Seriously though, there arent too many footballers who arent idiots at 18, shit look at the music industry there is tweets from artists/personalities when they were normal people at 18 that is now haunting them.

I think we unfairly judge kids too much.

Also we were idiots at 17, only problem is that now people arent allowed to forget their mistakes and their thoughts are being aired to thousands and even people who arent footballers, have thousands of followers who in turn help in their heads validate their attitude and thinking

As @WindyCOYS has said previously - theses players get media training and agents from an early age, advising them against tweeting/posting silly things like this.

You can't media train someone not to be 17 - give the kid a break.

"Right lads, remember, don't tweet or like anything on social media to do with transfer rumours or potential transfers etc - it'll only cause problems for yourself as well as all other parties involved"

**Reo Griffiths proceeds to like and retweet news articles linking him with a transfer away from Spurs**

Come on mate, it's not hard. You learn how to follow simple instructions when you're 7, let alone 17.

Totally agree ,I am guessing this is probably exactly what happened with Edwards , did spurs not learn the first time . mistakes they made giving in to big-name players like Edwards , and now they’re doing it again with Griffiths . They have probably given him and his agent everything they have asked for to keep him there . But as I have previously said it’s only a matter of time before we see the re-occurrence of what happened with Edwards . If he is behaving like this now , do you believe in all honesty that he will remain true to the club once the big clubs come knocking with big money offers

Yep and it was a DAILY STAR article he tweeted as well...

Seems like he has a bad attitude to me, don't care if he's 17 it's still old enough to act properly. He hasn't even made a senior squad yet ffs!

Think there's a balance between thinking Griffiths is a bit of a berk for tweeting some deliberately provocative stuff and thinking he's got 'an attitude problem'. For all we know he's been messed about by the club all year and is frustrated. We can't always assume the player's 100% in the wrong even if they perhaps should think harder about what they post on social media.

On the other hand, sometimes I've felt that people seem insistent that everything is always Poch's fault or the club's fault, and refuse to acknowledge that there may be other factors at play (e.g. bad attitude).

17 and already with the opportunity to earn a professional, highly lucrative, public facing career doing something you presumably love.

Not 17, directionless and trying to skip college, job, parents, responsibility...

Huge difference.

He just retweeted this - I'm starting to lean on the side of, he's actually a bit of a knob...

Got to be honest, don't get a particularly good vibe from him. Don't like his personality on social media - seems to be very fond of himself, and if we're not offering a new contact, I am now starting to see why.

As others have said the retweeting and stuff is clearly attention seeking, but the being fond of yourself stuff is very standard for people of his age.

If anyone follows Sancho, Nelson, Maghoma and countless other names, all they do is film themselves pouting. It is really cringey for us, but you should also be aware that the majority of their followers are going to be teenage girls who obviously find that kind of stuff appealing. People need to remember it's not for you. Even the retweeting interest in Barca, could be him just showing off to his friends or girls he likes. Remember we're not at the forefront of his mind, and nor should we be.

Again this is the reason why I don't necessarily post negative information of youth players behind the scenes. Griffiths is welcome to do it himself, but he has already made himself an enemy via being immature before he has even come close to making it. If he did get a chance people will remember these things and he has already created an uphill battle. It's like Edwards and his contract situation where people were calling him arrogant for not signing. If they don't 'appear' to be a good kid working hard then they aren't looked at favourably, but no one knows how hard these kids work. Sancho has proven himself and I guarantee you, would think he's a knob watching his instagram. Just look past it, and remember their age and their friendship groups, and what they use social media for

I had written my previous post before reading this, but 1) if the club are treating Griffiths like he is Edwards that is madness. I highly doubt that. 2) what makes you think we gave into Edwards at all, he was being offered a lot more money from other clubs than we were offering him. Just because someone doesn't want to sign straight away as they want to know that they will get chances, just like KWP did it doesn't mean we're giving into them or their knobs. In the end Edwards signed for less money, for a club he has grown up with and showed incredible trust and faith in our manager, and it has still worked against him, both to the fans and his career. He might as well just effed off and taken the money. He has already remained true when the big clubs came in

I think everyone agrees young teenagers may be a bit of a pain in the arse one way or the other. Surely all staff and coaches are aware of this. Also there are other factors, like mental health that affect our academy players, and I know in some cases, real personal issues with families, that can no doubt affect their behaviour. The point of man managing, especially if there is a particularly talented kid is you use your skills, to reign them in and manage their behaviour to get the best out of them. It's not like they're criminals, in the main they're just confident kids who have had smoke blown up their backside for 15 years.

I heard a story where one of our very highly rated academy players, was getting a bit lippy with one of the coaches after an away match. The coach, threatened to leave if he didn't get on the bus. He didn't so we left him, he was more than capable to get home on his own. But there are no doubt, players they wouldn't do that with as they no these players. These guys are experience coaches they should be able to deal with a bit of a 'bad attitude'.

If they are good enough, like I say, short of being Nile Ranger or Joey Barton, surely they should have the experience to deal with the bad behaviour rather than turning to the 'they're a bit cocky' excuse to justify not choosing them.

Good to see BLF back so soon. Good selection of strikers too. Know if there are any streams?

Milos Veljkovic has officially made the Serbia provisional squad. Happy for him, I can see him starting as a CB for them, they’re pretty weak in that area. Him and Nastasic could make a decent partnership

Why does who he’s trying to impress matter?

I don’t care if he’s trying to impress his mum, gran or dog retweeting something about yourself like that is dickhead behaviour, especially with all his kind of like teasing that he’s leaving posts before.

Yes maybe he’s just a dickhead because he’s young but very few other youth players pull similar stunts so I don’t really buy that, cringey videos are fine and not really the same as what Reo has done, and I’d much rather we promote them then someone who loves themselves as much as Griffiths clearly does.
