i think in the current state of the team.. Zok is of more use.. However after this transfer window.. I imagine hell become a second choice and Hudd will be a second choice.. (hopefully hell becoem first choice in another season or so

This is a tricky one in my view as both players bring different qualities to the team. For a bit of fun - I have come up with a crap Football Manager style rating system to rate them against each other!

Out of 10:
Attribute ------------ Zokora The Hudd

Speed ----------------- 7 ------- 4
Passing ----------------7 -------- 9
Shooting -------------- 1 -------- 8
Determination ----------8 -------- 5
Vision ----------------- 5 -------- 8
Tackling --------------- 7 ------- 5
Creativity --------------4 -------- 8
Dribbling --------------- 7 -------- 3
Strength --------------- 7 -------- 7
Work Rate -------------- 9 -------- 6
First Touch ------------- 5 -------- 7

Overall ----------------- 67 ------- 70

The Hudd just shades it for me!

For all his running, I still think Zokora is rubbish. The stats say it all really.. all he's doing is running around. Our defence has always been rubbish since we signed him because there's no protection and whether you admit it or not, the opposition ALWAYS get chances because of it.

I'll take the Hudd any day. Hope he stays.

Really hope Hudd stays, good passer, and lots and lots of potential. Although, in a five man midfield, both would be better, as would have defined roles. A midfield with those two and Modric would be really exciting to watch and Zokora could just cover round and sweep up.

I tend to agree with joey. Although Zokora has improved, and I've found myself in the surprising position of defending him against the sillier 'criticisms', I'm simply not convinced that he's good enough, or ever going to be. Yes, he's been Ramos' first choice for the role, but I suspect that's because in Ramos' view that's because he's the least worst option at the moment.

Interesting thread.
Its a shame we can't measure leadership - one of the most significant traits required.
When the going is good they both have something to offer - DZ's energy and getting about the pitch; maybe not in the most focused or productive manner, but in a Fruend way which does have some impact. TH again when it's going well his passes reach their target, his head come up and he moves the ball around well - I always wonder about him as an athlete though.

When the going ain't so good, in the face of a challenge they both sucome, they both shrink, passes go astray, tackles become clumsy, shot woeful.

Somewhere in a hybrid would be an excellent specimen, but would it be a leader??

If I had to choose I would just about take Hudd I think.

Top post Joey

I've never been a Zokora fan and I never will be. Cannot tie Carrick's laces or Diarra's or Hargreaves or countless other's I could mention. Not good enough to challenge top 4 in the league each wee. Very good squad player and covers very well at the back when needed in Central Defence.

The Hudd could become a top player, hopefully he'll keep working and improving or maybe he'll just end up strolling around like he did for the last 25 mins v Liverpool.
