A bit of ex-U21 news- Cristian Ceballos has signed for Belgium Pro League team Sint-Truiden on a season-long loan from Charlton.

Surprised ward hasn't been more on poch's radar for integration. I think he's a great prospect.
May have stood a chance if he hadn't picked up and injury just before the trip to Oz. That, and Edwards.

Good luck to the lad - has done vey well on loans at Coventry, Rotherham and in MLS so every chance that he will repeat that at Ipswich

Pleased for him, that's a good move for everyone. Always liked him despite always being in the shadow of more fancied players in every age group.

Hopefully, the Grant Ward deal will also demonstrate to young players and their famiiy that the Spurs Academy is a good place to develop.

As the experienced Academy watchers in this thread have stated, Ward was never the most talented player in his position in his age group. But he clearly has a great attitude and a willingness to learn. The club has continued to develop him, through loans, and coaching back at the club in between those loans.

As a result, he leaves our Academy as a Championship player, with an excellent chance of making a good living as a professional footballer.

Only a few of our Academy will make it as Spurs players long term. But Ward and many others - for instance both Adam Smith and Charlie Daniels at Bournemouth - demonstrate the benefits of coming through the Spurs system.

And @Bus-Conductor , I suspect you'll say Adam Smith should have made it at Spurs. To which I respond that I think KWP is a better player at the same age, and our best full back prospect since Stevie Carr... ;)

Think this makes the point of what the Academy contributes to Spurs - in addition of course to Kane, Rose, Mason, Carroll, Bentaleb, Pritchard, the 11 youngsters who went to Australia and others still in the Academy.

So far we've pretty much paid for the training ground that the first team use !

Tottenham have received over £36m in transfer fees for Academy products since 2011. #THFCpic.twitter.com/Y71wiXJLWj

Nb. Think we got £500k for Ward, and a few hundred thousand for Couulthirst. Think there was also a sell on clause in Luongo's sale - so we are probably well over £37m on those sales - and its rumoured there will be over the £13m for Pritchard and Bentaleb, which would bring total to over £50m !

Think we also got fees for caballos, azouzi and falque to add in this as well

I don't think they were counted as our academy and rightly so. I think Ceballos joined at 19 and Falque older.

Only case could be made for Azzaoui and he only spent a year with us before being sold.

Good info on Ward though

Griffiths scored 5 in 6 during the tournament in Liverpool, so has started in good form. Paris Maghoma featured too, I imagine a few other u16s were also involved with some of the 2nd years in France

Yup a bit of research and we had a 40% sell on fee which netted us about .£1.2m extra when he moved on to QPR. Takes us up to £38m+ before selling Bentaleb or Pritchard

Outstanding return

Add to that the likes of:
- Rose (1m outlay but essentially youth team trained)
- Kane
- Mason

...and even leaving out Onomah, Edwards, KWP, Winks etc., and you can see massive value generated. Paid for the training ground essentially, and then some!

Would love to know the squad as without the u16's we could have had 10 of the Academy Year 2 :
GK’s – Alfie Whiteman, Brandon Austin
Defenders - Jaden Brown (LB/CB), Nicholas Tsaroulla (LB), Japhet Tangana (CB)
Midfielders – Dylan Duncan (AM), Jack Roles (CM)
Forwards - Sam Shashoua (RW), Keanan Bennetts (Winger/Midfield), , Kazaiah Sterling (Striker)

and the 9 we think in year 1 :
GK : Charles Freeman, Jonathan de Bie
Defenders : Tariq Hinds (RB/LB), Timothy Joel Eyoma (CB), Jonathan Toko Lema Dinzeyi (CB), Matthew Lock (RB/RM)
Midfield : Tashan Oakley-Boothe (CM/AM), Jamie Reynolds (CM/AM), Moroyin Omolabi (CM/DM)
Forwards : Reo Revaldo Griffiths (striker/utility)

So 19 in total - although doubt we took all 4 GK's especially with Freeman going to Milk Cup

Im hoping that the second year get their shit together this season as they have a lot of potential

Especially Brown, Tanganga and Sterling meanwhile Shashoua and Bennetts need to regain the form in the first half as they looked great and arguably the two brightest in U18's in the first half

Thought the 2nd years looked better towards the end of the season, when more of the 2nd years stopped playing - although Bennetts had dropped off alarmingly from the start when he looked very good.

Marsh, Oteh, Brown, Mukena were all in France so you can exclude them
