For several players its now or never time Roles and Georgiou both have contracts up in the summer and the club has not yet moved - Harrison is probably in the same spot and his chance has surely gone not sure about Sterling but he at least made the bench

I would be surprised if Roles contract was up
In the summer. I would also be surprised if he does not get game time soon.

P.s IG what have you done to the front page of Spurs community, you vandal!!!

I would imagine roles would get an extention, considering his push on this year. Wouldnt be surprised if georgiou also did but same if he didn't. Someone mentioned he was being tried out as a left back, which would probably suit his simple pattern play.

Georgiou has played LB loads of times over the years.

Were our youth watchers aware of Declan Rice in the last few years or has he just suddenly come to the fore this season.
By the way he is playing, if he elects to play for England he will be straight into the England squad, as we are not exactly overflowing with CM talent .

That's if he decides to extend. I'm pretty sure he is a Spurs fan though so he will likely let his heart rule his head and stick it out here in the hope he gets his chance

I had known about him but not paid particular attention as he played for Ireland so wasn't too bothered. He's another in the 99 age group along with Nketiah that were released by Chelsea, which again emphasises how good they are that he wasn't good enough for him.

He's a good player but I don't consider him a loss per se if England lose him there are more talented players about than him, however what will make it seem like a major loss is because he is a player getting chances, something that is gold dust.

Btw Tobi Oluwayemi captained one of the England u16 matches, and Michael Craig has been called up to Scotland u16s to face France and Hungary

I know what you mean about the music . For me this small piece on Roles shows so much. The fact that most of his play just in these 3 games that we are seeing are forward passes or creative play . Also exciting play and not your bog standard 3 yard pass back or to the side , which we often see in clips of youngsters posted on this site . From this short piece alone this tells me this lad just needs a chance and a club that is going to believe and trust in him . I think if we cant integrate a lad like this who clearly shows a football intelligence and clear ability , what is the point of having an academy.

I've never seen Roles play so I'll take your word for his talent, if correct then his lack of progress will be purely down to lack of application. Every day coaches will be impressing on him the importance of playing as a team. Elsewhere the likes of Edwards and Onomah have been discussed at length, their ability is not in doubt but clearly something is missing. EVERY player finds his level.

As I said I've never seen Roles, nobody will be happier than me if like Kane and Winks he becomes a regular starter.

Roles has never been a problem and has a good attitude he is a good Lad as they say and he is not a lazy player he has been this year by far our best u23 player,What more does he have to do.

Nobody is calling for Roles for the sake of it more like calling for Roles because he Deserves it.

depends on the criteria you're using i guess. if we just go purely by the quality and quantity of talent each academy is pumping out then chelsea are top, even when they have an army of players out on loan they still have competitive sides at u18 and u23 level so that just shows the depth of talent they have. also in fairness to them, whilst they do supplement their academy with kids brought in from abroad, the vast majority they already have there are local. after them i would say us, arsenal and utd are on a similar footing, at some point we might have the best group and at another it might be either of the other two. arsenal's academy was on a bit of a barren-run for a while but they've really picked up again in the past 2-3 years, i don't know if they're doing something different or it's just a hot streak but they have some very talented players coming through. utd and us are quite similar in that we both steadily produce good players with the occasional very good one amongst them. city's academy is basically a mini version of their first team, they buy in players from all over and stick them together, i'm reluctant to even call what they have an academy but this year neither of their teams are doing very well. liverpool aren't much different in that regard either, they don't seem to have an abundance of local talent so they hawk around other clubs for the best 15-16 year olds.

where we're different though is the type of player we focus on, it's no coincidence that we have so many smaller than average players throughout the ranks. ideally you'd have players with the perfect blend of athleticism/physique and technical ability but if we can't get those with both then we'll prioritise the latter and bank on them being late-developers physically.

Why can’t we get bigger players? We are one of the top 10 clubs in the world and we are picking up midgets and dregs? What the hell is that all about?

I’m hearing kaziah Sterling May be given miniutes against Chelsea . He is definitely ready by looking at his body physically. It’s whether he can cut it against fully grown men . The point I’m making is if we don’t give him a chance and try him , how will we ever know . The big question is do we do that against Chelsea .

Sean Longstaff of Newcastle...21yrs old ....getting good reviews after 2 games last week. By his record he has never been near an England team and yet again only gets his chance because of injuries.
It is as if managers do not have the courage to put these players in on merit. The decision has to be made for them.

Not disputing your info, but surely it will be bench again. And then you’d think it will depend how the game pans out.

In regard to Rice I followed West Ham pretty closely as the stadium implosion was pretty amusing. They were hopeful on Burke Cullen and Rice. Was always pretty obvious to me that Rice was a class act, he just has a presence about him on the pitch. He’s not one of those players you have to search for on the pitch he just stands out. Must saw never heard a word about diagane, but they seem to pick up a lot of big club cast offs at about 14/15.

I’m pretty sure sterling won’t start , and you are right in saying they will see how the game pans out
