Also credit to Ryan Fredericks and Nathan Bryne. Both were in the team of the year at right back for the championship and league 1 teams respectively. Its Bryne's second time in the league 1 team, while Fredericks was always considered one of the best right backs in the league, but maybe lacking a bit of consistency. redit to both of them.

Ends 3:0 honestly cant remember the last time we beat Chelsea in a youth team match so comprehensively.

that was their first home loss at this level for over three years. i know they had a much-changed side but any win over them at u18s is impressive and they still had some regulars and quality internationals playing today, it wasn't our absolute strongest side either.

I think Skipp will be with senior squad next season. Will be 18 then. Not in official way as in white socks but how TOB was. Mixing and matching between seniors and U23. Not sure how tall he is close to 6ft. If he does grow a bit more could definitely fill the Dier DM/CB roll. Seems to have played CB quite a bit. Always handy to have an adaptable player like that.

Given our obvious CM issues, I feel as though skipp could slot right into the senior squad pretty seamlessly and actually get game time. He's a defensive mid but one that has forward qualities, something that none of our existing CMs really have. Good dribbler, passer and first touch to go with tracking and tackling. So promising

It's a big step to go from U23s to the first team, and I'm not sure if Skipp is ready for that. I definitely think he deserves chances in the cups next season, but the PL may be a step too far for now.

Expect Griffith, Hinds and Skipp to be called up to the u18s this season. Shame BLF got injured as I imagine he would have featured in a couple of games too
Isn't Griffiths leaving in the summer?

Skipp is basically everything Onomah isn’t . Dynamic aggressive , someone just tweeted me “ he looks like he’s played 250 games for Lincoln”? . He’s such a throw back old school midfielder.

Skipp is an excellent young player. My only concerns at the moment would be a lack of experience and possibly a lack of strength. There are some big units in the Premier League and considering Skipp's role he would need to be able to hold his own. I'd be very in favour of a loan spell asap to get him up against full grown men so he can feel that pace, power and experienced forward play.

with how kwp,jo and me integration has been handled so far i have zero expectations when it comes to any academy's players chance of breaking through. if any do happen to make the grade, it'll be a very pleasant bonus.

Cant fault his work rate, determination or attitude based on that vid.

Gone are the days where I had time to watch the youth but I would maybe worry about his technique and passing in a CM position in the 1st team. Liked the look of him at CB though.

Again just based on that vid. Is that accurate of him?

not really, there were a few aimless hoofs at the end which may influence your thinking but we'd been playing for 50 mins with 10 men by that point and were just seeing out a win. his passing and technique are solid, he's not some technical passing wizard but he's certainly not poor on the ball by any means either, he's more natural in possession than dier is imo. you can see him a bit more on the ball here, or here. he may end up at cb yet but would probably need to grow a bit to be considered there at first team level.

I have seen two full games and a series of his clips, but he really reminds me of Lewis Cook. Is that a worthy comparison?

don't think so. skipp is naturally more defensive, a midfield anchor. cook's more of a busy bee that does little things all over the pitch. tbh i'm not a massive cook fan so maybe that plays into me not seeing the comparison.
