Lovely ball from Bowden at touch by Markanday. Got our 2 long passers at CB I see. It looks like Cirkin is struggling eg. misplacing passes while Tainio looks out of his depth here, struggling with positioning and getting exposed. Clearly our weakest areas at the moment

Did the ball from Bowden and touch by Markanday lead to a goal?

What’s the score?

Binks Markanday Clarke lloyd- bennet probably our best players. But nobody really caught the eye. Maghoma look tired after yesterday. Would still say Maghoma and Lloyd-Bennett are probably the 2 stand out players on this trip maybe binks as well.

Markanday has been one of the most impressive players fro us this season. To think we almost couldn't fit him into this intake as we included Tainia and Poch jr.

Ah the perils of nepotism...

True though thought we'd be more objective than that. Imagine we let someone go to bring in people's son, doesn't really sound fair. Again I'm only speculating, but having watched Poch at younger age groups, and now seeing both of them at u18s, it is clear they aren't at the same level

Usual from us. Absolutely bossed by an older, wiser, bigger, stronger, quicker team that were well drilled in a well rounded tactical plan.

I don't think we spend very much time at all teaching our kids how to defend. 100% effort put into their offensive and technical training. I absolutely understand why we do what we do but it makes for brutal match performances. Our defensive line in this game was Tainio (holding midfielder), Bowden (box to box midfielder), Binks (ball playing defender), Cirkin (full back) and White (creative midfielder). We were never going to compete off the ball in this tournament. I feel bad for the likes of Binks who, it is blindingly obvious, is quality because he is constantly exposed by the sieve like nature of our defensive shape and personnel.

Honestly think it’s harsh to judge them today. They had 24 hours turn round and PSG were fresh. Thought we were great yesterday. I think Pochettino Jnr can only end in tears. For me it’s just a bad idea all round. Pochettino snr will only be upset when he is released. Or maybe he knows he won’t be good enough and just wants him close while so young.

Just caught up, beaten by a bigger, stronger, faster team with some technical gems. We really missed Bowden's presence in midfield and struggled to get the ball to our dangerous wide players as a result.

I quite liked the cameo by Marqes Muir at RB.

Where does Harvey White generally play?

I was quite disappointed with Oluwayemi.

White is a midfielder very similar to a lot of our midfielders. Decent passer, likes to carry the ball, low centre of gravity, twists and turns well.

Oluwayemi isn't great, never really was. The coaches must have seen something in him though because he's not just making up the numbers like Freeman who, in my opinion, is slightly better.

Interested to see more of White, looked okay even out of position. Made good decisions generally.

Tainio and Pochettino, sadly, both look like cases of nepotism. And I'm not too taken with Cirkin, Asante, John either (though would like to see more of all).

I read an article on Ramsay at QPR that said that leaving certain players exposed is vital to their debelopment. The fact Binks looked good in spite of being exposed bodes well.

Yeah TOB seems fully fledged 1st squad member now apart from white socks. Pretty sure will be on bench.

With the likelihood Wanyama will start instead of Dier and I doubt Dembele will play with all these huge games coming up I wonder if there's a small chance Poch might start TOB next to Wanyama. Would love to see him get a chance playing alongside genuine first teamers like Wanyama, Eriksen, Lamela and Dele. Surely a worthwhile moment to start him instead of just chucking Sissoko in next to Wanyama.

Surely when going on prestigious like this one, it's about winning. Ramsay is no longer at the club but his methods are still being practiced. The academy philosophy (or Ramsays) and Pochettino's philosophy are completely different and it is easy to see why Poch doesn't put players I would love to see in his match day squad. Someone said Oluwayemi was poor but his defence besides Binks was very poor and didn't really help. I totally understand playing from the back to develop their comfortability on the ball but does that mirror the way the 1st XI week in week out? It seems to me for defenders, they could all be developed better. Another philosophy of the academy is that all players there are expected to play in more than one position so there's really no excuse for anyone saying the boys were playing out of position

Nile John is still 14years old brought along with 4 other u15s

I wonder if the event organisers know that we're going to these tournaments with the intention of getting a right royal roasting. I get prioritising individual development over team accolades, I've defended the idea many times myself but there is a limit. On the international stage they're representing this club and getting humiliated is not a great look. I also wonder what it does to the confidence of the players. Getting no further than the first round and losing to teams we absolutely should be beating and shipping 7 goals in two games can't do wonders for their self-esteem or their confidence. It was clear that the lads were very disappointed and frustrated as their humiliating elimination was confirmed.
