But wouldn't that suggest that Aurier has less upside cause we're aware what his level is when playing against adults? (based on 250 career games)

I was just parroting the comments that come my way when I suggest a youth player could be better. I agree with you, I don't know why people automatically assume Aurier has a higher ceiling but I'm sure if anyone was to actually give an answer they would respond with the comment I posted

I'm sure everyone is aware of Chelsea winning their 5th FAYC in a row. An incredible achievement. Shame they haven't managed to successfully bringing many (any bar Christensen) through yet properly. Maybe they just aren't good enough as I can't imagine any other reason the managers don't select them.

Anyway since the start of the run, they have only lost 2 games, against us and Fulham, and have only gone ONE game where they didn't score, and that was our 2-0 win at WHL in 2015, when Onomah was playing like a mad man and was all over the place, and CCV put in one of the best CB displays I've seen at youth level. That was a great game and really good age group to watch with the 1882 mob.

One of the hardest games they evidently game across. Just thought I'd post as A) I saw it on twitter and thought it was an incredible run by Chelsea that deserves recognition and B) because it shows how impressive that victory was that night against such a formidable opponent.

While I am on random youth news. Elliot Thorpe has been called up to Wales u19s again. I've said before, that Wales group is very decent, they won the last Victory Shield England featured in beating Tanganga's year, so to be playing a year up is good news.

Also found out that Forson played against Chelsea u16s a few weeks ago. So Scarlett has featured at least once for the u16s where he scored a brace on his 14th birthday coming on 2 nil down against Stoke, and Haysman and Forson have featured at least twice. That means they are both playing 2 years up and Forson is still 13. As far as I'm aware that really is rare. I don't remember hearing TOB, Kirby, Skipp play for the u16s (Stylianides/Owens age group) when they were u14s, though I admit I don't have a coaches feeding me information, so could well have and not even known.

Either way it is very impressive. Then you have the other lot of u14s that aren't getting that kind of promotion that are really talented. Definitely an age group worth watching. Hopefully we get to see them in a tournament at some point.

Final point on random youth information. Really weird following that Ramell Carter account, incredible amount of pressure his support network are putting on him. What 9 year old needs to be sent gear from a random clothing line to promote, he goes to primary school smh

It was a great performance from our team that night and Tom Glover had what was probably the best game of his career.

Watched the U23s tonight get hammered 0-5 by City.
Better than us all over the pitch and pressed high up the pitch which we didn't have an answer for.
I'd be surprised if anyone from the older year groups made the grade.
Bennett's was probably the highlight when he came on but still lacked a final ball when it mattered.
Skipp's still got a way to go at this level but he seems to have a natural drive which means it won't be through lack of effort.

Imho Skipp is being over hyped. He is good, but not great. Obviously I want to see him make it, but come on. TOB is another one.

They are not like the Onomah’s and KWP coming through, who we all had eyes in as special players at same age. Skipp does not do that to me.

He's certainly not pretty to watch like Onomah and KWP but he's solid and reminds me of Kane at that age in terms of attitude.
There's something about him that makes me think he'll get there eventually due to his commitment, a home grown Scott Parker.

Special thanks to Dinzeyi for paying for my season ticket. City were 3/4 :ROFLMAO:

Yup that was big considering they had 1st team fringe players playing in Foden and Diaz. 1/2 was probably true price. As said most bookies are clueless when it comes to youth football.

I think you're harsh on Skipp. Relative to his position I think you could make a case he is on a similar level to KWP and Onomah at the moment. I think his attacking/passing side is underrated as he is restricted to certain roles, and I imagine it will eventually disappear, but as a DM he's the closest we've had to Veljkovic. And again they play the role in a very different style.

I have high hopes for Skipp and the way he has taken and dominated u23 football is reminiscent of Veljkovic and Onomah however stylistically he isn't on their level, and won't catch the eye as much. I think he's one of the best players I've seen in the academy. I reckon Skipp has the best chance of playing for us in the future based of his style, work ethic and ability. Also for those who may not have seen Skipp, I am by no means down playing his ability, it just isn't on Onomah's level, who had it all.

I think Skipp's potential at this moment is a top PL CM/DM

Thought I should add to this, Tushaun Walters, who I really liked has featured for Chelsea in their impressive season. He was a really good little LB for that age group, one of the best academy LBs I'd seen for us, who I would have expected to have joined as a scholar but for his injuries. Had he not been out for a season, I reckon he would have stayed and been a Hinds or similar level LB which would have really improved our team. Considering we released him after his injuries, it's making me think twice about whether we would keep Pedder. Granted Walters never got an England call-up but as I say he was injured for a long time, and he had Sessegnon and others ahead of him in his position, but to release a talented player after injuries suggests we might do it again. Of course though the coaches may just not have rated him, but that would surprise me.

Anyway, well done to him, for recovering from injuries, getting picked up by Chelsea (for squad cover mainly) and appearing to do well. Hopefully he'll move onto a decent club in the future.

I see Zenon and Chris Paul have been released from QPR. Hopefully they get picked up elsewhere.

Can't say I'm massivley surprised they've been released, I just checked and it seems like Owens gets played a lot, and I always rated him of Stylianides. I wouldn't be surprised to see Owens get used by QPR in the future, very Carrick like, but just needs to develop greater sense of authority.

That reminds me I saw @WindyCOYS retweet this. Shows the positive work Ramsey and Les are doing over at QPR. Probably why so many of our players are going there, as they know they may get some chances.
