In what way? The bloke was an utter joke. The fact he's masquerading on the bench for a middle of the road polish team says plenty. It's the same with Marsh now. Why the club do this is beyond me.

Harsh, as in the lad is young, always gave 100% and never seemed to cause any problems. Admittely he is very limited but how you can show so much vitriol towards a youth team player probably says more about you than it does about him.

Can someone check and see if @IGSpur is still breathing, he might need mouth to mouth. Oliver Skipp starts.

Was going to say it's unfortunate that KWP missed out but then I saw Skipp starting and completely understood. Great for him. One a season is really the most I expect and even if we don't see him for the rest of the season and regardless of the circumstances surrounding it, I am so pleased he's got this opportunity. He's a very reliable player so not surprised to see Poch put faith in him. but am surprised to see him start. Reckon he'll have a good game. Anyone checked to see if Poch is sick lol

Ig did you see the program on young players after the Barca game.

Joey Barton had a few good points, he was saying agents stop the kids going on loan I case the loan goes badly and the player looses value.
stevie Gerard was saying that it’s hard work, dedication and loving football, more than talent. So many kids don’t get it till to late they waste there talent.

Skipp always strikes me like Kand and Winks a soldier who worlds hard and knows what they have to do to be successful.

Eyoma on the bench too.

Don't really get why he's on the bench or is he really the last player than can play CB left. I really rate him and wouldn't be surprised Poch does but if there is an injury to our CBs are we really expecting him to come on at CB? I guess so, and what an opportunity that would be for him. Though I hope it doesn't happen of course

Na missed it mate. I can see the bit about agents, heard some bad stories. Not surprising to hear they look out for themselves.

The bit about Gerrard well it's a given, it's subjective and a very English mentality. The images that conjures up are the types that get chances here. What does hardwork look like? Typically you're English bulldog type player. Other countries will bring through more languid, skillful players who are more risky we don't. I don't think any manager would ever give a player a chance who doesn't 'work hard'. It's more the type of player you are.

Vertonghen, Foyth and Sanchez are injured and Dier has a virus. Davies is playing in central defence.

I think he is right, I don’t think it’s an English mentality ( I take it you mean first team opportunities ) I think it’s a kid mentality amongst young players they meant. You need to keep pushing yourself and improving to be a success, I suppose for a lot of youn men it’s very easy for them, then as they get to the next level, playing against Men who are dedicated if you don’t carry on improving and working you suddenly fall by 5hevway side. Poch has said something similar, I think he gives lots kids chances to train and some are not mentally ready to be a professional to his standard.
