An own goal Daniel Levy.

Despite the awesome things you have done for us you fucked up big time here, in terms of marketing and the opportunity to take a big step to the next level.

Moving into the allegedly best stadium in Europe should have been coupled with at least two marquis players where the other players fans, media and the world would stand up and take notice. This would lead to companies and / or corporations falling over themselves to do a naming rights deal with us, where you Daniel Levy could then name your price.

Despite the stadium costs I am sure you had the money to buy said players and should have come out of you self imposed comfort zone and be brave and overspend for once if necessary. This money would have been recouped in no time.

Suffice me, holding a college diploma, telling you an economics graduate with 1st class honours degree from Cambridge how you should have done business, but your negotiating method and stance is dated, and it has come back and bitten you in the ass.

You fucked up Daniel big time, plain and simple.

Take it from someone who has been wearing the BSODL mantle for years.

We really need to bring our league into line with other leagues as this early transfer window closure has and will continue to fuck us over. It sucked when it stayed open beyond the start of the season too so either Europe agrees to close their transfer window early (which would make the most sense) or we need to adjust our league start dates. But this is a shit show and could seriously diminish the buying power of English clubs.

What with the hyper inflated transfer fees, it was a seriously weird TW. £71m goalkeepers etc. What the fuck.

I will reflect with no emotion, as at the moment I am farking ballistic.

Why there is a little semblance of understanding. I fear how far we are taking the piss out of Poch. If we made T4 (which I doubt) that will be another reason for DL to procrastinate further. Any little sign of unrest from within the squad etc, will see him regrettably race to do deals quick in January to appease all.

It does not make good reading, and I personally believe DL should stick to the commercial aspect of running the club, and let someone else handle the transfers, without his interference.

And I again for one minute do not buy all the PR spin doctoring ‘all is well’.

Are ITKs allowed to bash other ITKs?

I see no reason to doubt the integrity of JJs information, and in fact trust him the most.

Only club in the top 5 European leagues not to sign a player.

Utter bollocks, of course we needed to add one or two.

Yes we are strong when every player is fit and firing. How many times did we manage to field our strongest eleven last season?.

We needed to strengthen, address a midfield nursing injuries and Dembele's ongoing decline. Not to mention maybe a player that transitions from deep to attack by way of swift, precise passing.

I'm not even overly bothered by the WF failure. Lamela and Moura up to speed allows me to excuse this.

But feck me, brand new stadium, one of the World's best I'm hearing...No, let's not make a statement signing, or at least one we need.

Far better to sign no-one and potentially be a laughing stock from the get-go once the injuries and post World Cup burnout kicks in.

No problem with the youth if good enough, but I for one won't be calling them out if not up to scratch because of the club's lack of ambition this window, maybe resulting in some of them being somewhat rushed into the mix.

As for we have a new stadium to pay for. Yep, but means feck all with no players in the fecker if this is how we expect to operate.

Oooh Toby stayed. Great, which rival is getting a steal at £25 million next summer then?.

Embarrassing, clusterfuck of the highest order. Every time we seem to be on the cusp of something great, the club has this uncanny knack of making us look like feck wits.

Top 5 leagues in Europe, only club not to sign a single player.

Brave?...Nah, thick as fuck.

The way you brush off Toby staying says it all, and this doesn't only apply to you.

He's better than any player we would sign this summer even in the most "successful" of windows.

Then on top of that, Harry signing a new contract is even better.

F'ing Levy!! For all the good things he has brought to the Club, this TW like taking the hot, drunk tramp home from the club only to have her barf and pass out before the Happy Ending. :banghead:

I don't give two shits about which transfers did not happen...the REAL question is was this Poch's vision? If he is good with it, I am! If he is not, I'm afraid we're toast ladies & gents!

If our aim is to win trophies then we had to improve the squad as it is currently not good enough. If the goal is just to compete for the top four then not signing anyone is not such a big deal. Although, saying that, i am more worried this year then i have been in a while. But that will probably subside in time.

Personally I think its insane that we couldn't find a single player that would improve ether the first team or the bench. Im not really sure why we have scouts if all they could drum up is Grealish and Martial. I really feel like we had zero game plan for this window what so ever. Beyond that, nobody is going to convince me all is well, the only thing that will do that is results on the pitch and Poch staying. Now i don't expect him to leave despite what seem like a monumental fuck up but i feel like he said enough times over the summer that the squad needed improving that i just cant see him being all smiles and cuddles right now. And as a season ticket holder it does irk me that we are paying huge amounts for a seat in our lovely new stadium but the club cant bring in a single new player to improve us. Thats not going to make me love the club any less, but im not sure how Levy can justify from a business aspect charging top tear prices for what isn't top tear football. When i say top tear i mean City, Barca, RM, Juve etc. Now obviously i didn't expect us to spend the sort of money those clubs spend/spent, im not an idiot, but at least a suggestion that we are trying to compete with them for the top. Obviously sales and the dreaded home grown issues play a part, but really, one marque player is not going to send us spiralling especially if we really did have 150 mil to spend. Essentially it feels like Levy has gambled and none of us will know the results of that gamble until the end of the season. If it pays off then he will have played it very well, but if it doesn't then i would 100% expect Eriksen at least to be looking for a move on. Yes, i know he supposedly signed a new contract that will no doubt get announced tomorrow morning, but he's entering his prime and will want to feel like he is at a team challenging for honours. Ether way, at this point of time it feel like a big gamble that could have seriously bad repercussions.

The most annoying thing is, i feel like if we had just singed 1 good CM it would have gone soooo far in helping us achieve our potential as a squad. It really is the route of our struggles from an attacking and defensive aspect. But we are not here to discuss tactics.

Time makes fools of us all so we shall just have to wait and see who is wearing the cap next summer.

Love to all.

Hard to argue with this part. Would love to know who our other targets were, hardly any media links all summer.

I am certainly not bashing JJ, and we do cross reference. Nothing to do with anything he says. He would be aware where I am coming from

Have a bad feeling that things will turn nasty at the club over the next few months. Especially if we have a slow start to the season.

So where Liverpool planned to buy early and not muck about over-negotiating, on our side Levy gambled to wait till the end of the window for the market to open up and player values drop. Gamble backfired spectacularly

Im bitterly dissappointed with the window and I think we will struggle to keep up with the top3 now and my biggest concern is the bigger picture with Poch possibly not wanting to waste his time if there will always be an excuse as to why we cant back him.

I will never believe this notion that dont have money because we qualified for the champions league this season, what if we had finished 5th would we then be suddenly screwed financially? What about the other two seasons.

I think Levy has made mistake after mistake, we dont know what happened with the stadium rights but that has clearly gone wrong. The Nike deal also looks shit our kits are the worst theyve been in a long time, our away kit is the barca training kit.

They made huge errors with the homegrown situation, how Janssen and Nkoudou have managed to hang on this long I will never know, we had itk he was demanding premium for these players which is astonishing.

The one which shows the clear lack of planning is the goalkeeper homegrown issue. If you plan and know that you have an issue with amount of non-hg, why do you sign up our backup keeper on a new deal because that shows that clearly you dont trust the 3rd choice keeper and if so why have we signed him. Its piss poor planning. The whole window felt terribly planned and inconsistent.

I dont think Levy should leave after this not at all but he certainly has to review his work and come up with a different approach.

Every single other club has taken to the new market like a duck to water and yet we are struggling and somehow there is always an excuse that its everybody elses fault other than ours, time to look inwardly I feel.

Also its total nonsense that in the entirety of world football, there isnt a single player who could improve our squad. If people believe that then they need to consider their biases to our team and really really think about this when man city are dicking us again.

Also people say ahhh we dont have the money to compete with the likes of city and united but what about the leicesters, fulhams, evertons and wolves of the world? Youre telling me we cant compete with them its laughable. Half of their budgets on 1 player would improve us.

Theres positives to be taken, one our depth isnt that bad if you look at our bench when everyone is fit we have good options and its a huge opportunity for some youth which im excited about.

I think top4 has to be the main goal now and the pressure is off regarding the title, im concernes about our injuries in midfield, we look weak there.

I dont think we are fucked by any stretch but we havent given the players and managers the tools to compete. However every single one of those players deserve to be in the team for the arrival of our stadium. Lets hope the likes of Foyth, Skipp, Edwards and Onomah take their opportunities.

Great post, the first line says it all, I did not know that disgraceful fact. We only needed a couple of additions to keep going forward, we have regressed.
