Incredibly strong bench. I think both Solanke and Abrahan are better than CL. Onomah is better than Davies.

I think DaSilva is a better LB than KWP too. Think KWP should be starting at RB though. Where's Wan-Bissaka pretty sure he was in the squad

the u21s usually do a full rotation between games more or less so would expect most of that bench to start on tuesday against scotland.

Ye good point. Still frustrating to watch KWP at LB, would rather Sessegnon play there which is ultimately where his future will most likely lie, then KWP can play RB so they can both stretch the play. Can imagine it being a very slow turgid game now.

KWP playing really well once again. not sure why they always stick with freaking jonjo Kenny on the right though

Being quite aggressive with his passing. Linking up well with Foden and Sessegnon. Still frustrating that we will never see his full potential stuck out there

Really pleasing performance I think having Sessegnon on the left who's very limited in his attacking ability allowed us to keep the width while KWP tucked in. I also think a lot of individual talent managed to express itself, rather than Boothroyd stumbling on some magical formula. Really pleased to see Nelson come on and show what he can do. Another quality winger, and hopefully not another who will be stuck at a big club, once his loan is finished. A lot of quality attacking talent in that age group, and I like that Southgate via the other age groups is helping to provide that pathway for them and fast track them

Sounds good from KWP, also excited about Skipp after him winning the PL2 September POTM as surely he’s one of the younge r players there. Pochettino surely has to be at the point where he’s assessing if there’s greater worth in player these two than Aurier (who I actually like) and Sissoko.

The Guardian has done a piece identifying the best youth talent at each of the Premier League clubs: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...0-of-the-best-talents-at-premier-league-clubs

From us they've picked a kid called Harvey White, who I'm sorry to say I've never even heard of. Supposedly he's mainly a left-footed DM but has played CB and LB before, with excellent set-piece delivery. Does anyone know much more about him? I'm far from an expert when it comes to our academy but there are 4 or 5 players I've heard earmarked as talents before and his name has never been among them so I'm a bit surprised by the choice to be honest. That's not to say he isn't a talent, I've just never heard him mentioned by Windy etc. is all.

i honestly keep flip flopping in my mind which sr rb kwp should replace, all i know is he should be replacing one of them.

atm it's trippier i think defensively his positioning is totally unbalancing our defensive shape, and his world class delivery paper over that offensively he is very one dimensional.

not sure if you're aware but this is just for first year players, not the entire academy. the article does a good job of describing him and highlighting his strengths, i think he's grown a bit since last year as well as he struggled a little bit physically when i saw him play up with the u18s last season but then he also stood out when we had an u17 squad out in italy. i would have thought that troy parrott would be the guardian's pick for us and if not him then j'neil bennett as both have had a bit more exposure but that's not to discredit white who is showing a lot of ability himself.

Preach. KWP should get his minutes and we should have sold him after he had his highest possible value, kind of surprising Levy didn't recognize that opportunity. KWP is the future and we need to start letting that future shine. Skipp taking Sissokos minutes would be refreshing as well.

I’d be happy with either, and no because I dislike either as I think both are good enough, but both also have hit their ceiling pretty much whereas Walker-Peters seems to be special.

As for Skipp, I’ve seen only a little of him in pre season, but he appears to have everything we’d want in a long term Dembele replacement (different style player I know) but we’ll never know until he plays.

In a way I think Trippier should be a super sub player for the moment and cover. I've had his back previously but his defensive nous has been seriously lacking so far this season. If I was a manager I would consider moving him further up field or play him on a right side of a 3. Where his scoots upfield would be less taken advantage of. When sissokko came on against barca and covered him I thought it worked quite well. Though we probably don't have time or opportunity to experiment with players. Though I understand in the youth ranks at City tripps was a midfielder. His through balls passing range and vision are all very very decent. Seems to see balls better than our midfielders too.

Obviously this is in mind of giving KWP his opportunity which I really would like to see.

Ah sorry, should've read the top of the article properly. No wonder I haven't heard of him if he's only a first-year scholar!

Cheers for sharing your thoughts. Will keep an eye on him from now on!
