Levy really needs to come out to make a statement explaining what happened. Maybe he will wait until the international window closes, so he can explain some sold players as well.

I keep hearing this, but really what is the point?

Any statement will be vague and dripping with PR bullshit anyway and no fan with half a brain will buy it.

I think he usually does one in the programme and on the website ahead of the first home game. Might speak more if he just avoids it!

Poch mentioned that Brexit had increased the stadium cost by 30%. IMO the stadium has put a huge strain on the finances of the club. We are building something that will cost bout 2-3 times more than our turnover. We will see the fruits of this in 2-3 years time / when we are sold. In the mean time, it is a case of keeping the show on the road. Short term pain, for hopefully some long term gain.

I think people are over complicating the situation. Its quite plausible that Levy and Poch identified targets that would improve the starting X1, whoever that may be. Once it became clear that those players weren't available, for any number of reasons, it was decided to stick with what we have rather than buy more Sissoko, N'koudo, Llorente, Jansen types.

I'm far more interested in what players play in what formation this season than having a pop at a bloke who has absolutely transformed our club. One or two of the youngsters on here have no idea of the dark days we've been through, September 15th is a massive day for me, I've got Daniel Levy to thank for that.

I can vouch for that man. Fans these days don’t know we were on our knees at different points during the Scholar years and the barren years that followed under Sugar. We have a great side we have kept together and an excellent manager. So it wasn’t a great TW but I have seen worse. Let’s get behind the team. Things get real on the weekend!

I think Spurs fans in general are more patient and understanding regarding spending etc than other teams. However Football is entertainment and I think a large part of the ‘fan experience’ is the excitement of a new signing and then watching the new signing and new team. It’s a major reason to watch some of the less exciting Cup games where youth and new players might feature. So even if you disagree we couldn’t improve or you don’t see a benefit regarding competition a new player brings, surely you can see a new signing is a major part of the excitement of following a football team.

Been thinking about this “Poch is fine” line.

Maybe Poch’s wife got hold of his phone?

Levy texts him on Thursday afternoon, telling him what’s going on and asks how feels about it.

No reply.

At 5:01 Levy follows up with “what’s wrong”

She replies “Nothing. I’m fine”

I wonder if all the "bedwetters" will apologise for their lack of faith...
This is a post typical of the type of smugness, arrogance, and superior attitude displayed by so many of the Levy Fanboys this window. They were so quick to mock or sneer at anyone who dared to question Levy's transfer policy, and even quicker still to deride, demean or belittle anyone who expressed concerns as to whether Poch truly would be backed in this Summer's transfer market.
Well this comment has well and truly come back to bite you on the ass hasn't it?! Perhaps best to save your crass put-downs for the end of the window, when at least you'll know the outcomes.
Let's hope that in future windows, supporters' genuine concerns won't be so readily and churlishly dismissed.

Concerns yes but genuine? Most of us knew for weeks that we had to sell to buy plus the complications of the HG issue. I think the stadium overrun has probably put the cobblers on spare cash being used in advance of sales. But realistically did we not suspect this would have an impact? News on the stadium running behind schedule has been around for a couple of months if not more.

Do fans prefer a new player over long term stability? If it’s yes then that is not how the club has progressed in recent years.

All I can hope is that we find value and opportunity in January. Maybe a few players will get unsettled? It’s the next season syndrome again though. Our squad is strong, we have exciting youth coming through and we have a settled squad. Let me see the optimistic ratings...

Top 4 race as i see it. Is Levy playing the most dangerous game of poker with this transfer window....? Hold onto the money and see how the other teams start the season. If we are up there in january. Spend some money and cement that place. If we dont look like we are going to get champs league. save the money for next summer and go for the massive push for the title. It is very risky. But could be a masterstroke.

Man City - Gonna win the title again only one realistic challenger as far as i can see.
Liverpool - Gonna push for the title, but could still have issues beating the lower placed teams. Still think the germans way of playing leaves them vunerable if they dont score early. They run out of steam.
Man United - Were shit last year and somehow managed to finish second?? Cant see it happening this year. Mourinho in his third year exit strategy will make sure they are mid table.
Chelsea - New manager - New keeper - same old same old. Havent really improved on last season. could go either way for them.
Arsenal - New Manager looks like he is addressing defensive issues. But will that affect their forward momentum. havent bought anything of note. Old players who may or may not suit the premier league. But have the firepower to have a good season. If they stop conceeding.
Tottenham - 9 players out at the world cup. No new signings. But no losses of main players. New stadium could go either way. You cant beat familiarity the more a team plays together the better they know eachother. Evolution not revolution. need to stay in touch for the first 10 games. And see where we are at christmas.

So my view on the final top four

1) Man City
2) Liverpool
3) Tottenham
4) Chelsea
5) Arsenal
6) Man United

But if that's the case Flash, the Club needs to be honest and tell us. Instead this is the communique we (via the THST) received:
The Club engaged Rothschild to secure the funding for the new stadium.
The Club announced on 31 May 2017 the completion of the bank debt financing for the new stadium with a consortium of banks involving Bank of America Merrill Lynch International Limited, Goldman Sachs Bank USA and HSBC Bank plc.
Matthew Collecott, director of finance and operations at Tottenham, assured us: "This is not going to touch the football, these are very separate budgets."

Wow...it's just taken me all morning to skim read through this thread. Mainly stopping at the blue posts and reading the reactions to them.

Firstly thank you to all the ITK's again - @Hercules , @Trix & @ValenciaYid and the tweets from @JJetset... your insights and snippets have provided us with a full on roller coaster this summer. I'm certain there is so much more you can't say about many situations behind the scenes, but the stuff you've been able to share has been an eye opener. It seems we've all been led a merry dance - just you guys at least had the benefit of knowing the tune.

I think we're all disappointed (pissed off, angry, furious, irate) with the way the club has conducted itself throughout this transfer window. I hope now that we don't ship any of our key players abroad now (Rose, Toby, Dembele). Fuck, I'd even like to see us keep hold of Sissoko now! Only time will tell how this affects our imminent season.

My biggest fear now is a poor season and the long term problems this might cause to the team. Fingers crossed the boys can deliver something this season. If they do it'll be down to them and Poch - not DL and the board.

Here's to our 'Brave' new season - Cheers! COYS
