Chiesa getting caught in the middle is unfortunate but man, Conor is absolutely incredible. Dude just generated more interest in this PPV then Khabib, Tony, Holloway and Dana could do.

Khabib surrounding Artem a few days ago led to this.

What a pillock...

Apparently there's a warrant for his arrest
Starting to believe this was staged. Gotta create interest in this PPV somehow. No one was talking about it and it was a PPV in Brooklyn the day before Wrestlemania where 2 ex UFC fighters are wrestling.

The PPV was so little talked about outside of the normal UFC circles. Khabib/Holloway was never going to do numbers. Neither Khabib, Holloway or Ferguson are really marketable. Only fighter that was marketable on the card lost her title and is fighting for it back so she lost some marketability. If this was all Conor's doing by himself to get back at Khabib, UFC should thank their lucky stars as this event had very little interest in it beforehand. Now the whole world is talking about it.

I dunno... Seems it was in response for Khabib confronting Lobov yesterday.
Conor has just flown out to back up his team mate, he just does things in the wrong manner.

It seems to have been in response to Khabib going after Lobov. But it is convenient for UFC that it happened. A main UFC event in New York had no interest in it the day before WWE's biggest stage in which 2 ex UFC fighters are wrestling. This was turning into a massive bust for a company that has been dying for a huge, marketable fight for a while now. The events have been decent and had at least some interest but this event had nothing and the stage was absolutely massive. Would have been such a complete failure. Now this incident has people BUZZING and the PPV now has a chance to do something with people tuning into just to see if Conor is there and what he does. If it wasnt staged, Conor just gave this event the shot in the arm it had been dying for since it was announced a few months ago.

He's a piece of shit, chicken shit.
Like Dana said if he wants to fight Khabib do it in the octogon. If he wants to fight him outside the octogon, then at the very least confront him face to face. Don't stand outside with a steel rail with all your mates behind you and throw it at the bus and injure other fighters who have no involvement at all.

This is a convenient way for him to get out of fighting Khabib. He's a disgrace to MMA and his arse should be locked in jail.

What he did was stupid, yes. But it generated actual interest and buzz in a PPV that had absolutely none outside of hardcore ufc circles. Other recent ppvs have had some buzz albeit very little but this one had none. Conor just changed that. Which just hammers home the very real fact that UFC needs Conor. Without him, there a struggling entity. There is a 0.0% chance they’ll ban Conor for any significant time. I love the sport but lets be real, they have no one really marketable anymore besides Conor. Well, actually maybe Stipe but thats a stretch. Lesnar returning will help a bit but no one else is there thats tuly marketable. Joanna does some publicity but her powers gone without a belt. Jon Jones is done. Cormier, as much as i like and respect the guy, just is not really marketable outside ufc circles. Rousey’s gone and her star was pretty much gone anyway after she lost the first time then got wrecked after a while off.

Do I wish Conor would just fucking fight in the octagon again? Of course. I miss him in the octagon. But the reality is, he only has a few more big fights to be made then he’ll retire. Diaz 3, Mayweather in UFC, Khabib and im sure I’m missing one. And UFC will be stretching them as long as they can while they wait for someone to come along and be that marketable guy.

He’s apparently been arrested now because of course. This movie will be continued on saturday night where ufc cameras conveniently manage to catch him fighting with security to get into the arena.

Hey Dana, Vince McMahon wants his storylines back.

Do you think people who weren't going to buy a PPV view are going to buy one now, just because they've seen some fool hurl a steel fence at a bus? I think this incident makes him a lot less marketable.

Like you said he only has a few fights left in him. Anybody who knows an ounce about the sport knows this. UFC can't hang their hats on Conor, they have to grow different stars. If they are still backing him after this then we're going to see more fighters doing desperate things to get noticed.

Sonnet was making some good points yesterday, one point that he made was Conor was a guest he's not a citizen, in theory he shouldn't be allowed back into the country, people are getting banned just on the basis of where they come from, if he gets away with this it will confirm what most people know already, the US have a racist crock of shit immigration policy.

Yankspurs absolutely stinking up this joint with reems upon reems of utter pish. Don’t even know where to start there’s so much wrong with it....

Aye a PR stunt LMFAO. Only took UFC 20 years plus to get a NY license this is the last thing they’d ever want to happen. You’ve got Chiesa v Pettis pulled due to Chiesa sustaining cuts, Lobov v Caceres pulled due to Lobovs involvement and you’ve also got Borg v Moreno pulled due to Borg sustaining glass in his eyes. PR stunt haha. 3 fights wiped off the card, six fighters likely going to sue not to mention a UFC employee who has a broken hand apparently. Perhaps money will somehow buy Conor out of it but massive VISA issues could stem from this re fighting in the US in the future

This was nothing more than a coke fuelled rampage by a set of Irish chavs/neds/thugs. Perpetrated by a guy who has rather quickly completely lost the plot with his new found fame and riches. The Bellator event was a warning sign as was the water bottle incident before it. If anything it’s Conor’s way of getting off the hook of ever having to fight Khabib where he’d get demolished.

And completely wrong about this ppv, it already had more buzz behind it than any of the other recent ppvs, the forecasts were already predicting it would be the highest in a good while.

Only thing correct is that UFC has been floundering as of late, but this does nothing to help that at all and actually makes the situation worse

And you are too? Unreal. Im stinking up the joint yet you people are taking this opportunity to shit on America? Please take a step back and think.

Also, lets operate under the assumption that it wasnt staged(it was):

You’re telling me that Conor McGregor, driven solely by money, spend a couple hundred thousand to get a provate jet to fly him and his entourage across the Atlantic for 1 day only to confront Khabib, is avoiding Khabib? Interesting argument.

Taking the opportunity to shit on America ? No idea what your talking about. McGregor was always possibly attending this event, it had swung back and forth either way across the last few weeks - he usually attends ppvs Lobov fights in and the winner of Tony/Max v Khabib is one of the main possible fights for him if he comes back. In actual fact, it was speculated that UFC deliberately booked Lobov on this ppv to increase the chances of drawing McGregor to the event.

Either way there has been issues between these two camps spanning several months/years. It is no surprise that a guy with 100m in the bank takes a shortish flight with his ned friends after seeing Khabib alpha’ing Lobov and people calling McGregor out all over Instagram for not being there to defend him. After all, McGregor has been nothing but a keyboard warrior on IG for 500 days plus with regards to MMA. The guy jets about all over the world on a whim all the time flaunting his cash.

Honestly I really have no idea what your talking about overall.

The sport has had to fight off the stereotype that all fighters are raging animals and thugs who are bloodthirsty for years. So when that arsewipe does something to this extent it completely undermines that and qualifies other people's opinions.

I agree with everything you have said. He should be banned from ever competing in the sport again and it's time the sport regained some of the respect and lighter quibbles that they used to have. My favourite era was the GSP era and he never had to use these scumbag tactics to gain support and standing.

McGregor has denied a number of people food on their table with his actions and someone could have lost an eye. The guys out of his mind and is completely out of control.

You just have to see the way Conor reacted at Bellator last year to see this was not a publicity stunt. The guy is a train wreck. It's such a shame but we have another Jones situation on our hands. A great fighter inside the octagon but it's also about how you carry yourself outside it. He is a disgrace for these latest actions.

This UFC card has gone downhill fast and it's such a shame because it was looking like a top card a few weeks ago. I'm sure Khabib and his crew played a big part getting under their skins though. He has previous with the Diaz brothers at a WSOF event. It's true that no news is bad news when promoting an event but it puts MMA in such a bad light.

Where's the Bushido code in this sport?
