Notable absentees from this tournament are Kane Patterson, Alexander Monroe, Josh Gray, Chay Cooper and Troy Parrott.

Hey @IGSpur any idea if, when Raff Pedder and Blake D'Arcy were relased and where they are now?

Good point. I was speaking to a West Ham fan who is knowledgeable on youth football, I think he runs their academy account.

I was discussing who I thought our intake would be, he seemed to believe that some of those above were off, he also believed Cirkin was off. So I don't know.

I've got no ITK on this but I wouldn't read into the absences that much, as Walcott isn't there either and I believe he has already been offered a contract.

AS you know there could be school commitments that are affecting them, illness, family problems, anything.

I personally don't believe we'd release Pedder who was highly rated called up to England camps but suffered bad injuries. He is comparable to Clarke in that respect where he was rated but then missed out a large part of the season but was still given a contract. I don't believe we'd also release D'Arcy another international.

I don't believe we'd release Patterson who is a good player and versatile, and finally I don't believe we'd release Parrott who we signed with a lot of hype and has looked decent and similarly Cooper with less hype. We have more cover for Monroe's position, and Gray. But I'm just not sure. I don't think the squad that is out there has any bearing on the next intake

Let me know if you find somewhere to watch them back as I'd love to watch the first half. I'm not going to able to watch too much of tomorrow's match either.

You can still watch back on the current stream. I'm trying to find a way to record as I can't quite watch it yet as I'm busy but don't want to lose it

Cirkin didn't look great today.

He has looked very talented when I've seen him before. I wonder if it was a one off or an indication of the level he is at. If it is the latter then I could understand him being released, but I've definitely been impressed by him before. And it's not a fool proof method but he is one who was been called up in the past

Found this report on madueke from October:
y) took his goal brilliantly.
Noni Madeuke*: Excellent performance from the number 10, brilliant with the ball at his feet. The skilful Madeuke who has already featured for our under 18’s, possess brilliant close ball control and a low centre of gravity, he really ran the show against Cambridge. He was also very creative going forward and showed good strength, managing to shrug off players on numerous occasions.

or maybe we use this tournament to make final decision on some of these players?

Though, and I have heard but not received confirmation, so someone can chime in. Apparently this year the rules have changed and we now have to offer the contracts before the new year. If this is true, you'd imagine the ones that are u16s and have gone will be here next year, and those that haven't are the ones being released.

For those that want to know I believe, the u15s at the tournament are Robson, Aird-Munn, Muir, John and Alberdi

He is one of the highest rated players in the academy.

Heard the same and a lot of clubs have been doing just that, so it would make sense. It would be incredibly harsh on some of the lads left at home were the ones being let go. I mean what can Cooper & Parrott have done so badly wrong in the short time that they've been with us?

I would agree with the assessment that Cirkin did not have a great game. He looked on a par with Pochettino, which is that they're just not up to this level. As you've said @IGSpur at least Cirkin has some previous to fall back on, so maybe it was just an off day.

For what its worth, having watched the whole game, I think we can safely say that Mandueke, Bennett & Binks are quality and will not look a bit out of place in the U18 side.

Everyone looked very tidy on the ball. Maghoma stood out a mile as an absolute beast. Clarke is slowly finding his feet after a horrendous year with injuries and tried his best up front and at right back. White looked very composed at the back considering he's not a centre half. Tainio was in a similar bracket to Poch & Cirkin, decent without ever looking like they belonged in this company. Markanday was very lively and is such a tricky customer. Bowden had a tough night in that playmaker role. As for the subs...I thought Asante looked very, very raw - he reminds me of Oteh.

Assuming he's not injured I was a little surprised that Jeremie Mukendi wasn't taken on this trip as he's had bugger all football really. Also, I can't remember but I don't think Statham or Thorp were taken either which is, again, strange given how little football they've had. (I know they both played in the last league game). Statham probably has Binks breathing down his neck anyway.

The other U17s not to go are BLF, Okedina, Phoenix Patterson, Richards, Shashoua and Skipp. Althought you could argue that Skipp is basically an U23 now.

It was an 01 tournament and younger. Without checking the only DOBs I don't know are Statham and Okedina. Everyone else is a 00 so I think it's safe to assume those 2 are as well

I agree with all of that except Bowden, who I liked (first time I'd seen him in about a year).

Also, I'm not *totally* sold on Maghoma yet. He drifts in and out a bit and sometimes seems to rely on his size/strength advantage (which he won't always have) to get him out of trouble rather than doing the right thing.

It’s weird we have Onomah TOB Maghoma all have that similar lazy style.
