I’m not saying I’m not aware, I’m saying that Swansea are an English club in the eyes of uefa. So if they are now saying Davies can’t count as home grown, then Spurs lawyers should be on it like a rash, so should Swansea, Cardiff and the other three “exile” clubs.
I believe davies’ HG status may be die the fact that he spent some of his youth in Denmark which may have broken the amount of time spent at Swansea. Not exactly sure of the age he was there but this could be the reason why he not counted as HG

I disagree. That did not work for city with far better players. You need a physical presence in that midfield.

Besides Poch had supposedly turned down Tielemans.
Did it? They controlled both games. And we only scored from two Laporte errrors and a corner. Its more about the blend of players than physicality, Gundogan doesn’t work as hard as the rest of their side.

I wasn’t sure about Tielemans either, but he’s been sensational at Leicester. He’s averaging almost an assist every 100 or so minutes playing in central midfield. That’s top notch.

Fine margins at the top but I would be uncomfortable playing such a lightweight midfield unless you are far superior technically. Only City have that in every PL game and even they look far better with Fernandinho putting himself about in front of the defence. He destroyed Kane in the first leg.

I like Tielemans even if he underwhelmed at Monaco. Someone like him would be great.

He was 11 when he moved back to Swansea from Denmark, so it plays no bearing. For HG status, you have to be registered to a team within that FA for 3 years between 15 and 21. The problem with CL is that UEFA don't consider Swansea as part of English FA, as their national team is Wales, despite them playing in the English leagues.

Would be interesting to see what would count as HG for Swansea and Cardiff if they ever qualify for EL or CL.

I cant believe people would want to take Sissoko out of the side, he's been immense and we need more options to play beside him, not just Winks.

The strength we have as a side has been immense with Sissoko in there. Need another quality CM to play beside him and compete with Winks.

I get that this is a wishlist but I cannot believe I'm seeing people seriously discuss Sane as a possible signing.

This is the same Manchester City who wouldn't sell us Jadon Sancho as a 17 year old because they're competing with us.

You think they'd sell us an already established world class 23 y/o winger??

What's the thoughts on Grealish?

Saw a villa mate tonight who said he'll be in the England squad as soon as he starts playing premier league football and is definitely good enough for a CL team

Said they won't sell him if they get promoted but will have to let him go financially if they don't

Agreed. In midfield we should be looking for reinforcement, not replacement. Injuries and a busy schedule mean we need options, how often do we get our best 11 out anyway? We need a top class CM to go with Sissoko, Winks, and Dier (sorry Victor). Who plays depends on who we play against, injuries, and form. This has to be our priority along with RB.

I'd absolutely take Grealish 100%. Elegant, classy footballer who's stepped up as he's got older. I fancy Villa to go up though so I doubt we'll see him anytime soon

Also that every club on earth wouldn't be offering him double what we would

Last summer I was seriously underwhelmed with the idea.

This season he seems to have significantly matured both as a player and as a leader.

It’s always good to see how a “top” player handles dropping down a league - many get found out and fail to dominate in the way that’s expected of them. Grealish on the other hand, has proven his ability and come to be one of the top players in the division.

Definitely think that shows he’s got the right stuff to be able to make the step up with us.

We need at least 1 CM this summer assuming no outgoings and I’d be happy with him (or Gomes on loan at Everton). Not necessarily “top top” players but would definitely improve us I think.

Although there are some HG players that would definitely be good signings (AWB, Grealish) we should be aiming higher imo. We're in the semi-finals of the Champions League and potentially the final for crying out loud, going for second rate buys when you don't have to just seems odd. If we want to show ambition for next season, just look at Liverpool (slightly different financial situation but point still stands): CL finalists, spent big in the summer upgrading key positions and now they're going to the wire with City for the title and also pushing for the Champions League. If we want to challenge consistently in the PL and CL we have to try and target top tier signings.

It is obvious the top two are in a league of their own but I do think we are best placed to join them... the others will need to spend far more than we do to get to that level, I dont think we need to spend too much. I just would like us to bring in three or four really good quality players

I'd really like us to challenge properly for the title and dont think we have any excuses and given the stadium is now in place... we should be able to.

City are in a league if their own. Over the 3 previous seasons we challenged for the title and would fade away in the final 8 odd games.

I reckon spending £ 250 million ( player sales & a little cash injection) would bring us back in to that equation.

More than anything i dont want us to become like the Gooners whose only contentment was finishing top 4. In my 30 yrs of following Spurs I've never seen us have such a consistent management team and a squad able to compete.

We need to invest this summer to freshen up the squad but very importantly strengthen up in the key areas with quality additions to allow us to WIN trophies.

We're not spending 250m this window unless we're selling Kane for 300m.

IDK may just happen. If we had a hot ~150M in our pockets last summer (as per ITK) and we haven't spent it, + the Dembele money, + the money we get for outgoings this summer, and the important one - Qualify for CL next + any extra potential money we get for further wins or progression this year then we might actually have that number without selling Kane. That's just science right there.
