Don't know if any things changed now but even after sancho moved to Dortmund Hercules was hinting that this whole thing isn't over and maybe some sort of fryers deal but hercs wanted it to be kept on the down low

Read into it what you want

I’m reading that that is highly unlikely myself.

There's a big gulf between Standard Liege to Borussia Dortmund.

I agree it's unlikely, just posted as I remembered and as I'm sure hercs passed it on in good faith so there must be something there

Also there were some odd things about the whole thing, that both sides of itk thought it was done and that Dortmund gave him they're number 7 shirt but then didn't include him in their champions league squad

I dunno but imo something's going/went on

Wonder how close sancho actually was and what went wrong.

Shitty threw their toys out of the pram because while they're quite happy to try and tap up our academy players they couldn't bear the thought of one of their own (who they poached in the first place anyway) going to another Premier League team where he'd actually get to play.

If Sancho didn't want to go to Dortmund, City couldn't make him.

That was a funny old game. England were cruising for 45-50 Minutes, then just stopped playing and eventually were lucky to hang on to the points.

The TOB sub was peculiar, McEachran had been doing a bad Dembele impression and dribbling the ball away a few times, costing a goal on one of them, but gets left on. At the very least I’d have just taken one of the two strikers off and gone theee in midfield and tried to stop Mexico playing through them so easily.

Obviously Sancho is the star turn, but I liked Foden as well, good technique. Both the kind of forwards the seniors are lacking.

I’d be seriously tempted to push Sancho up a level or two and get him fast tracked into the senior set up as soon as possible. The Seniors are desperate for some attacking invention.
Yup agree.Taking sancho to Russia would be less crazy call than when they took Walcott.imagine looking to bench and having sancho or Ox absolute no brainer.

What is Sancho's deal anyway - does Dortmund have him after next season? Is he going back to City after this year? Or is he free of a contract after this year? Didn't follow up once we were out.

Proper contract until 2020, he hasn't played a game for them yet, only some (3) youth matches scoring twice. He made the bench once or twice I believe, but never looked in danger of getting game time.

Oh so it's a proper transfer...assume there will be some kind of buy back or sell on clause in there somewhere.

I take it no one else agreed with my notion that KWP could possibly play as a cm?

I think he’s got the skill set personally, tenacious, dynamic, fantastic technique in tight situations, keeps his head up, moves the ball quickly but can also dribble past a man.

No one?

didn't even see it, must've got lost amongst all the sancho and pochettino posts ...

kwp's one of those players that just looks comfortable anywhere. i've seen him play rb, lb, rw, lw and #10 and he's never looked out of his comfort zone so i'm sure he'd be fine at cm as well but whilst being versatile is a benefit, i think it's best for him to focus on being a fb(preferably right) for now and it's not like we're short of cm prospects at the moment.

kwp can definately play as a cm because he is a total footballer, who is tactically, technically proficient. I mean it takes a very speacial talent to run games from fb as kwp has done at u23 level. And if I had to pick our lineup and it came down to him or Sissoko for a midfield role it would be Kyle all day. But like @Blake Griffin said we have plenty of excellent cm prospects coming through and kwp can go onto becoming a very special fb, which is a very important role in a poch team.
