I like Digne but we havent been linked with him at all so I cant really see us getting him even if BAE leaves.

Heard an interview with BAE on BBC World radio yesterday. He is doing charity work for river blindness disease in Africa. He was asked 'will you still be at Spurs?'. His answer 'I've been linked with a lot of the press about transfers. As far as I know I am part of the club and will be staying'. So until Uncle Frank delivers the message 'your off' he'll be staying and I prefer him frankly. If he is injury free, he is a top LB. He also said he sees himself playing for a long time and quoted Roger Milla playing till he was 42!

Hes a top LB when hes focused and doesn't make mistakes and give the ball away! I think if somebody offered us 7-10m for him Levy would sell!

Windy (who follows the youth prospects closely) said he thinks Pritchard has been a bit overhyped and he thinks it'd be good for him to be playing regularly, even in league one. Said he's not as developed as Harry Kane yet even and, while promising, still has a long way to go.

I don't think League 1 is the place for him to develop. I don't know exactly what he means by not as developed, but he's a completely different player to Kane and has more about him already. He also plays in the position we desperately need to improve (attacking left midfield or outside left/wide).

He's 20, not 15.

probably explains our bizzare transfer policies when Sherwood can outvote AVB

He can't.

Donna cullen is probably in charge of sherwood, baldini and avb. But she doesn't have a say on transfers.

Different people have different responsibilities, avb in charge of the first team and sherwood development.

Rather have him at swindon playing every week than a championship team sitting on the bench. With all the spurs boys there he will settle and they will be able to play our style of football.

Its just as much getting used to playing competitive football in front of a crowd as it is the opposition.

I agree. I thought he'd done pretty well for Peterborough last season, and he would probably have played a lot more games for them if he wasn't injured for 6 weeks or whatever it was.

I watched Swindon at the back end of last season. It wasn't pretty, even with the spurs lads on loan. He's better off training with our first team squad and given some bench/sub time and games in Europe/cups IMO where he'll learn from better players and get protected by better refs. IMO.

Guess it depends on who the new manager will be. As i said in the other thread i don't see why we don't loan more of our players abroad?

I think he meant more developed in that Kane is younger and already has PL experience and starts for England U20's.

I've made the case for Negeredo numerous times here, but it continually falls upon deaf ears. Negredo was arguably the most in-form striker in all of Europe at the end of the season. We should've brought him in back in January, when Sevilla were in more of a financial crunch and were openly looking to sell him (they've sold Navas and aren't as desperate for cash now).

He would be a perfect fit for what we need: a goal-getter who can score with his head and his feet. We need a striker who can score from outside 15 yards when teams park the bus. Negredo and Michu are the only two we've be linked to who can shoot from distance and threaten the goalkeeper. Villa and Negredo would've seen us win the title, in my opinion.

Also, for the last time, can we please put to bed this idea that high-performing players from Spain are some sort of risk in the EPL?
I mean seriously..... Which one of the following players had ever played on a cold night in Stoke before stepping foot into a Prem side: Mata, Michu, Van der Vaart, Aguero, Cazorla? That's 5 high-level successes who came from Spain in the last 3 seasons. How many comparative flops who were double-digit goal scorers in La Liga came into the EPL and failed? Can anyone name one in recent times? Negredo, Soldado, Higuain.... All of them would be huge hits for us.

Not doubting they'd be hits. All things being equal i'd prefer negrado, higuain or soldado over benteke. But if we count age, wages and likelyhood of them joining us, i think only benteke remains viable.

Negredo IMHO is one of the most underrated forwards out there! Look at his record for Sevilla! Would be a welcome addition in my eyes

Probably better suited to the Premier League than La Liga too. Powerful. Would be able to make greater use of his physicality here. (y)

Truly do you believe for one second AVB would have turned down PSG if he was being overruled by Sherwood ? He would have been off like a shot if that was the case.

Do you think so? I think we need a striker who has good movement in and around the box and who can score inside the box. We have a number of players who can shoot; we have none who can make space in tight forward areas and convert half-chances.

I've been watching the Benteke / Negredo / Soldado debate with interest, but I really don't care who we get as long as they can score around 20 per season. Frankly, I'd spend 20 million of the club's money on a striker who can make a near-post run; I think the last Spurs player who could was Gary Lineker.

Sorry but you've completely lost me now, I was talking about Benteke and how "some" of our fans are never happy with who we are linked with, now you're going on about wide forwards with no pace, Ade, and some strange jargon about "playing our placement". Time to go and watch the boxing I think :blackeye:.

Placement was a predictive text that I can't even workout :)

Wide forward with no pace is just to illustrate my point!
