So there in denial. Then they’ll come to their senses and try to buy in January only to realize the only targets will be ones ostracized from their clubs for one reason or another(like Moura last season) so we’ll be unlikely to buy then too.

The FA also royally fucked up by making the buy window shorter. It hurt all clubs. Whether they made signings or not. It hurt. Cant force UEFA to just fall in line to your shenanigans. It forced English clubs to either overpay for abroad players in desperation or do nothing. Can only hope they’ll revert back to end of August next summer but its unlikely

Sorry for asking, but I see people talking about a naming rights deal falling through? Where is this info from?

May I add, after speaking to one of the Liverpuddle ITK, who is family to their hierarchy.

They made a decision to act quick and incisive, before the market got crazy. They knew they would have challenges on their outs. They told those that would be available, with their agents the score. Lots more I cannot print.

In a nutshell. I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR THE BULLSHIT ABOUT WE HAD TO SHIFT FIRST, HG ‘Meh, meh!’

Daniel Levy COCKED UP! And before anyone starts defending him. Privately is known why I state this strongly.

For the record, I vote very strong-NO CONFIDENCE in DANIEL LEVY conducting our transfer business. And he SHOULD be removed from this role. Give someone else the budget, and let them deal with it!

STICK TO THE COMMERCIAL BUSINESS OF OUR GREAT CLUB Daniel.

Please nobody start singing roses over his Poch is happy. That is not technically true! There are reasons I have shared privately. And we run a great risk of him walking in 12 months.
Someone like a Michael Brands at Everton who seemed to be able to get Deals Over the Line . Worked with Jol in Holland.

Either

• ENIC are selling up soon
• The stadium has eaten the transfer budget in light of no sponsor
• No one wants to deal with Levy / Levy's prices
• The market is tough

I believe it's the third reason.
Think 1 is also possible. Enic are an investment firm. Look at our net spend over the last x amount of years. Where’s all the tv money going?

Something’s nagging me, telling me it’s going on the stadium so there’s as little debt hanging over the club when the infrastructure is complete

Interesting stuff from JJ.

That excellent THST statement should make fun reading for them.

Re: Toby contract and we'll know in 3 week - Is that not an admission that he's off abroad unless he signs one? Hope I've read that wrong, or of course a new deal can be agreed.

Glad to hear Poch and Toby have made up, important for team morale. Big headache for Poch though, play a back 3 or you have to choose between Sanchez (the future) and Toby (who may get pissed off easily if benched).

What I don't understand is why we didn't target some young players e.g. 18 or under who would then become home grown in 3 years time. We have 6 full England internationals (I know Dier doesn't count as HG), but where we lack is supplementing this with the "foreign" HG e.g. Bentaleb. I don't think Foyth would count as HG as we bought when 19.

Surely we should've been able to do this even if we couldn't strengthen the 1st team? I know they can be speculative purchases but no harm if only the odd one or two pay off. Instead we speculative with slightly older players e.g. N'Jie, GKN etc who clog up places. What are our scouting department doing?

So peeved off at the moment and do worry about Poch becoming disillusioned at some point.

I said previously that this window was looking like the same old get us excited then do nothing but lots of people disagreed and marked it as spam. Looks like I wasn't far off after all. I expect the usual excuses like it was a tough transfer window and the World Cup messed it up but let's be honest, ALL of our rivals managed to make signings. Good thing we are being brave and bold with over a hundred million to spend or this window would have been a total disaster....

We won’t buy in January. We’ll be told its too hard like usual. The usual bullshit we get every year.

Not reading this whole nuclear thread..If similar has been posted I apologise.

Lloris, Trippier, Jan, Sanchez, Rose, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli, Son, Kane.
Lamela, Vorm, Moura, Wanyama, Llorente, Winks
Davies, Aurier, Toby, Gazzinga, Walker-Peters, Foyth, Carter Vickers. Playing all the kids this season..... What a rubbish squad.....

Some of you grown men and women need to get a grip.

Wah wah wah where is our shiny new players to get excited over. No new player is walking into our first eleven. Sure our depth could be improved but it's not THAT bad.

We kept Toby. If we can get him happy and playing well again then we've got the best back 3 in the league again. Trippier showed at the World cup what he can do. Davies was one of the best full backs in the league last year. Wanyama was monstrous when he joined but was hampered by injury. We know what Dembele can do. As for our attacking players, probably the best we've had for a long, long, long time.

Yes it's great excitement when we get a new player joining. I think that's actually have the reason people are so desperate to see us sign someone. Take a breath, look at what we've achieved so far under this manager. He himself has even said there's no point in signing someone just for the sake of signing someone. I'm sure most will avoid that and just put the blame on Levy because it's the easy option to join the bandwagon. A bit of perspective and reflection is required.

Always knew I liked you (y)

JJ spitting some knowledge on twitter, I'll summarize the last few:
  • Club is aware of fans being upset but they are in denial (think he means the club is in denial of how they fucked up)
  • Will know if Toby is going to sign a new contract in 3 weeks time
  • Says there are no longer any issues between Poch and Toby
  • Said he can't share who the targets were or he would be "compromised"
Tell you what, if after all this Toby signs on then fuck me, much as the window was cocked up, baldy will have played a blinder there!

Hugely frustrating window, however most of my personal frustration has been caused by this site.
I'm a sicker for all the ITK, and the transfer rumour sections.
Pochettino has always maintained that buying someone for the sake of it is not the right thing to do. So had we done so, I'd have been as unimpressed as I am now.

Whilst I except that this was a difficult window with the (premier league heavy) world cup and the early deadline, none of this was a surprise.
Liverpool have been critisized for overpaying, but have they actually overpaid? I think they have just paid the big club premium.
Either we accept we are a small club overacheiving or we aspire to be a big club and have to accept that when we sign a player their price starts at £35M.

I would add that maybe we found it easier to get deals over the line when employing sporting directors

I took it as that, yeah. Either sign a new contract, or we're selling you abroad.

He could quite easily refuse to sign a new contract and refuse to leave, though ...

I think that is some what unjustifiable given the amount of investment and talent that we have in the youth system. If there's a Dele Alli there fine, but there aren't that many Dele Alli's and certainly (in the current climate) not going for the measly £5m we got Dele for. Kids with half his talent, potential and experience are going for nearly double that.

The transfer window..... I'm usually pretty positive about how we do in each window, but this feels like an absolute joke. I wasn't expecting too much, but I thought we'd get one player to challenge for a first team place and maybe one up and coming player who could develop through the season. Not signing anyone in a season we move into our new ground, a season in which we're meant to be growing as a club, just feels so wrong.

There's positives in keeping all of our players, some signing contract extensions, Toby returning to the squad and Moura having a preseason this time round, but there's also concerns over Dembeles fitness, Son missing the start of the season and our world cup players missing preseason.

I just hope we start the season well.....

Yeah, I just really don't see him getting a good offer at this point.

Think he'll sign a new deal personally. I don't think he'll risk his career by pretty much sitting out two full years of his career.

Yet we have won nothing and signed no new additions to change that fact. How about you give it a rest.
