With all due respect, being good at dribbling also doesn't equal being a good attacking full back, IMO. It suggests he can beat a man but if he's got no end product after that then is he a good attacking full back? Not so sure.

Anyway, I'm not personally saying he's bad in attack, I've just not seen any evidence to suggest it's an equal part of his game to his clearly standout defensive work. Equally though, my expectation is that he is probably held back by Roy's defensive tactics.

Probably no need for this

I definitely agree with this to an extent. Although considering his age I would say being good defensively, having pace and great dribbling ability are enough raw tools to develop into a top full back. In fact, considering Kyle Walker has always been technically limited in terms of dribbling he's made a pretty decent career so I don't think anyone should worry about AWB's perceived attacking weakness.

Here's my dream Tottenham rebuild....

My INS would be Sancho, Grealish, NDombele, AWB, Daniel James, and Max Kruse on a free.
My OUTS would be Eriksen, Toby, Trips, Wanyama, Lamela, Janssen, Nkoudou, Vorm, Llorente, (possibly Aurier)

I'd be content with giving Aurier another go and looking to offload him in the Winter if he's surplus.

Shift all the dead wood and rebuild the team.

GK: Lloris, Gaz, Whiteman

RB: AWB, KWP, *Aurier*

RCB: Sanchez, Foyth

LCB: Verts, (Davies)

LB: Rose, Davies

CM/CDM: Ndombele, Sissoko, Winks, Dier

LAM - Son, James

CAM - Dele, Grealish

RAM - Sancho, Lucas, Edwards

ST - Kane, Kruse

Lloris
AWB Sanchez Verts Rose
NDombele Sissoko
Sancho Dele Son
Kane

Sissoko starting CM next season? Really? I think if Sissoko is still in the first XI in CM after the summer window then something has gone desperately wrong.

He's been a beast for me this season. I just think a midfield of him and NDombele would be electric. But of course NDombele could play alongside Winks or Dier in my squad as well.

Not for me, he's effective because of his work rate but we need someone who's far better on the ball. He's done an incredible job just to now be a player most people would be happy to keep.

I think he's great, but I very much doubt we'll be going for players like Wan Bissaka or Chilwell - out of our reach now financially, you're looking at around £60m each. Max Aarons or Youcef Atal for RB and Kieran Tierney, Alex Grimaldo or even Ryan Sessengon (as a LWB) seem more obtainable targets for us.

I think Sessegnon is pretty much a gimme from what JJ was saying although I don't know where that will leave Davies/Rose.

So, in a year when most believe we need five players we get rid of one that’s been getting MOM on a regular basis. You and the Rose haters need to think about priorities

That's exactly the kind of thing we should be doing, creating intense competition for places. If we want to be this 'big club' everyone keeps banging on about that is. IMO, it doesn't have to be one or the other, it can be both. Not that I particularly care if we sign Zaha or not. We can sign a forward player as well as addressing other areas. I'll say it again, I think we'll spend a fair bit this summer. IMO of course :D

IMO we need to plug the gaps in our starting XI before we try to create major competition in areas where we're sorted. I know what you're saying, but it will be a building process, and right now we need to concentrate our efforts in areas where we're weak. Just my opinion.

So in a year when one of

so you want one of our best players this season to be benched when we need to replace five players at minimum. Again priorities exist
Yes. We can do much better in midfield with more balance.

Agreed we can do better but that statement stands across the pitch bar Harry and we still need back up for him. My point is we need to prioritize and I don’t see Siss as the main problem.

One of the players we need a replacement for is Dembele so I'm hardly saying something controversial.

If he Sissoko played for Lyon and you put a highlights reel of his season on YouTube then this entire forum would be screaming in unison for us to sign him. He’s been nothing short of sensational....... apart from that miss on Sunday which I’m still not sure I’ll ever forgive him for!!

A good midfield is all about having the right combination of players with different strengths and weaknesses, and Sissoko has been sensation at the things he does well this season - plugging gaps in defence, breaking the lines running with the ball. If we could find a really good creative midfielder to play alonside him, with Winks, then we'd be close to having a good blend.

So Eriksen... and that combination hasn't looked great all season.
