So he is technically so good he’s better then Winks, Dele or Eriksen? Your having a laugh.

If Josh is so technically adept what is holding him back? Personality, intelligence, aggression, drive? What’s lacking?

I understand why people are keen that the likes of Onomah and Edwards become regular first team players but there is clearly something missing. Every day in top flight football is a huge challenge, the competition is intense, only a tiny % have the strength of character to cope with it. Perhaps I'll be proved wrong but there is nothing to suggest they have the desire and mental strength, allied with talent, to make the grade.

he would get what skipp got if he was not injured

i disagree i think he would have got more his older and more experienced he had a good loan he was getting game time pre season i think Poch would have used him to freshen things up and the end of the game and spare putting though Dembele and winks 90 minutes at times, his only got to do the simple things well, pass the ball quickly and close people down and add energy.

I don't class dele or Eriksen as CMs.

Yes, i think hes got more technical ability than winks. I think he's lacking restraint more than anything.

Whenever he got minutes at Spurs, albeit in not his natural position, he never looked settled the way Winks did. He looked nervous, the ball was always getting stuck under his feet, and he often would make poor decisions. I don't blame him for being full of nerves. But I think that's the crucial difference. Winks looks fearless, and has a toughness to him, which he needed to get over the injury hell he went through. Josh just seems a little softer.

Bennetts struggled at both LB and LWB and to be fair I am not sure he wanted to play that position and at the end of his time at Spurs you could see he was not happy playing there, much more effective as a winger.

In that light maybe not so bad we didn't manage to keep him then as couldn't see him making as left winger with us tbh.

I'm pleased for him and everything but can't imagine the pressure he is under. Best player in the world roasts, him "I don't think he's ready yet". Knows a MOTM performance guarantees him nothing but the smallest slip up and he might not be seen again.

Then I await, "if he can't handle that pressure then he isn't ready to play for Spurs" All I can say is good luck to the player who looks a shadow of his former self at the moment, and if he has a great game, hope for him more than anything he gets another chance and can actually start his career.
I think we all understand your point of view with this one mate. But this goes just as easily the other way. Pochettino seems to keep kids involved but barely playing (Foyth didn't play in the PL once last season), then all of a sudden something clicks and they're thrown in to play a long run of games in a pressure scenario. Mason, Foyth, Winks all went through this process. Pochettino didn't have to start Foyth or Mason in their respective games at the Emirates; once you've gained his trust, he'll truly trust you in any scenario. Hopefully a good performance tonight is that moment for KWP; I honestly don't think it's anywhere near as far away or as unlikely as you believe.

excellent 1st half, playing some absolutely lovely football. Hard to pick standouts because they've all been very good. The whole back 5 along with Bowden and TOB desrve massive credit for the consistently strong way they've played out from the back bracking Barca's press regularly. Best game from TOB post injury problems.
