Holy shit WTF did I see happen last night after the fight?

Far as the fight itself goes, Khabib proved he's the GOAT and Conor isn't anything like the fighter he was a few years ago as he lost every round. That's fine but the crazy behaviour of Khabib after the fight, jumping over the octagon and attacking Conor's coaches is probably going to get him stripped of the title and possibly thrown out of the country. Dana said three of Khabib's team have already been arrested, one of them presumably for entering the octagon after the fight, amid all the chaos, and punching Conor.

Incredible, shameful scenes but in Khabib's possible defence, Conor went too far pre-fight and insulted Khabib's family and questioned his heritage and obviously these are the sorts of things which should never be used to hype up a fight so yes, Conor probably overstepped the mark and broke the boundaries...but having said that, Khabib's temporary insanity after winning the fight is going to have major repercussions and none of them good.

Even some minutes after the fight was stopped, and Khabib was still ranting and fuming, it took a umber of his friends to try to calm him down. Friends like Luke Rockholt and Daniel Cormiere but he was still screaming for his belt, but Dana refused to put the belt on him for fear of what might happen inside the arena, which was packed withIrish fans.
In all my years of watching theUFC, I have never ever seen anything like that. I do have some sympathy for Khabib and actually a lot of respect for Conor as he had nothing to do with what went on after the fight, so he'll be seen as the big victim in all this, but apparently, his team were goading Khabib from outside the cage, and once he'd submitted Conor, he just snapped and went completely crazy.

Fuck me. Unbelievable scenes. It's just a shame UFC 229 won't be remembered for the incredible, dominant performance by Khabib, but for all the shocking shenanigans which followed afterwards.

I'd say Conor would have to retire now. He was not much more than a shadow of his former self.

Conor was not allowed to do his thing as was tied up by supreme grappler - not sure he’s it says he’s a shadow of his former self. Wonder if he wants it enough to come back after this

This is wrong, I've been saying for a long time now that Conor isn't as good as people think, yes he has some ability but it's his mouth that bought him success. He was getting beat up Mendez, he caught Aldo with a great punch, never gave him the rematch. Knocked out Alvarez who wasn't the hardest opponent he could have fought, got beaten by Diaz, narrowly won the rematch, then avoided Khabib and Ferguson for two years. What you saw was his honest level. He would get beat by Ferguson Al Iquinta, Kevin Lee and maybe Edwin Barboza, Petis and Johnson too.

He had everything to do with what happened after the fight, he attacked the bus, he chose to take the piss out of his family, country and religion, no one has ever seen Khabib get that mad before.

This was very bad for MMA and UFC in particular. They have come such a long way to clean up the sport over the years. These kind of incidents just set it back further. Khabib undid all his great work in a moment of madness. There is only one true lightweight champion and that man is Tony Ferguson. What a performance and what a fight from those 2. That was clearly the fight of the night. The Lewis win though was KO of the night for me, what a comeback win of the highest order.

As for the main event it was all one way in the end. I was worried that if Khabib got the early takedown it would only go one way. Conor just doesn't have a strong enough ground game. The trouble is he doesn't have the conditioning either. He actually had Khabib tired going into round 3 but was just as tired himself. If he had the conditioning he would have put Khabib away in the 3rd. His striking suffered so much and came so slow by that point.

I'm not a fan of Khabib style but my god is he good at it. He did what he said he would do and Conor had no chance on the ground. What he did that I wasn't expecting though was back off and let Conor press him. He even landed a nice overhand right in the 2nd. He just fought the right way but I felt Conor maybe should have not pressed forward as much and kept it in the centre of the octagon. For me you have to keep away from the cage against Khabib.

Personally I would strip Khabib and suspend him. Daley is gone and never coming back for punching Koscheck post fight. This is just as bad imo but I can't see Dana fire him. He's just too good at what he does. Plus I do want to finally see the fight with Feguson. The difference with Ferguson is that he has better conditioning and much better ground skills than Conor. He's a more complete MMA fighter, Conor and Khabib are both a bit too one dimensional for my liking. Even though they're elite at that one dimension. That's what seperates them from the likes of Holloway, Ferguson, Johnson and Dillashaw.

No they haven't, Jon Jones hit and run, 6 month suspension gets rewarded with title shot, taken cocaine, 2 failed drug tests, just a slap on the wrist.

Conor hits a ref in a different promotion nothing happens. Throws water bottles at press conference into the crowd, nothing happens.
Attacks bus physically and mentally injuring people, nothing happens.
And you're talking about stripping and suspending Khabib for beating up some loud mouth punk, come off it.

Khabib and the people who jumped McGregor shouldn't be allowed fight or be involved again. McGregor shouldn't have been allowed to fight after the bus incident.

McGregor threw the first punch, the other guy jumped in, to defend his mate.

Didn’t they use the bus thing to actually promote this fight?

The list of stuff that is accepted says it all really. White and his cronies have a complete lack of class.

I don't think that's the case, but they should ban him too if he did.

It’s in the video above I think. He takes a swing at a trainer of Khabib whilst both are on top of the octagon. I think that’s what led to the others going after him with their dog sneak attack.

Hard to feel sorry for McGregor. He is an absolute tool but coward attacks from behind aren’t acceptable at all. Still, he didn’t seem particularly bothered by it, mainly because he was probably knackered!

Have a look at the video I posted in the previous page.
Sorry, hadn't seen that video. I'd personally not allow any of them to be near the Octagon again, but we know that won't happen. They should have get some long term suspension, with Nabib getting the longest because he started the whole thing off.

I think saying he 'started it' is massively ignoring what a twat McGregor and his entourage have been in the build up.

As I said they all got exactly what they deserved in my book.

And it should have finished when he outclassed him in the ring. Instead he came across as the biggest twat of them all.

Steady on, I said they've come a long way, not that it's job done. Not least they have got MMA sanctioned in all major states. So yes they have come a long way but these incidents don't help. But to say nothing happens is just not true. They do get fines and suspension when they go too far. Jones has been suspended and stripped of his belt. Conor has been fined multiple times. Maybe they do need to go further with the punishments but they have come a long way in the 18 years I've followed the sport.

I didn’t spot and it wasn’t mentioned post incident. Interesting Conor’s purse was not withheld, so I hope this footage will be considered later

He'll get a big fine and 4-6 months suspension. It wont bother him though as most fighters take that amount of time off after a fight anyway.

They wont do anything to mcgregor he is the cash cow.

Cash cows can’t afford to lose though, they quickly lose their appeal. McGregors biggest problem is he now has to face guys his own size and there are plenty at that weight who can give him serious trouble/beat him.
