I think we will be back in for Grealish and sessegnon in the summer, rightly or wrongly. I bet we’ve done a lot of contract groundwork and know what they want. As usual it will be down to how much we want to pay.

This summer the HG thing won’t be as pressing because we will lose TA and CE and FL and MV are out of contract. That’s 4 spots.

Regardless of HG quota I would prefer us to sign young english talent as much as possible where we can. I like the fact that we have so many english internationals who came through our academy/first team and poch has a knack for developing young talent.

We'll only get a chance to sign Grealish if AV miss out on promotion. I would have liked him previously and I think he'd flourish with much better players around him. Haven't seen anything much from Sessegnon to set the pulse racing and I think our valuation of him has probably dropped a fair bit. I'd prefer a LWB like Telles or Grimaldo in all honesty. RB is less of a problem so will probably stick with what we have unless we get a good enough offer.

I'd give Llorente another year and focus on a top quality CM like N'Dombele or Diawara. Would be happy enough with Berge from what I've seen. We need a HG 3rd choice keeper if Vorm moves on. Don't think we have anyone good enough coming through the ranks.

I can't seem to understand why people don't rate Grealish, I have the same opinion that surrounded by better talent he would elevate his level and show what he is really capable of. Is he a like for like replacement for Eriksen? Ofcourse not. Does he have the attributes to succeed at a higher level? Definitely.

Sessegnon has age on his side and even after a turbulent season with Fulham, I still think he is worth a punt. How big of a punt will determine whether its a viable deal or not. I don't see us spending anywhere over 25-30 million pounds on him and rightly so.

If we could get Tierney from Celtic I'd be delighted. He is the only LWB/LB option I can see us affording with the high demand for LWB/LB these days.

Berge would be a good shout for CM, however I'd like him to come in as an addition to Ndombele or Diawara and not as our stand alone CM signing.

For GK any HG player who is decent between the sticks will do. I'd go for Etheridge if it were up too me, he could fight it out with Gazzaniga for 2nd/3rd choice.

So my current list would look like this:

Grealish
Sessegnon
Tierney
Berge
Ndombele/Diawara
Etheridge

That's a tall ask for us, but these players should all be reasonably priced within our budget. No extravagant spending is needed to improve our squad.

Im sure Aulas will try for mega money but I think he will go for 55-60 mill. Madrid and Barca havent been linked - its mainly been us City and Utd.

City might have a 2 window ban and Utd wont go for him. This is our biggest chance to get him but we will need CL.

55-60m is still a big spend for us. As you say though, we might get a fairly clear run at it even though he's only just signed for them. Don't know what wages he's on.

He definitely won't come cheap, but within reason as my other targets shouldn't command such a high transfer fee. If he costs us circa 50-60 Million, I genuinely think he is worth that much money. We will just have to taper the payments based on performance bonuses for Lyon. So realistically a base fee of 40-45, with the balance in increments depending on how he turns out for us. If he meets expectations then he is well worth the full 50-60 in today's market.

I wasn't sure about Grealish last summer, but my opinion of him has grown the way he's knuckled back down and been their leader this season. He's showing great maturity to go along with his talent. If it's true that his new contract has a clause letting him go if they don't go up we should all over it.

If we are losing Toby this season we should look no further than Kostas Manolas to replace him. Has a reported 30.8m buyout clause. Could see him being linked around but that type of player has Levy al over. 27yo established pro, would be a very astute signing imo

Heavily linked to Man U (and not us) unfortunately. I do worry that our only links for Toby replacements are more young players with potential. As talented as Foyth and Sanchez are, you need experience at centre back.

The fact that we couldn't get his transfer over the line when it looked almost certain could've derailed his progress and confidence but the lad took it in his stride and has really stepped up this season for the Villians.

That shows maturity, work ethic and class that Poch clearly admires in his players. It's pretty much a no brainer if they don't make the playoffs.

I do wonder if this has made him bitter towards us, if we try again.

Just popping in here once more to spread my propaganda for Diawara. Absolute baller and on his day already world class. Much like RLC and CHO criminally underused by Sarri at Napoli when he was there.

He doesn't seem to be a player who would have an attitude like that. I don't think we were to blame for the transfer falling through either, that had more to do with the takeover but I can't say for sure. But I really doubt he would be bitter about it.

I don’t see Ndombele coming to us. From a french perspective, he is at a very ambitious french club who want to be proper competitors for the title and play cl every year. He is basically at the French Spurs now and will feel his next move could be to a mega club.

I have no insight into what spurs have done but I am highly sceptical. Last summer was the time.

To be fair he had Hamsik, Jorginho, Allan and Zielinski ahead of him, it's understandable that he wasn't used much.
