Be interesting to see who plays singles for the Aussies, they used four different singles players in this game.

Any idea if we're home or away? Be a great atmosphere over there

We're at home will likely be indoors. I guess the Aussies will play the young guns.

He really is a see you next Tuesday...

I know mind games and sledging are all part of the game but you don't cross the line like that. He sounds more like an internet troll than a professional sportsman.

Some match from Murray there to beat Djokovic

And an important one. I haven't looked at the dates and points but if he stays at #2 for the US Open that's a major advantage, especially if Federer is in Djokovic's half.

Was it a rare off day from Djokovic or did Murray do something different?

Neither players tend to have an "off day" when they meet, it's just a one on one sport so someone has to lose.

These 2 are right at the very top of their game and despite the recent run for Djokovic either man can win every match. Good contest for years to come.

Great performance from Andy.

A lot more errors from him than usual, but that was because he really went for it. Tactically spot on last night.

He did so well in that final game, a situation he has faltered so often - especially against Novak - in the past.

Top, top sportsman who unfortunately does not get anywhere near the level of credit or respect he deserves.

Hopefully the next three weeks continue in the same vein.

I only saw the final set but I thought Murray was great last night. Far more attacking than I've ever seen him before. He was comming in on both Djokovic's first and second serves and it really paid off for him. Usually Murry employes the 'If I keep hitting it back you'll make a mistake before I will' tactic, which is a bit boring, if not effective. It's no wonder he more often than not loses against the very top players when he adopts that stratergy because they've got the ability to hit winners and Murray struggles to. Yesterday he took the game to Djokovic and Djokovic struggled to deal with being attacked. I suppose he's not so used to it.

Have to say what a top sportsman Djokovic is though. Applauded Murray when he made great shots. Gracious in defeat and even spoke to the crowd in French.

Credit to Mauresmo and Bjorkman; they have made Murray attack more when he needs to. In most cases he will be able to out-rally the opponent, but not Djokovic. Last night was an excellent display - from both of them tbh - and he's got to keep that up in the US Open.

Murray v Federer on soon, should be a feisty game

I can't see andy winning it. Fed's had 5 weeks off and no hard matches. Murray's been taken to 3 in the last two rounds and must be knackered after last week's efforts.

Trouble is that means I want Djokovic to win the other semi so he can beat Fed in the final so that Andy gets #2 seed at the US Open, and at the moment Dolgopolov is a set up.

All the sporting results are going wrong today!!

Two fascinating 1st round matches for the US Open: Murray / Kyrgios and Nadal / Coric. Murray I think will win. Rafa, I'm not so sure.

When was the last time Murray went out this early in a grand slam. Huge shock on the cards.

It was one of those ones where you just knew Murray would win in five as soon as he took the 3rd set. Classic unfancied player storms ahead but cant keep it up and ends up wilting fairly meekly. Some great rallies in the end of 3rd/4th set.

No surprise that Nadal lost to Fognini to me but him losing after being 2 sets up is a big surprise. I'm more annoyed at Nishikori being out because he's someone I believed could go far, Nadal is a shell of his former self unfortunately, which for the sport of tennis is a great shame really.
