Forget maghoma is just 17 sometimes. He really could be anything. Pretty inconsistent but does some great things. I hope Skipp maghoma Binks all play in the UYL. We could have a great team this season.

Anyone know the formation? With no natural wide players could it be 352 with marsh third cb and roles off Harrison?

Paris has always been one of the best ballers in the academy, not sure why he's so underrated in here

I think he’s been pretty inconsistent. Can look a world beater then disappear. I did wonder how much was his physical attributes. But appears his now holding his own in U23, and considering he only turned 17 two weeks ago, it’s a promising sign. He certainly has the physique and natural ability. Just about application and consistency now. You feel he has a higher ceiling than someone like TOB or Amos. Can deliver special moments, which I’ve not really seen from the other two mentioned. Although Amos and TOB are technically sound, they are a bit more steady eddy than Maghoma.

I think playing maghoma up is more about getting him to sign a new contract and not losing him like we did Griffiths . His physicality is definitely helping him , and having the older players around him is good for him . Hopefully he can keep it up but let’s see . Amos was poor tonight , he should be out on loan for sure , not doing him any favours playing him with the 23s . Skipp did well again . Roles worked his socks off , and was involved in both goals again , but is such an underrated player at spurs , another one who I think should go on loan to get the credit that he deserves .Austin was superb again . Donot understand why Tanganga was on bench , baffling to say the least . Im sorry I just can’t see it with Oakley booth even with his small cameo . Binks did well for another young one . Harrison needs to move on for his own good .

Did Man City have a strong team out?

Surely any positive result against them is as good as beating Chelsea.

i don't really know too much about their team as a lot of them are foreign but their average age was a bit less than ours - 17.9 vs 18.6. it's a good win but i wouldn't read too much into results in the u23s, the u18s win over chelsea was more significant given their sustained domination at that level.

Edwards looked pretty good, been very positive on the ball, involved in 1st goal. They look to play football, should be a good loan for him.

he's been diligent in his defensive work tracking runners and winning the ball back a few times, would like to see him more involved in forward areas though. so far a decent first start for him and excelsior look a lot better than they did last game but there's way more to come from him if they can get him on the ball more. he's playing the "salah" position which imo suits him best so it's all there for him.

just got an assist to make it 2-0, bit of a tom carroll assist but caps off an excellent 2nd half from him, i'd almost forgotten what a joy he is to watch.

most fouled, most dribbles and joint most tackles(!) of any player on the pitch. he was guilty at times of trying to do too much but that should improve with experience, a lot of the time it's unnecessary as we know he can strike the ball really well so he doesn't always need to work himself into the most optimal position before getting a shot off. he's still so smooth with the ball though and i lost count at the amount of times he drew his opponent in before spinning and leaving them for dead. shame excelsior contrived to throw away a two goal lead but plenty of positives for marcus to take away from his own performance.

Good loan for Edwards to play in such a spursy team lol
