I think we need to make a statement signing, this guys pace, pass and move style could work wonders playing at Wembley next season, looks to have the ability to change a game from the bench when teams have tired legs.
We paid a whack for Sissoko so I don't think £35m is out of the question.
It also shows intent to our current crop of players too, 1 statement signing and as you say a mix of youth high potential signings.
I doubt £35m would be enough to get him.

Levy said to the trust last year that £15m-£20m were the region of signings that we were comfortable with. Then we spent more on Sissoko only to see another big money failure.

So unles Poch has convinced Levy to sell Walker and reinvest the money on one statement signing somone like Lemar is highly unlikely.

I'm not convinced that Sissoko actually was 30m, despite that number being used by the media.

I agree with you that this is what we need, I've just lived through countless windows where names like this crop up at the start of the window and by August they've all signed for other clubs who can offer bigger wages. So I feel I'm just being realistic.

As Poch has always said, we need to be clever in the window. Flush out the buyers, play the game and see who we can get within our wage structure. It takes time to do that, we won't complete big deals early.

This sort of player from a club like Monaco will always go for £35m at least. Look at Bernardo Silva and Martial, both insane fees.

It's extremely unlikely we'll do any business at that level.

If we sell Walker then maybe. However, wages will always be an issue at the top level of the market and we'd need a replacement for Kyle, too.

I think signings like Sessegnon, and players from Holland and France are much more where we are.
We'd agreed a very sensible fee with Monaco for Martial but then there was some funny business when United got involved.

Wages
Goodnight.

Well, it looks like Lemar is currently earning a paltry 2.8k a week salary...I mean, even a 60k a week deal is 20 times more than what he is earning now...Am sure other teams may be ready to give more than us. In PL, its tough to see which other club would give him the starting spot. Atleast with us, he will compete with likes of Son week in week out.

Surely if that is the fee needed everyone will be all over him, Poch gonna have to convince the lad to join us over the likes of Juve

If true we have to get this done asap. We can't haggle in the current market and especially when the other big boys start spending too and drive the prices up.

Him or Douglas Costa would be a great bit of business for that kind of price

Refuse to get my hopes up on transfers like this anymore. We've been burned far too many times.
I agree but this summer there seems to be a diffierence of class linked and i think were gonna finally break that duck. This is what we need and i for once think were gonna get it done. Maybe not Lemar but that type of class
