Everyone has blamed the leak of Ramos's meeting with our representatives but before all that even happened we had lost 0-1 to SUNDERLAND and 1-3 at home to Everton. Were there problems before this press intrusion? What have been the causes of our demise this season and what the hell will Ramos bring to us that Jol couldnt?

I appreciate that after learning their managers job was to be replaced by their chairman the players attitudes could have changed but what do u all think?

Whats done is done. Whilst we all loved BMJ (and he loved us ) it is time to move on. Ramos will instill some more attacking urgency in us and improve fitness levels in players like Hudd, who at the moment is looking way below par on that front. Hopefully this will stop us giving away 1-0 leads and learning that a match usually lasts 95 minutes not 90 :bang:

I luvd MJ, great character, good with the press but when it came to his team selection, tactics he clearly lacted both experience at Premier League level. Hopefully JR can bring some of the success he has already had to Spurs, he truely is in the same leuge as Wenger and Benitez. I also feel some of the bigger players did not respect MJ, mayb due to his lack of experience. Even us fans already know JR has a reputaion of playing as a team and not individuals so he wont take any crap or play "favourites" instead of best man for the position.

Well if its a conspiracy, then they lost. Sammy lee was first

And they probably said Jol, cos he was expected to get Top 4, by some of us, and certainly the media.

yeah they defintaly got caught out. judging by pre season it was crazy to suggest he'd be first for the chop, thats why its all a bit suspect.

wasn't jose the 1st to go though?

It goes far deeper than this season...40 games with only three clean sheets goes well into last season. Add that to only one win against any of the top 4 in three years, add that to his unwillingness to give Taraabt and Boateng a chance yet Kaboul gets one of the most important positions (yes I know LK is injured but can you see Rocha making the kind of mistakes he has? And yes I know that Rocha is now injured too!). When the chips are down Wenger and Fergie will make changes that make a difference....MJ brings in Tainio and thinks that will change things.
Overall MJ did a great job but I think last years 5th place only served to cover the cracks and nothing was done to address them, I was over the moon we made 5th but it was equally down to the other teams poor form as much as our late run with a fit LK.
I wish MJ well....but what was he doing last Saturday at Southend United??
Good Luck Martin and thank you.........even more luck to Juande.

There's a very good reason Taarabt has had limited opportunities, and Boateng still appears to be recovering from a knee op. Jol has used Tainio because he's had little option. He's had little option but to play Kaboul, either; as of this moment he and Dawson are our only functioning CBs.

Last season we were plagued by injuries and the squad was no stronger than it had been in 2005-2006. Over the last twelve games we took 27 points, equalling our best-ever finish to a season since WWII—1950-51.

But you're right. Nothing was done to address the problems that had become apparent.
