onomah playing fairly well so far, taken the ball under pressure a few times and evaded it well, moved the ball forwards and almost scored towards the end of the half. was dispossessed once which led to holland breaking but other than that he's had a good game.

Am I correct about 18 months ago KWP was ahead of TAA for England?

not really, kwp's a year older so they weren't playing in the same age group until a year ago but even then kwp was mostly being played at lb with kenny at rb.

Onomah for me was much of the same and how I always comment on him. Ok there have been a few errors at times, but mostly when he sees the ball he does something positive and makes a good choice - good burst forward, or a well weighted pass, etc. However, unfortunately, he just doesn't see enough of the ball, he's not busy enough and doesn't look for enough work. He's happy at times to just stroll and let the game go on around him.

This isn't a good U21 team (as ever), its mainly each individual trying to do their own thing and very few phases of play are being strung together so it's difficult at times to play in, but Onomah has got to show more intensity in a 90 minutes and be hungry for work - both with and without the ball.

While I agree you got to remember that this is his first game since May and just came back from injury

Oh come on it’s the same old same old. If you really think Onomah is suddenly gonna metamorphosis into a player with energy and drive you’re being very optimistic. You look at Ampadu tonight at 17 in the heart of midfield in a full international. You don’t have to hope and search for good moments. It’s obvious in 10 minutes he is quality. I hate to say but much like the new kid at Arsenal. We’ve been trying to make a case for onomah for 3 years. If a player is really good it shouldn’t be this hard to make a case for him.

What a load of s*it
He’s always been impressive when he’s played at CM if you can’t see that then you don’t understand football. And while he might look lazy his defensive stats says otherwise most of the times

England’s U21 manager plays boring football with little energy, that’s not Onomah’s fault.
Didn’t see the Wales game but it sounds like Giggs tactics where to play with a lot of energy

Would've been interesting if Onomah was Welsh. Would've been capped in 15/16 upon appearing for Spurs. I suspect his reputation would be much different if he had.
