What are people's views on Keenan Bennetts? He looks a player from the few snippets I have seen.

improved a lot this season, he's always had ability but he was one of those really frustrating players who'd undo any good work with poor decision-making or a lack of end product but now he's starting deliver more where it matters. he has a great physique, good pace and a wand of a left-foot, he's not bad shooting off his right either. still needs to develop in some areas, i think his movement could be better and he needs to get more involved in games even if it's just simply dropping of to play a pass here and there. he lacks that extra bit of guile/creativity that someone like edwards possesses but he's direct and is always a threat, right now he's enjoying playing on the wing but i still think his ceiling is higher as a wing-back if he were to dedicate himself to that role. he's a better player than danny rose was at his age and with similar attributes - and i was always a big fan of rose even back then.

I can’t see them releasing Tracey yet as they paid for him , so think he may get another year to see if they can get any money back for him . Skipp should go as TOB was taken last year and skipp has definitely earned it more than him . Would you really be awarding Edwards behaviour with the trip ? But then again they could take him to either give him a final chance or just to promote him , so he can be put in the shop window , he could bring in lots of money . Has sterling done enough , NO but again they seem to like him so exceptions can be made . Again marsh and brown could be put in shop window as can’t see them there for too much longer . Just my thoughts though
Tracey's been on trial elsewhere so I think it's likely he'll be off - IMO he's not been close to the mark in terms of overall technical ability. I think they thought they saw something that just wasn't there.

Totally agree about Skipp > TOB.

Totally agree about Bennetts, I would love to see him dedicate himself to the wing-back role because he has all the attributes Poch desires in a LB/LWB. His performance for a 10 man Spurs against Chelsea was incredible. It will be exciting to potentially see him get an opportunity to train/play with the first team during the preseason. Do you think if we sell Rose, and Bennetts has a good preseason he has a chance to make some appearances with the first team next season? (I realize much of that depends on if we bring in a Sessegnon or Shaw in the summer window)

FWIW. and I said this few months back. He is very highly regarded as possible WB, and possibilities he ‘may’ even be training with first team squad, as we begin to groom him long-term. I said ‘possibilities’.

I think we'll learn a lot about Bennetts over the next year; I didn't think Bennetts was quite good enough to play as an AM in our set-up, and was adamant that he needed to play LWB or even LB, but as the season progressed he scored more and more goals through good footwork at the edge of the box, which makes me think it's not all over for him at AM.

I'd be taking advantage of the Stevenage relationship to give him a few months at least there next season. Them, or Wycombe, who play a 4-3-3 under Ainsworth which would suit him quite nicely.

I think it is absolutely necessary to get the kids that are on the fringe or showing real signs of developing into loan spells as early as possible. Doesn’t matter the level per se, the just need to get into a situation where they are playing against grown men.

I am all for system based tutelage but at some point you have to start plying your trade in a real world situation.

Like a dental assistant that practices for hours on fake teeth that finally steps into some real pearly whites.

josh came on for the last 10 mins and did well again apparently.
prior to Josh coming on, Villa looked like they only had one plan, to run down the wing and cross (which they were shite at)

then Josh comes on and gives them drive down the guts, and they equalize soon after.

Villa fans are just salty that he isn't theirs.

Do you think josh will be given another chance to impress at spurs ?

Absolutely no way would KWP have been beaten by his man as many times as Trippier tonight. :censored:
i like KWP and want him to be one of two RBs at the club next season....also take @Hercules point about Aurier's upside.
Games like this are a bit puzzling for me when it comes to Trippier....wonder whether he should be the other RB only because of how good he can be going forward AND it seems like Poch may consider going to a back three next season...Trippier in a back 3/5 is probably better than Aurier.

Guess that the counter point is that Aurier has more upside which is an understandable POV.

IF Trippier leaves, he will always be welcomed back with my gratitude, he has been a solid pro for us and a patient one to be honest....has bought into the collective backing up walker over the years

I thought Trippier did well, but I do wonder if a better attacker, which I feel KWP generally is, would be as good if not better option.

KWP’s situation epitomises what any of our young players will experience. We have good to excellent, established pros, who have an element of versatility, which reduces opportunities for KWP et al. I really like seeing youngsters given a go but Tripps has been a great player, lots of assists, and I’ve yet to see Aurier make that spot his own, so selling Tripps for an as yet inconsistent Aurier with an inexperienced back up might be a bit risky

Hes not going to get a look in there if we want him to get a run at left back. Jacobson plays there and is an important player for them as he takes all their set pieces.

Further forward then sure, but they do have quite a few attackers, although Im not sure how many are out of contract in the summer.
