So passive aggressive, but I'll bite. Literally no one was saying that spending money guarantees points.

But you might remember Mourinho wanting to buy a center back. And not getting one.

Yeah our transfer needs don't relate to uniteds either, they have glaring issues, we don't really but wanted to sign players who could get us to another level.

Now the dust has settled.....What it looks like to me is that our first team SQUAD is a bit tasty!
With Danny Toby and Mousa, all staying, and Moura, Lamela and Winksy, back fit, and looking like new signings, the squad is starting to look very strong.
Keeping those guys was in some ways more important than who we may or may not have signed.

Yes Sissoko LLorente GKN, may be deadwood in some eyes and Janssen is it would appear in the clubs eyes,
Given the fact that we got let down at the last minute, by HSBC in the "small matter" of £400m and with what we know about the stadium delays, maybe a) we did not have the budget we thought and b)could not have found many players to improve what we already had.
In isolation maybe we could improve on some of the dead-wood, but i reckon its marginal.
As it stands now
I think we have the best GK and 3 CB s in europe, Tripps KWP SA on the right and Rose Davies, on the left, when on form are on of the best pairings in the EPL. Its shit, Walkers gone, but there is a reason City paid 50+m for hime before the market went nuts.
In DMF, Dier and Wanyama (when fit are probably just behind Nkante), as the best DMF in the league.

In CM Mousa in the first couple of games has shown he can still control a game, when he comes in, and probaly is really needed to start, in max 10 full EPL games (ie the rest of the top 6 home and away), or at least until Vic and Winks gets back
and show that we can cope at the highest level without him. If Winks returns to the Real Madrid form, then, we will have plugged a huge gap, particularly if Josh Onomah and Luke Amos can make the step up. Yes it is our potential greatest area of weakness, though Coco, Eriksen and Ali can help cover in there.
Poch sees something in Sissoko, i dont but, for me if everything else falls into place it doesnt really matter.
Finally our attack is actually devastating, Coco Eriksen Ali, Moura Son Kane are all pretty amazing. I think Coco and Moura could be the revelations of the season.
I would love to go to OT and stuff 'em next week, piling on the agony after Brighton,(just after we announce toby has signed a new 4 year extension.)

We are a lot better than we think, and Harry has scored in August....

He’s got plenty how about he works with them and makes them better players/defenders ?

To be fair, he was in charge when they bought Bailly and Linderhof. It is up to him to get the best out of those players.

Yup I do, our fantastic chairman refused to sell

Refused to sell/No1 made a bid. Very hard to decide the success of a transfer window after 2 games mind but the per game back and forth in this thread will have twist and turns I'm sure:D

IMO every single CB at Utd looks a shadow of the player they were pre Mourinho. He was successful when he had players like Carvalho and Terry who didn't need coaching but his record with CBs who are not the finished article is dreadful, and he's also ruined a few who were pretty decent before he got his hands on them.

The whole team seems to lack the driving leadership of a player like John Terry. They looked a disorganized shambles against Brighton.

My views since the TW closed have altered slightly, but not much:

1) CM needs reinforcing as soon as feasibly possible. We look a different team with Dembele on the pitch and we need to get the others back fit and firing ASAP. Should be our priority and worth spending big
2) Left Back/LWB needs to be sorted. Maybe Rose comes back to form/wants to stay. But either way, we need to think about a long term solution there too
3) Toby may leave and JV isn't getting younger - I still think De Ligt could be worth splashing out on

Otherwise I'm just delighted we've started with 6 points, albeit 6 you'd have expected.

Occurred to me this morning that had the Premier league not cut short the window we'd all still be on the verge of a nervous breakdown, it's so much easier now.
Mind you two wins to start the season helps:)

It will be much better when the whole of europe closes their windows on the same date (before the first games) as us next year. Its onlt this one season its been different. Ive much preferred it closing before our games. Leaves us to just focus on the football.

So media reports indicating we will sell a few players. I can only hope they don't include Rose and Alderweireld. It will be mind boggling if we sell them, as we will have a far weaker squad than last season, and also, will make it all the more disturbing why we didn't sign any new players.

Something seems weird at Spurs right how. With the delay with the stadium, no new signings and Poch hinting at player departures, the literal only saving grace is if we keep winning football matches. God forbid our results dip. This was supposed to be the season it all came together...
Doesn’t seem particular weird to me mate. Seems clear we’re throwing millions at hundreds upon hundreds of contract workers to get the stadium built, hence no signings and hence a few players in the shop window.
