The thing about Onomah is there’s absolutely no progression. Maybe he’s finding it hard to get motivated. But his work rate is truly shocking. Gary Neville would absolutely rip him to pieces “ he’s walking on a football pitch, Onomah is walking”

You know what looking closely at Onomah I don’t think his work rate has been that bad this game. He’s Following the spaces and his defensive position that Bruce has instructed him to. But I’m not a manager and I could be talking shit

I’d love to see his yards covered this season. Maybe he is really deceptive but I doubt it.

Taking a quick glance at the Villa match thread on reddit, it's safe to say their supporters aren't huge fans.

After the team was announced:

Fucking Onomah? Why?!

I think Albert is knackered tbh

Were we not allowed to play with 10?

After Onomah badly missed a shot:

Fucking lol. Nice try Onomah.

His head has properly dropped since he fucked up that shot. Just watch his movement. He's not moving in to space when he's near a teammate with the ball.

He's just walking around without any interest at all. I'd drag him off at half time.

He is a lazy fuck. Always has been. Just standing around expecting the ball to just land at his feet everytime.

At half time:

Brilliant first half, Leeds are shocking though!

Only complaint is how clumsy Onomah looks. Aside from that everyone's looking good.

There was this bit of positivity however:

Anyone else think onomah has been shite since he came?

I expect everyone thinks that. This is actually one of his better games. He's not done anything positive, but he's not actively fucking up, so that's something.

Yeah, I think he has been decent this game thus far.

I was going to say something similar. I was very critical of him after his England performance but at least tonight he's closing down and getting back into the right positions.
Still frustrating as if he stepped it up a couple of gears both defensively and in his movement in the final third he'd be starting ahead of Sissoko.

I really like Bennett’s. For about 18 months I think he’s been playing excellent.

Today aside from his two freekick beauty’s his work rate, in game management at the end and leadership towards his teammates was great to see.

Absolutely, and let’s not forget that he’s playing in an unbalanced with very little support.
