan and Ruiz the preferred option for CM.

I suspect that if Allan or Ruiz were Injured, they could mostly switch Zielinski to CM and and either play Verdi out wide or put Insigne back on LM and play Mertens and Milik up front rather than consistently play Diawara. It makes me wonder if Diawara is a bit of a MOTD player as they sparsely use him.

Seems like a really top pro who works very hard and is a great leader. I like him and think he's a good player, but I'm just not sure if he's quite good enough for us.

I hope we are watching Zaniolo at Roma, would be a tricky get as they only just nabbed him from Inter. But he has all the skills to become a world class AM/CM. His value will go up every season.
