Agreed. Lewis is 82. Doesn’t he want to see us win something before he shuffles off this mortal coil? I can only guess he’s not a football fan. He’d rather spend his cash on yachts and art. ☹️

One of those paintings in his yacht could wipe out half of the stadium debt.

Lobotka starting against Real. We've been linked to him quite a few times.

There are no guarantees for sure. However the point im making here is proven quality like 2-3 players who are clearly making it at a higher level. Tielemans went for 22 million to Monaco.. ( seen JJ's comments though on Poch not having been interested), Brooks/Maddison *sp etc. There is quality out there at reasonable prices.

Like Rose said..stop buying players we have to Google. What amazes me is how our own supporters on here are able to spot talent and our scouts cannot.

In the 2017-18 scouting thread i heard of Ndombele, Sander Berge, theres a polish midfielder whose name escapes me now.

With Tielemans one of the rumours coming out of Monaco was work rate, looks like that was wrong, but Poch wants that, and is Tielemans putting in the effort to get a move

Brooks/Maddison I don't know what wages they are on, or whether we actually went in for them, but with both especially if Eriksen was still a possibility of signing a new contract, how do you convince them they will get enough game time. with Brooks he has shone with Bournemouth, but he plays in a wider role.

Maddison had already turned us down to go to Norwich from Coventry and like Brooks knew he wouldn't be 1st name, plus would he of wanted to sign for us after his comments on twitter. there is a chance that both player might of been offered a higher starting wage, or with starting regular the bonuses they got with both clubs meant earning more regular.

NDombele had just moved permanently to Llyon for 8m, had only had 1 year top flight action (remember Janssen) in a much weaker league, and Llyon wanted 50m+. also be honest Berge also plays in a weak league.

on top of that we had a squad of 28 players, failed to sell anyone with Dembele, Wanyama and Janssen were all going to be hard to shift due to either being injured or having a terrible injury history or both

If Fulham go down then Sessegnon and Mitrovic. I hate Mitrovic cos he a dirty bastard but I think that will do us good. Give him enough money to be number two to Kane and use him when we need to bully defenders more. He is strong and kind of reminds me off Mido. When he hot, he hot, when he not at least he can kick someone

Is that you Daniel...? All I’m reading from you is excuses, excuses and more excuses for our failure to back our best league manager since Bill Nicholson. If any manager in my 40 years of supporting THFC deserved unequivocal backing in the transfer market/outgoings then its MP. Yet we have failed at every level to do so.

Any transfer you make whether it’s monetary, adapting from different league, different country or temperament wise is a bloody gamble. No such thing as a 100% fool proof transfer apart from Messi/CR7. The list of excuses I see people making on here for our failure to sign X Y Z is exactly why we’re regressing the last few years.

This team needed quality added to it. It didn’t need padding out with dross like we have done. The worst of the excuses I see is ‘this team cannot be improved on’, why the hell not. It’s not like they’ve been sweeping all before them winning trophies galore.

I’m sorry to bring the LFC example up again but did their midfield really need Fabinho & Keita when they already had Henderson/Wijnaldum/Lallana/Milner/Oxlade? No but they still went out & bought quality as ultimately that team failed last season hence could be improved on. If they fall short this season do you think they’ll stand back & admire this season, like we done for 16/17, or try to improve on it with more quality? We know the answer to that....

Harry said something a few years back that got many of our fans backs up, he said ‘this is as good as it gets for THFC’. He was wrong at the time as MP came in & surpassed all of our expectations. But sadly now that statement is true of now. The team of 15/16 will break up this summer & we’ve got no one to blame but ourselves/owners for screwing up our single biggest chance of winning the league since 61 the season after (16/17) by not backing the manager.

If MP walks this summer, personally speaking, I wouldn’t blame him & he will go with my blessing. Seems like the club wasn’t ‘brave’ enough for him when it mattered most & he called for it to be.

I’d actually take Antonio Valencia on a one year contract for a right back/squad role. More reliable than any of our unreliable RBs currently and he’d bring some much needed experience and wouldn’t carry a transfer fee. Not an awful back up option at very least.

How is he reliable? Hasn’t he been injured for about 2 years?

Jarrod Bowen with 2 goals today for Hull, 21 goals for the season now.

Pretty impressive especially as he is not an out and out striker.
Not seen him play apart from a couple of YouTube clips, might have to watch a few hull games ?

That’s insane. Usually when you see a player with those stats in the Championship, they’re at their peak as a player and many years older than Bowen.

He’s one we should be looking at in the summer. Below is a video of all his touches vs QPR. He’s not flashy, but his work rate, movement, team work, and vision is all very impressive. He’s obviously an intelligent and very efficient player.

Daniel James currently causing trouble for Walker in the Cup. Kid truly is lightning quick. He is certainly one we should be looking to grab from Swansea. Had a big part in the second goal using his pace.

so you have followed us for 40years, 8 years less than me, yet you forget about Burkenshaw, proper fan then?

Any transfer you make whether it’s monetary, adapting from different league, different country or temperament wise is a bloody gamble. so we are up to our eyes in debt, and you would take risks, when previous risks failed, hence why having a blotted squad which we failed to sell anyone, or was you asleep all summer.

JJ said Poch isn't interested in Tielemans, we never put a bid in for Brooks or Maddison, and how is my reasons for those 2 excuses. we tried to go for NDembele but again as JJ said the owner put the fee up, I was just stating in different words you don't risk 50-75m

the Sander Berger until on here I'd never of heard of him, but I don't play Football Manager.

we all know we needed at least a CM to replace Dembele

This team needed quality added to it. It didn’t need padding out with dross like we have done. The worst of the excuses I see is ‘this team cannot be improved on’, why the hell not. It’s not like they’ve been sweeping all before them winning trophies galore.

I agree we need quality, hence why Poch didn't want Plan B's, but as I keep saying with the club in debt, there is no way you go buy 200m worth of players that will all want decent wages, which will change the way we have to pay others, to then have to pay 3-5 players a wage when they are not doing anything. you hope they get a chance, just like Sissoko, and take it to put them in the window.

trouble is it was hard to sell Wanyama and Dembele due to injuries that won't go away, and Janssen wasn't going to get bought due to having an op before the window closed.

Liverpool still had plenty of the Coutinho money, and the money they received from reaching the CL final, and haven't just built a stadium that cost a fortune. before last season we where miles behind them in the financial world, something you might understand why if you have been watching football for 40yrs

the 16/17 window? we missed out on Batshuayi the reason he left Chelsea was due to play time, so how did you expect him to replace Kane. the only other player I remember there being vibes about was Isco, who chose to stay at RM,

There is a clause in his contract we can activate and its nowhere near the 50M and the boy is desperate to come to spurs however their chairman doesn't like ours so we are trying to get around that little roadhump....
I imagine this would be for top 6 clubs etc, not just for us

personal frustrated opinion here but our owner could stick his hand in his pocket and help our chairman massively and we can really push on but it never bloody happens so its run as business not a plaything like Chelsea City PSG & Liverpool!!
Liverpool is most definitely not a play thing. It is a business but one that believes in value creation through sporting success not property development.
