Just seen the first episode, and it was great. Really looking forward to seeing how this one goes.

I love how they put subtitles up for the Scousers! Bless the yanks.

Haha. Yeah it was okay. I didn’t think many of them stood out mind you. Mainly that Ross Pearson guy and Andre Winner. I think that Andre Winner was the most impressive there.

There were a few ‘suspect’ fighters there who, frankly, did no better than someone like me would have done. Then again I guess nerves gets to a lot of the guys which is totally understandable.

Next week looks a lot more entertaining with Dana giving some guys a beat down.

Just caught the show, the standard surprised me. Stapleton and Pearson stood out for me. Winner and Lawson sailed through as expected.

I would have liked to have heard more from Franklin and Henderson. What they said was mostly inaudible. But I guess the editors put the spotlight on Bisping to highlight Team UK.

Looking ahead it is interesting that they are casting for three weights (including heavyweight) for TUF 10.

A few stood out to me. The vicious pikey one, Ross Pearson (looks like Jason Statham's sidekick (Tommy?) in Snatch). He is barely controlled agression. I have never seen any fighter come out of a round (the first) so late as him. The ref practically had to throw him off into the other side of the ring. I'd love to see him against CB Dollaway, another would-be psycho.

Some just seem far too nice and friendly. Like that Nick Osipczak guy. Didn't really go in for the kill despite a couple of opportunities. Seemed to take forever to get his opponent down who wasn't too strong. Doesn't seem to have the agressive instinct. He'll get torn apart in the US i'm sure.

I seen Andre Winner fight a couple of times on the Cage Warriors promotion, he looks as though he could be useful.

Infact I understand he has been trained (atleast in part) by the people who worked closely with Paul Daley for years.

I have worked with Paul Daley a couple of times when he came down to my old Muay Thai club. He is one of the best MMA fighters from the UK currently so it would suggest WInner could have a decent pedigree.

Where do you train?.

I’ve not trained in MMA or anything for well over a year now. However I’m doing a class tonight at the Ripped Gym in Harlow. I’m really excited about it! They have quite a bit of equipment and it looks good. Be cool to train with you one time???

Also do you have an amateur MMA/Muay Thai record?

I like how screwed up the Americans looked on the 2nd Ultimate Fighter. That bloke collapsed just like last year, was pretty funny. And yet again they had someone turn up at the wrong weight. Will they ever learn? They didn't look all that, apart from that Johnson fella. He looks a real threat to team UK. I think team UK had far the better auditions though. They reckon this is the craziest season yet. The UK hooligans have arrived

Browning attempts to goad a few English guys into drinking shots. During the rain of eggs, everybody is calling Junie Browning's brother a *bleep* and a little *bleep*. The voiceover guy then says that Browning's behaviour runs in the family, will he fight his way into the house?

And that's it.

Well no surprise that Rob Browning didn't make the house. He looked pretty shit in his fight. Good episode and I like the patriotic rivalries! Should be some good fights to be had. Gotta love Bisping! Winding up the septics haha.

I have not trained martial arts now for 4 years.

I tried various differnt arts from when I was young, but my muay thai/Chute gym was based in Birmingham (where I went to University) I trained there for around 5 years whilst at uni and living there (but since moving back to London I have not continued my Thai boxing as I got into weight training instead and never bothered to find a gym down here)

I always think about getting back into martial arts I would like to start training mma although I am not sure where Harlow is or how far that is from me (I am based in Hounslow) I know London SHoot fighters is near me but they are too expensive for my liking.

As for my Muay Thai record, it is very modest... I had serval interclub matches which were unsanctioned but only 3 'proper' fights sanctioned by the WMTO in which I won 2 and drew the first (although I was not matched at a high level).

Let me know how your training gets on. I was debating wheter to go down to a Thai Boxing gym again or a BJJ gym for something new.

Anderson Silva's performance last night appears to have divided critics. Yes 'The Spider' was conservative but in fairness he negated Leites, stopping his opponent from landing any offence whatsoever and won every round, extending his streak and leaving unscarred. If he were a boxer then he would be applauded for doing a professional job, but no in MMA every fighter must be an entertainer and produce fireworks. Boo! indeed.

I suppose this now means that Demian Maia is unlikely to get a shot at Silva anytime soon which is a big shame. Because I imagine Silva would again be elusive against a great practitioner of BJJ. Maybe we''ll see another GSP superfight.

Shogun destroyed Chuck, it was a devastating performance, and it was great to see the guy apparently over his knee injuries. Great return.

He did enough to win. The thing that made me chuckle was Goldberg's and Rogan's constant reference to the 2 rounds of sparring AS did after the Cote match-up. Bollocks. If he did 2 rounds against Cote after the match, then he should have been doing 3 against Leites.

Not a brilliant card in reflection. Chuck did what I expected (lol'd!) and the other fights went 99% the way in which they were predicted. Fuck me, kryzstofendsndmsndksndks winning by Kimura. Who'd have fucking thought... eh!? (as the home crowd might have said!)!!!!

Styles always make fights, and thats exactly what happened in the Anderson Silva fight. Leites just couldn't really take Silva down and he knew that was his only chance at winning the fight. He totally lost confidence early on in the fight and went into survival mode. Silva could have pushed the fight, but as the Champion its a big risk. He did what he had to do, won all 5 rounds and goes into the record books. I would love to see him fight GSP though. I think he'd win too. That would shut the Canadians up for sure. I still believe Silva is the best pound for pound fighter in the world.

Shame about Chuck Lidell. He hasn't been the same for a couple of years now though (aimilar to Tito in his final year). I think they'll give him one more fight though. Dana certainly looked happy enough with the fight, and he's still a massive pull for the UFC. I think they should put him up against Forest Griffin. If he wins, then he'll be back on the map. If he loses, he loses to a former Champion and someone who he helped in the Ultimate Fighter. I think he needs that one last fight.

I watched the Ultimate Fighter last night, and its shaping up quiete nicely. I hate how the Americans do those stupid impressions of the English. I think overall, we have the best fighters though. And it looks like Bisping is going to get under Hendersons skin. I think its great though. They're there to fight, and they're all talking about how nice everyone is. But Bisping is stirring things up. Its time for war. Come on Team UK!

ps- Rob Browning is all talk but cant back it up. Must run in the family.

If he keeps going then he'll end up like Ken Shamrock. It's better he hangs up the gloves now then risk any unnecessary punishment, especially since his last couple have fights have been decisive knock outs. Hall of Fame, DVD's, another book - he can still make money from the UFC.

Yeah just saw it. A good episode.

No spoilers and regardless of the match outcome (was a decent match) I am really impressed with the way our lads are conducting themselves. They come across as very mature and they seem to listen to Bisping and the other coaches and are taking it seriously.

A few of the USA guys are pissing me off (Demarques the main ring leader) and I am getting more patriotic by the episode.

Go Team UK!

Edit: My 11,000th post! A good way to post it.
