The only way I could see a way around the weight cutting thing is if they completely changed the way the whole thing works. Like they signed a fighter at a specific weight class and didn't allow them to fight below that.

I think Joe Rogan has suggested that it should be the same as another Promoter, i cant remember what one off hand? Where they weigh you before your first camp and they work out your weight without u being dehydrated then thats your weight class moving forward, unless u can prove u have lost weight without just cutting water. They would monitor you randomly everyday up to the fight.

I don't know of Jackson to be honest but I'm glad to hear Punk has a good chance against such a fighter. Will be very interesting to see how much Punk has improved, I think I'll be surprised if it goes past round 1. Yeah I'm looking forward to those as well, especially RDA vs Colby, I really want to see Covington get beat bad.

Well i dont know if its a good chance but it is his best chance, i dont watch wrestling so i have no idea of him before the UFC. Him against Mickey Gall was so a massive mismatch, it was unreal and was only ever gona end badly for him.
Yer i think will go further than the first round as i think both fighters are fighting for a chance to stay in the UFC.
Yer i hope Colby loses too, but he is a big danger for RDA as is naturally a bigger guy. Will be good to watch. The prelims start now so looking forward to that.

CM Punk showed plenty of heart, but Jackson just toyed with him. Should have finished him off in the second round. That should be the last we see of Punk in a UFC octagon

Jackson did him a real favor, he saved him from getting seriously hurt, both of them should quit.

Yeah hopefully Punk won't fight again, in any organisation really. Thought he was terrible to be honest, his stance, the movement, his stand game, his ground game and there was just no conviction behind anything.

Really can't wait for Woodley vs Covington though. Thought Covington looked good the other night to be fair.

Amazing fight between Whittaker and Romero. Close decision but with Romero failing to make weight i'm damn glad the judges gave it to Whittaker.

It was ridiculous that CM Punk vs Jackson was on the main card rather than Gadelha vs Esparza or Overeem vs Blades. WTF is the point of the rankings if two fighters with a combined zero UFC wins are higher up the card than four fighters ranked in the top six in their division :banghead:. Save that crap for the WWE .

Apparently Punk was paid $503,000 for that fight.
Whittaker got $600k for his fight with Romero.
Just goes to show what a WWE name/reputation can get you.

So max holloway is out of 226. He had concussion symptoms and pulled from ortega fight. Ortega wont take replacement so he is off card as well.

FFS. The biggest surprise about fights in the UFC now is to whether they actually go forward. Crazy.

DC is the new champion!
Very pleased for him. I know Lesnar was trying to promote the fight but I think he was out of line calling Stipe a piece of shit.

Lewis vs Ngannou was awful.
Perry vs Felder was oustanding. Haven't seen the Cheisa vs Pettis fight yet

That was fantastic, also really happy for DC, this guy is far from just a wrestler, his stand up game and striking always surprises me.

Loved the afters with Lesnar, boy that was fun, would loved to have been there live.

I have to say DC surprised me. I have to hold my hands up and admit I really didn't see that coming. Not only a victory, but a knockout. I really feel gutted for Miocic. He's been a fantastic champion with three title defences and I wonder if there's any way back for him now.

You're dead right about the farce which was the N'Gannou and Lewis fight. What the fuck were they both doing? People paid good money to come and see the fight which was billed as two great behemoths slugging it out in a vicious blood bath. They wondered in commentary before the fight, if the Octagon had been specially re-inforced...what everyone actually got was two massive guys, both with fearsome records only threatening to punch each other for three rounds without actually managing to do it. Neither of those two clowns should be paid for that 'performance'. I was disgusted with the pair of them, and I wasn't even there! Once the referee brings both 'fighters' together into the centre of the ring and tells them to throw some punches, you know you're watching a nonsense of a fight.

And as for Lesnar calling Miocic 'a piece of shit' he's talking out of his considerable arse. He should be careful what he wishes for because if Stipe and him ever get into the octagon, Miocic will stick one on his chin and he'll go down like a sack of spuds as he usually does when he gets hit in the face. He cannot take a punch. He looks huge and menacing but he hates being punched in the face. None of his training ever prepared him for that. Yes, Lesnar is a pussy boy.

Lewis at least has the excuse of back pain but Ngannou or (Ngammon as my phone just suggested has no excuses ). That being said I don’t like the way that Dana threw him under the bus. Dana was backing him heavily so he helped to create that big ego.

Finally Brock shouldn't be getting a title shot at all. He has lost his last day 3 fights.

Correct, but like it or not, he's 'Box Office' and I guess anything can happen in sport. Don't get me wrong, I like Brock but I also like and admire the cojones of CM Punk and sadly, neither man should be allowed back into the octagon because they are just not real fighters in the UFC/MMA sense.

Anyone know what the weird 'issues' were behind Holloway pulling out of the Ortega fight because of 'a concussion'?

I was really looking forward to that one. Would have been one of my fights of the year.

I think they're both as guilty as each other, or maybe Ngannou a bit more just because the threw even less the Lewis. If you're that injured that you can only throw outside punches and kicks and show no intent to actually 'win' the fight then you shouldn't even be fighting.

It was terrible and I'm glad they're getting heavily scrutinised.
