So Nmecha missed an open goal but did a nice flick so starts, whereas Edwards has created two game-winning goals and is still benched.

Wonder what Edwards done that was so bad in the first game to not have him start again

I would guess it's a case of the manager hedging bets. If the game's not going right, Marcus can provide a spark that can get a goal. If the team is doing well, happy days. But if Marcus starts and the team's not doing well, not much on the way of game-changing options.

England probably wouldn't even be in the final if it weren't for Edwards' contributions yet he still gets left on the bench in favour of players who have done much less.

Truly abysmal performance in first 25 minutes by England. The kick and rush mob cant string more then two passes together and have hardly got out of their own half. can only get better I hope.

There is a chelsea bias imo in the england youth setup, iirc the U21's assistant is a chelsea coach

The only reason I say a bias, is because there are some players who clearly havent done anything to be part of the england setup but are there like Nathaniel Chalobah, hasnt played competitive football for 2 seasons yet is starting for the England U21's

Chelsea is the best academy but for them to have 9 players involved in the past euro u21 campaign is a bit extreme imo

It's a shame mason mount will spend the next 3 years on loan at vitesse before popping up in the championship, he's the kind of tidy player England really lack

He'll be a Championship player at best. Reminds me of Bamford, massively overrated just because he's at Chelsea.

U19 coach was a Chelsea player as well. Clearly shows in his team selections.

Isn't Harry Winks the kind of player which you described?
