I gather we have signed Jonathan De Bie as he was with the first years yesterday. Expected from rumours as we have only one keeper.

Thanks.

We seem to have looked at several young Belgian keepers lately eg Anderson M'Bangi played in one or two tournaments for us at u15/u16 level last season. There has been speculation in the Belgian press tharJonathan de Brie has been on his way to us for about a month I think http://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20160603_02321532
http://soccerisma.com/2016/06/spurs-beat-liverpool-player-heading-to-join-tottenham/ but always good to see if it comes about. Belgian u15 keeper with one cap at Belgian u16 signed from K.V. Mechlen

Didn't know M'bangi was Belgian. I assume he is still part of next years u15s/16s as he was part of the actual squad photo for the u14s last year.

Also Madueke has been called up for an England u15 camp

@spurs_report I'm told Onomah and KWP are going with England.

If Onomah and KWP are with E u19's they will leave Spurs in about a week to join up with England - or even go there almost straight away. Either way wouldn't be around for much if any of the pre-season

I guess pretty much confirming what was thought earlier in the thread

I didn't contribute to this thread as much as I'd have liked last year due to playing football on Saturdays when most U18 games are. That's stopped this year so I'm hoping to get to a lot more games this season, when the first team aren't on a Saturday. Looking forward to it (y)

I'm hoping Harrison can show what he's about in pre-season and hopefully claim a 3rd choice striker spot for himself.

CCV, Winks, Edwards and Ogilvie in the training vid. Great to see Ogilvie in there. Makes sense as Rose will be away fro a couple of weeks and Davies away longer. Hopefully he gets a real chance in preseason, look forward to seeing him play.

EDIT - looks like Grant Ward is in the training gallery pics too

Interesting that the PL site now has a tab called 'PL2' and the page is headed 'Premier League 2'

Guess the u21 League is now in the process of being rebranded - rumours of course that it will become an u23 league, but that's not confirmed as yet

I find Grant Ward to be a really interesting player. He's really shot up in the past few years, but it's hard to pencil in where he'd fit in this Poch scheme.

Personally I think he could convert to RB for Poch, it's just unfortunate that we've already got Walker, Trippier and KWP in there.

IMO Ward's greatest asset is his versatility, and on that basis Poch might like him as he's on record as saying he prefers a smaller squad with players being able to play in more than one position.

Problem is that Ward doesn't look likely to be first choice in any of the positions he plays - more like 3rd choice - but if Poch wanted to have a squad with more than 2 players per position Ward might be a good candidate for Player no 23 in the squad.

It's Lyall so feel free to ignore but he's said this (first tweet in response to someone asking what positions we are looking at):

Lyall Thomas ‏@SkySportsLyall 5m5 minutes ago
Attacking-mid then maybe centre-back if the right one comes along. Expect a few youngsters to come in as well.

Paul Cox‏@pcox970
@SkySportsLyall @jamiebartolo youngsters such as?

As in new youngsters....Spurs sending scouts to U19s Euros in Germany later this month.
Im pretty certain he is wrong and if true then the club is in a bit of a mess in terms of how its run especially with the academy

As SI said, I think if he was to make it with us his versatility will be key. To be in quite a few Championship TOTWs is a good thing and suggests he can probably play in the PL but he won't be good enough for a specific position. Hard to know what to do with him. Maybe a PL loan. Wouldn't want him to play ahead of KWP at RB

Hope so. I know people love buying new young players as they believe it provides competition however bringing in players based off potential, above ours is pointless. Just trust what you have.

I could understand if they were tearing up a league, but the chances of someone from an u19 tournament making it is no better than our players

Surely the academy should be constantly looking for fresh talent?
