This is my issue with those eager for a buy out. It's hard to imagine if anyone who stumps up the £2bn is likely to be the type to splash the cash on transfers.

Most of the money clubs in this country were bought in a dire state. Chelsea were on the verge of financial ruin. I think Ambramovich's total outlay on Chelsea (aside from their own stadium) in his whole tenure is likely less than our asking price!

Jim ratcliffe was sniffing around chelsea. He has no ties with them just seems to want the attention.

ok so our squad wasn't good enough last year to mount a serious challenge for domestic trophy. We haven't improved that squad and moving into a new stadium. Could be a serious risk to the progression of this club.
Plus we have senior players who have hardly any break and no pre-season. We're arguably weaker than we were last season when, while having to get used to a new home venue, we still had at least a good rest period and pre-season for most of the squad. Now we have players at serious risk of burnout.

I predicted here several weeks ago and I stick by it. We will finish fifth this season. Everyone else has strengthened. Those lot up the road have new manager syndrome and almost all their squad has had a decent pre-season and a rest. I think we'll drop behind this season and then the real test will be keeping the manager and senior players with no Champion's League.

I'd be an absolute liar if I said I felt good in any way about this season. What a sad feeling to have going into our brand new home.

Were the 10th (?) richest club in the world; we managed to buy Davinson for £40m or something last year and you're telling me that this year we couldn't afford to pay a bit more to get one quality CM into the club? Absolute bullshit.

Threatening violence on 56 year old man from behind the comfort of your keyboard, yeah really brave... grow up and stop being such a child.

Saying Levy might get a grilling if faced with ST holders in this very moment is not a “threat” by any stretch of the imagination, you absolute clown.

Absolute spin to not show disillusion to the public.

I think so too. I mean, even if he wants out, he cant just act up in public, as that's a terrible way to market yourself to potential employers. Plus, I don't think he's the type to try to embarrass people.

It's a better move to him to publicly demonstrate his professionalism (one of his greatest selling points) and wait for his next opportunity. That's how I would feel if I were him, anyway.

we also sold 80 million worth of players. the one thing I learned from this window is Levy will still insist on balancing sales and acquisitions.

Are you a ST holder? I can tell you I am and after being asked to pay several hundred extra in hard earned and not even getting any cup games, to then see the club operate with a total lack of ambition - the only club ever to not sign anyone in the summer window - as we go into the new stadium feels like an absolute slap in the face. Levy can shove his 1882 tickets, cheese room and longest ever bar up his hairless arse as far as I am concerned. All I want to see for my money is the club trying to improve. That's all I ask. And this window we've done bugger all to improve, but Levy, as usual, is still trying to drag every last penny out of the fans.

no,the part about not getting out alive I think is what he was alluding to. that does suggest violence, IMO.
Ok for the record I’m not a thug and I’m not advocating violence on the bald dwarf. As others have said it is a turn of speech but I’m happy to clarify for the those who didn’t get it.

Sounds dramatic, but you’re not wrong, and we forget this window isn’t over yet.

If Barcelona came in with £75M for Eriksen before August 31st, I think Levy would take it, and I think the player would go.

And at that point, it’s all over IMO.

We can afford to lose Alli, but we can’t afford to lose Eriksen, he’s the one who makes it all work. We should have had him tied down to a new contract months ago. Instead we’re asking him to commit to a club whose board apparently have a serious lack of ambition.

Absolute bollocks mate. This will never happen

Barcelona wouldn’t bid for Eriksen, Levy wouldn’t accept a huge profit on a player, or Eriksen wouldn’t want to play for Barcelona? Which one do you doubt?

We could have sold our deadwood at 10m a pop and made 40m or something. Sissoko, GKN, Janssen, Llorente, whomever else. We didn't even try by the looks of it. It's like they really didn't give a fuck at all
