This was from October 2015

To carry on from these 2 posts, about these two age groups, here is a view from someone who's opinion will no doubt hold more weight than a fan on a forum. This is from an article I'll post in the next post

Borussia Mönchengladbach, sporting director Max Eberl said “We follow every English national game — under-16, under-17 and so on — and we know every top player in England,” he says. “They develop great players. That age group [born in] 2000 in England, you could take every player. It’s unbelievable. They will perhaps win the Under-17 World Cup in India this month. That age group of 1999-2000-2001, there are a lot of top English players. For me, they’re the best in the world in that age group.

There is a lot to look forward to, it will be a crime if none come through. Really hope we win the World Cup

Unfortunately they won't get premier league minutes, but if they do, they'll get called up to an England squad managed and coached by an idiot. It's very annoying.

he's a loss but gomes is hardly a bad replacement. perhaps somewhat controversial but i actually think foden has been better than sancho so far, saw a stat for most completed dribbles of any player at the tournament and foden was out on his own at the top whilst surprisingly sancho wasn't even listed despite starting all three group games(foden only started two).

as for our lads i really want to see tob to step it up now as he's been a bit quiet, on his day he can be just as influential as the other big names but he's taken a back-seat so far.

He must be fuming.Gonna miss experience of a lifetime with his mates. For what sitting on bench with Dortmund. If he was German there’s absolutely no way they’d withdraw him,it’s a disgrace tbh.If there’s no fitness issue ,country should always get precedent over club. What if we meet Germany in final How is that possibly fair.Hopefully will cause a rift with Dortmund.

Watched all 3 games and sancho has been our best player by a mile.Foden and gomes are good but nothing like the threat sancho is.

Sancho seems to model himself on Neymar. He does those little dummies over the ball just like Neymar - I wonder how long until a defender crunches into him...? Be a new test for him unlike youth football where he's clearly a cut above. I think if he's assured of game time by Dortmund then this is a good decision.

Don’t understand as he’s not exactly getting game time in the seniors at Dortmund

If he does it will be brilliant but as you say it's very unlikely at this stage.

Either way I don't think the attacking for is particularly weakened. Stick CHO out on the LW and is arguably the 2nd most dangerous player there at the tournament after Sancho.

Not sure about that. Foden is quality and I've said previously I reckon he's as good as Sancho. Sancho is quality as are the others.

What's happened again is the focus put on him has taken him to almost mythical levels. Before we were linked to him barely anyone had seen or heard of him. Then a compilation was posted and now he is the greatest talent like Sessegnon.

If you check Foden, Gomes or CHO comps you'd probably get a similar response.

Sancho is this age groups Roberts. The difference is the next best winger or AM in Roberts' age group was nowhere near as good, whereas this age group has 5/6 quality AM/wingers of a similar level, so his loss while big isn't huge. Just a shame we couldn't call up a replacement as we're now thin.

Regardless I don't think Sancho has reached the levels he did at the Euros. Conversely Foden had a poor Euros but I think has been excellent this tournament.

Tbf Foden & Sancho are totally different type of players.

Foden is probably my favourite young English player atm. He’s technically superior than everyone. Hopefully City keep buying abroad and he leaves otherwise they have the next Silva ready and waiting

Let’s see if Jadon is still in Germany within 12 months. I doubt it for reasons that I won’t share.
Honestly believe sancho could be that game changer.Im trying to think of an English player to compare him too.Maybe John Barnes he’s that good.

Agree they ate different styles. Sancho is Kore similar to CHO which is why I'm not massively concerned though I'd love our full strength squad.
