Lovely finish by Amaechi. One of the players currently missing from the u17s who will be in the squad

smith-rowe has been outstanding. to think that the likes of he, blf, skipp etc have barely even featured for england shows just how strong that generation are.

You see this is the type of info most bookies are clueless about. Especially the lack of preparation. Cheers guys will do bit more research and take on England with a couple of teams.

Strangely ESR, is someone I feel is always called up, and I have never seen what is so special about him. Doesn't play a load for England and I don't watch Arsenal in depth, but he did look really impressive yesterday. As I say the scouts know what they're doing, so understand he was there for a reason, but it was good to see him play well yesterday.

Even Tariq Lamptey looks a good RB, and doesn't get sniff for that year group

Onomah starts on the bench for Villa. He’s been on brilliant form and Bruce decides to bench him...

u18s drew 1-1 with Watford. Cooper made his first appearance and got an assit. Basicaully nguaranteed to be here next year I'd imagine if he's featuring at the end up the season for u18s.

u16s won 4-1

josh came on for the last 10 mins and did well again apparently. seen quite a few villa fans saying they want him to start in the playoffs now which is quite the turnaround from a few weeks ago where it was more a case of him being the worst player ever.

I saw that too. So stupid. Our fans would read into all the negative comments when they're all just fickle. People don't need to make a judgement after every single match smh

crazy that some of our fans took every fickle thing villa fans said about josh as gospel, but fought tooth and nail with the likes of u and IG, when u guys tried to rationalnize the situation.

Spurs compete in a tournament in late July/early August this summer which should see the involvement of some youngsters. When we participated in this before we took 24 players including a good number of Dev Squad/Academy players (11, I think).

International Champions Cup 2018

Roma vs Tottenham, 26th July, San Diego
Barcelona vs Tottenham, 29th July, Pasadena
Tottenham vs AC Milan, 1st August, Minneapolis

First Team Players
Vorm (Leaving?)
Gazzaniga
Aurier
Davies
Walker-Peters
Foyth
Carter-Vickers
Wanyama
Onomah
Winks (England squad? Injured?)
Sissoko (France squad? Leaving?)
Lamela (Argentina squad?)
Lucas (Brazil squad?)
Nkoudou (Leaving?)
Janssen (Leaving?)
Llorente (Leaving?)

So that's 12-16 players depending on World Cup selection. Of those, we'd expect at least four or five to be leaving this summer. We also might have a couple of injuries (Winks?). Let's assume there are 10 of that list on the plane for our tournament. That leaves another 12-14 to take.

Development Squad Players

Given that we think Maghoma, Pritchard and Tracey will be released, and perhaps others too, and that Ogilvie, Harrison, Walkes and Loft will be sold or released as well, we might expect the following Dev Squad players to be involved if they're still at the club (assuming fitness):

Whiteman
Austin
Brown
Georgiou
Tanganga
Marsh
Amos
Shashoua
Edwards
Bennetts
Sterling

Let's assume there are eight of those players. That would leave 4-6 Academy players to travel, likely second years:

Academy

Hinds
Dinzeyi
Eyoma
Oakley-Boothe
Griffiths (Leaving?)

And possibly even some first years, though likely just Skipp.

I'll try to keep this up to date so we can keep track of who we might see in those matches.

It’s crazy RLC had one good game yesterday and he’s back on plane for Russia. If winks could play last 2 games still think he’d have a chance. There’s probably about 17 on plane for Russia so quite a few places up for grabs. And England has nobody like winks, think Southgate will do everything he can to get him on plane.

would guess it also depends on how far england and belgium in particular progress in the world cup, a group or last 16 exit would probably see them back in time to go on the tour. based on performances this season skipp and bennetts definitely deserve to be there, edwards too but of course he has a giant question mark hanging over him now, if he doesn't go on this trip then i think that's probably him done at spurs. tanganga will be at the u19 euros so will miss this which is a shame for him, dinzeyi or preferably eyoma could go instead. austin might be at the euros as well so we could see de bie go along with whiteman and gazzaniga, assuming vorm leaves at the end of his contract. amos' displays at stevenage deserve some recognition and sterling is in almost by default.

georgiou and tob have a good chance of going as poch likes them. walkes, ogilvie and harrison are difficult to say but i suspect their time is up and will be sold or back out on loan.

I was trying to find dates for the U19 Euros but couldn't find them - that's a real pity as it would have been a good chance for Tanganga to finally have a shot at staking a claim.

Do you think there's a chance that Georgiou will be moved on?

his contract runs until 2020 so probably not, he could definitely do with at least going on loan though as i don't see what he or spurs get out of him staying here. i'd be very surprised if either brown or marsh went as well. the euros run from 16th-29th of july so no chance of tanganga going on the tour, unless england go out at the group stage(unlikely) but even then it's a bit of a stretch.

I can’t see them releasing Tracey yet as they paid for him , so think he may get another year to see if they can get any money back for him . Skipp should go as TOB was taken last year and skipp has definitely earned it more than him . Would you really be awarding Edwards behaviour with the trip ? But then again they could take him to either give him a final chance or just to promote him , so he can be put in the shop window , he could bring in lots of money . Has sterling done enough , NO but again they seem to like him so exceptions can be made . Again marsh and brown could be put in shop window as can’t see them there for too much longer . Just my thoughts though
