I honestly wouldn't take Mahrez. Not because I don't think he's a good player, I just don't think he would fit us, nor IMO is he what we need. Can't think of anyone else in their best 20 players I'd say that about though. Actually, probably wouldn't take Delph, Otamendi or Kompany either for various reasons.

I agree with all of that really. Think I'd personally take Delph, though. Underrated player (in my opinion) and offers the LB/DM option that Poch has tried to shoehorn Rose into on occasion this season.

Sane want to leave ManC .... says the The Sun

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8897293/man-city-jesus-sane-ask-to-leave/

SPANISH media report Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus are just two out of a possible eight players that have asked to leave Manchester City in the summer.

Neither player started in the recent 4-3 win against Tottenham as the Citizens crashed out of the Champions League on away goals.

According to El Chiringuito, there are 'seven or eight' City stars that are seeking a move away from the Etihad at the end of the season.

They sensationally claim that forwards Sane and Jesus are unhappy about their amount of game time this season, with both finding themselves on the bench regularly.

The Brazilian has started just eight Premier League games this season - coming on as a substitute on 18 occasions in the top-flight.

While Sane has been an unused substitute in four out of the last eight Prem games with Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva preferred instead.

The Spanish news outlet report that their request to leave will trigger a response from a number of players in the City squad who are convinced that Pep Guardiola will continue to leave them out.

It has been exclusively revealed that the Spaniard has held a clear-the-air meeting with his side after their hopes of winning a historic quadruple were shattered.

Sane would be an incredible signing but it's not even worth fantasizing about. He must be on colossal wages and they wouldn't sell him to us. Oddly though, whoever they potentially sell to, they'll be meeting at some point in a top competition. I expect they'll just chuck more money at him.

Zaha will be stupidly over priced.

He's averaged 6 goals and 4 assists in each of the last 5 league campaigns.

That is truly awful for a 26 year old with a 60m+ price tag.

I really don’t see people’s obsession with him. Personally I don’t think he has the drive in him to play for us.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few of them get itchy feet, especially those two. They are both really good players. Sane seems to be a bit of a sulker though but if Jesus was given a run in any other top 6 team he’d get 20 plus goals a season.

There seems to be a lot of very good players available this summer, who will command large transfer fees and large wages.

But I doubt there is enough money in the market to pay for said fees and wages.

Someone is going to have to take a wage cut or stay put!!

Mahrez to City always had the look of a failure to me. Joining a club full of big names and with better players in his position already.

I’d love him at Tottenham. He’s so much better than Lamela, he’s better than Moura too and he obviously knows the league inside out.

Get Toby and Eriksen to stay, new right back, Grealish, another centre mid, Mahrez. I think we’d win the league.

Not too bothered about Zaha now. Would be an exciting signing, but one that I don't think I'd want us to really push for anymore. I don't get the guy either, why sign a massive contract extension only just recently? Potentially priced himself out of a move. The guy seems really unsure of what he even wants.

I know it's (probably) crazy to consider Sane as a realistic option BUT, according to this, he (and Jesus) are currently on £90k p/w - https://www.spotrac.com/epl/manchester-city-f.c/payroll/

Zaha is a very good player and in our team would do well. He offers another threat that requires special attention from opponents. Leaving significant room for other players to exploit. Hope we get him.

This is the trouble with City, they buy players they don’t really need. Sane, Mahrez, and Jesus are woefully underused at City.

In Mahrez’ case I think are large part of the reason they signed him is because United wanted him.

I have never been convinced by Zaha. Id take him for 20m or so but seriously like not much more than that.

Id take Sane in a heartbeat. Think he is brilliant.

Ironically United are the ones that wanted Sanchez and only signed him because City were after him, he went to United which effectively paved the way for Mahrez.

I think there is going to be a huge game of musical chairs this summer right across Europe, just hope we are not the ones left standing when the music stops

Let me guess... pulls out our one and only transfer policy response, yep that’s it ‘we don’t have a plan’ hence at risk of having egg on our face again.

I believe that Levy will loosen the purse strings in the summer. He has seen what fantastic achievements Poch has made with an under-resourced squad and also the comments made by Poch over the past few months. DL would be a complete fool not to provide funds and he may be many things, but he is not a fool.

As an Eriksen replacement I think we could do a lot worse than sign that Brooks kid at Bournemouth. He’s obviously a bit raw and would need a few years but his potential is high

It's quite interesting from a psychological point of view. Team A won't sell a player to Team B because it might improve them, but the player is deemed not good enough for Team A in the first place. Then, if Team B can't sign the player they might get somebody even better who strengthens them more. It's quite a weak and paranoid mentality when you think about it.

Toby staying would be fantastic, eriksen not bothered so inconsistent this season

While I agree re Eriksen’s inconsistency, he’s topping the charts for assists this season in the league.

Imagine where he’d be with a settled future? That’s what we’d lose. If there’s a chance he stays, we have to take it.

We don’t replace him easy.
