I think what you can see is that he's a lovely, lovely footballer but there was a massive amount of hype on the kid that has just heaped tons of unnecessary pressure on him and generated ridiculous amounts of expectations and impatience with his progress.
He is got a lovely touch and lovely balance and his low centre of gravity helps him slip past players without having express pace.
The reality check is that he isn't a world beater. He isn't going to tear up the Eredivie like the Brazilian Ronaldo did or Messi would have done. He's a lovely footballer not a world beater.
Please adjust your expectations.
He could potentially be a world beater, but development has been handled poorly. Sancho doing well, Nelson scored on debut for Hoffenheim yesterday too.
Edwards is basically on their level or was until the last couple of years. No guarantee any of them will be World Class but he's been one of England's best and most exciting prospects for last few years.
He has more than enough ability to have featured in our first team more than 19mins. All the reasons were given as to why he hasn't to were due to his attitude and workrate, however doesn't seem to be problem in Eredivisie
Sam off at 56th minute
He's a different type of player. He doesn't have the explosive pace of a Brazilian Ronaldo (as the poster before you mentioned) and he doesn't have the raw power either. But he does have very good technical ability and that will show in time.
Players like Sancho are far more direct however similarly to a player like Eriksen it will take time for a more technical player like him to really show his qualities at top level.
Jeremy Sarmiento, Charlton's big talent has gone to Benfica so is there with Willock. He was chased by City, so good choice.
Also @Blake Griffin how did Crowley get on yesterday?

Sancho was always a better prospect than Edwards. I'd say Nelson is more on his level.
The problem with Edwards is that rumours off the pitch, have warped opinions on how he plays on the pitch. He's never been lazy or ill-disciplined when he's played. But for some reason people (mainly those who haven't seen him play) have filled in the blanks for themselves or people have gone to watch him with that idea in their mind and will see whatever they want to see.
what is his ceiling in your opinion if you were to compare him to a current day player? also to be fair it was our manager who ramped up most of the hype and expectations when he publicly compared him to messi, what a few posters on forums/social media say is insignificant by comparison.
Do you put Sancho in his own class then? I'd definitely have Edwards, Foden, Nelson in the same level, as they were coming through the academies though there a slight differences, and I'd usually include Sancho in there.
