Can we create a code-word or something so when the Journo that @Hercules talked to releases the REAL story we can be discretely alerted?

We are fucked if Eriksen hasn't signed that contract already. That's my worry. 2 years left.....don't want to be forced to sell.

So you think that Poch will potentially throw the first game of the season to prove a point?
No, never. I think that if he goes with Sissoko in CM it will prove how poor the window is because it will show how high a priority a CM was. I think if he goes with the new formation and player positions it will show that he has at least been planning based on what he has rather than what he'd like to have.

I mean, CM, and wide forward were clear priorities of his. Its pretty much the only 2 positions we have been seriously linked to all summer. I don't know what else we would need to confirm that.

Isn't Eriksen the one who agreed to the deal but it was intimated that he wouldn't actually sign it until we proved some ambition in the window? I may have completely made that up...but I swear it was...

Gotta wait to see how the next 5 years play out before I can come to a conclusion on if this window was a good decision or not.

LOL exactly...also loved the 'who have people signed thats proven quality?'

Hmmm lets see: Mahrez, Jorginho, Kovacic, Keita, Fabinho

Some people just cant get out of denialville

This window really will go down in infamy. I don't think harping on about the positives of keeping players is a positive spin worth regurgitating... to me, that was a given at the beginning of the window. It would have been utterly shocking if we had sold anyone, given the strength of our current position as a CL team, with a new stadium and best-in-class facilities.

The reality is that the squad had two key gaps integral to beating the very best teams... and that was in CM. If nothing else this window, I think we'd all collectively agree, that the priority was two midfielders that can provide more control, creativity and verve in midfield. Otherwise, we were overly reliant on Eriksen. The rest aren't good enough in those key games... Dier (one paced, one dimensional) Wanyama (constantly crocked, no creativity) Winks (crocked and no confidence) Dembele (occasional beastly game... occasionally) Sissoko (Sissoko).

Just two little fucking players in this area would have greatly satisfied the fans and most likely the coach too... but Levy decided that this would be the year, that he'd save his greatest, biggest cock up for the most important window we've had in over a decade.

Now we are at great risk of losing the best manager we've had since Bill Nic, and the boys in the squad that love him, will soon follow. He would have every right to walk next summer, as he was clearly misled and lied to by Levy. So, either Levy will have to fuck off outta the way or we potentially face going back to square one if Poch is upset and feels let down.

This transfer window is best summed up as: 'A festering turd languishing on a puerile pond of puke'.

What I wanted most from the window was for Poch and the key players to stay/sign new deals and some cover at CM to replace a fading Moussa - I got some of what I wanted.

I really hope this means a focus on bringing through youth rather than players like GKN and Llorente. If it does and if we don't sell any key players to Europe then I'm mildly disappointed but generally optimistic.

All in all 7/10 I'd say - assuming we don't sell anyone important over the remaining few weeks.

Yes, there's a lot of circumstantial evidence to suggest as much. Proof will be in the pudding, as we well know that Pochettino goes with a formation that he likes and gets the players to adapt rather than adapting formation to the players like Redknapp used to for instance.

Naa, you're alright...

I don't trust Levy with this whatsoever.
