just watched the 2nd game and #11(roshaun mathurin?) looked good, similar style of player to j'neil bennett.

edit: watched the final, bayern were the better side so we were a bit fortunate to win - with possibly shortest the penalty shoot-out in history?

is #10 omari forson? he looks too strong and athletic for this age group, i get the feeling he'd possibly be better off being pushed up a year.

Mathurin did look good, never seen him much before, always was more impressed by Williams on the other wing but Mathurin does look quite slick.

The shame about Forson here is that he is a lot more technical ability than he displayed in the games shown. He was very much, get the ball get to the wing, sprint and out muscle everyone. He has used his size before but I have also seen him show a lot more skill, technique and good link up play before, which is probably what he is having to show more when he plays up, however I guess if you can use your physique to your advantage you might as well.

What also amused me and serves as a reminder to their age, is some of the shocking deicions making and lack of concentration from some of them. Tbf I've seen first teamers doing it, but literally pumping the ball over the head of an unmarked man standing 6 metres away or the CBs going completely missing. Bayern could have had 5 goals in the first minute. Maguire had very good hands.

Also we were massively helped by referees decision not to send Walters off on 19min for last man challenge.

I haven't been through the whole player thread yet but speaking of the Barca player. Are ours fans getting excited about seeing a highly rated yet untested Barca youth product, who left as he didn't see a route to their first team, join our club and respecting that he isn't chasing money but first team football - while simultaneously calling our academy product impatient for leaving as he didn't see a route to the first team, but ours fans saying he's no loss as if he was good enough he would have been playing first team football? Has this happened yet?

I've not looked but over at BarcaCommunity, IGBarca seems very knowledgeable and thinks it's a good move as Valverde isn't giving players a chance and only Messi and Dani Alves-Peters have really made the breakthrough. Other posters claim the if Puig was good enough he would be in the first team and obviously hadn't proved himself in training yet. BarcaConductor pointed out that Puig is a busy little **** and is already better than Paulinho.

I said when we took him from Loughbrough that he was very, very highly rated. Its a shame we weren't able to keep him at the club. after all we were his only club.

They recognised his ability, same with Inglethorpe and Cochrane they will look for bigger opportunities. It's why we've produced such high quality players, coaches worthy of being poached.

Shame he's got to have any sense of wonder or the beautiful game drummed out of him by Mourinho, but fair play to the lad.

England u18s drew 2-2 with Uruguay. Eyoma started and Kirby scored a pen for those interested

He just retweeted this - I'm starting to lean on the side of, he's actually a bit of a knob...

Got to be honest, don't get a particularly good vibe from him. Don't like his personality on social media - seems to be very fond of himself, and if we're not offering a new contact, I am now starting to see why.

Seriously though, there arent too many footballers who arent idiots at 18, shit look at the music industry there is tweets from artists/personalities when they were normal people at 18 that is now haunting them.

I think we unfairly judge kids too much.

Also we were idiots at 17, only problem is that now people arent allowed to forget their mistakes and their thoughts are being aired to thousands and even people who arent footballers, have thousands of followers who in turn help in their heads validate their attitude and thinking

People paying lots of attention to what kids are tweeting need to find a bit of perspective. It may be a bit silly but really you shouldn't be reading it.
