If Eriksen is off to Madrid in the summer, we should be looking at getting Odegaard as part of the deal.

Even if he does't come to be a first team starter, he's still only 20 and has so much natural talent and potential.

Completely wasted being on the books at Madrid.

Saw a report that Rabiot has hired an actual agent. Wonder if thats good news for us or not.

Weston Mckennie I like

But nabil I love
McKennie has loads of potential. Schalke signed him out of Dallas (MLS) academy for free. A lot of cheap talent in those academies. I feel like that's the next market that is going to see an increase in cost to buy players.

Almost certainly bad. Think this Ramsey to Juve deal is going to kick up a lot of stones, and by stones I mean astronomical wages for the sought after players leaving on a free instead of a transfer fee. Rabiot will move to a club that can pay higher wages, the purpose of the agent is to ensure that happens.

Makes me fear that Eriksen just might see his contract out, knowing the fee Levy would command if a club he wanted to play for actually came to the table this summer. If Madrid do indeed intend on going after him, I think the best solution for us would be a swap and fee deal seeing one of Bale/Rodriguez with a slight premium being enough to persuade us to let Eriksen go. The implications of him walking out on a free are just to much for us at this particular time for club, with the Stadium issues and costs we can’t afford for that to happen.

I know your post was about Rabiot and our chances with him, but I just wanted to elaborate on why I think it’s going to be a bad thing for us in terms of both Rabiot and Eriksen.

That deal was fucking insane and will almost certainly come back to bite Juve in the ass. Although they are desperate for midfield help. Still don't think that Ronaldo transfer was a smart move.

Thinking of Toby’s we’ll documented £25m release clause this summer, maybe we should be looking at players of quality with similarly low clauses in their contracts?

There are three players that come mind...

- Lorenzo Pellegrini, Roma’s very talented, two-footed, central midfielder, has a reported £36m release clause. The 22 year old has had an excellent season, being one of only 12 players across the European major leagues to average above 3 key passes per 90mins, and has created the most chances per 90mins in the CL so far.

- Pablo Sarabia has had a career best season this term, with the 26 year old winger contributing 8 goals and 8 assists in 20 starts for Sevilla. He has a reported £16m release clause.

- Pablo Fornals, Villareal’s versatile and very technical 22 year old midfielder has a release clause reportedly ranging from €30-40m.

On a side note, I have absolutely no clue why we don't pursue players with release clauses more often, especially ones with very low fees for their abilities IE Fornals

would people still take Kovacic if he were to become available in the summer?

Yes. He's one of the most press-resistant players and would work with either Winks/Sissoko/Dier.

Lo Celso would be a great signing for us imo.
A CM than can create, can tackle and scores too

He could even be a Eriksen replacement
