Poch seems to be losing his shit with the media nowadays, he used to have a giggle with them. All is not right at the moment.

Because, after 3 seasons of doing fantastically well. He hits a bump, loses 3 games and the uber negative English press circle like vultures.

I felt that Poch tinkered against Watford and then Liverpool when a settled 4231 would have done the job.

I'm not worried... yet. Brighton is a must win game I feel.

I've been so angry for the last two hours I couldn't even bring myself to watch the Liverpool game. How the hell did we lose tonight? We were in complete control until they equalised. Enough has been said about the substitutions etc in the other threads so I'm not going to get into that again. At the moment it feels like we can't do anything right, it feels like there's a long dark period coming and that the good times are over.

And then...I realised why it hurts so bad. This is the first time we've lost three in a row under Poch. And in fact, we used to lose three in a row at least once pretty much every season before Poch. I was wondering when the last time was, so I imagine some of you are. So here it is, back under Sherwood in 2014:

Chelsea 4-0 Tottenham
Tottenham 1-3 Benfica
Tottenham 0-1 Arsenal

Resultswise, he'd actually had a fairly good start to his Tottenham career, but this was where it all fell apart. That meltdown interview where he called the players out after the Chelsea game. His touchline shenanigans with Benfica's manager. And then the Arsenal defeat effectively had us out of the CL race.

Before that it also happened to AVB a year earlier:

Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham
Inter 4-1 Tottenham
Tottenham 0-1 Fulham

Similar set of teams to our current run. We'd been on a really good run of form going into this and were winning at Anfield before we made some horrendous defensive mistakes to let them take the points. You could argue that Inter wasn't a defeat as we won the game on aggregate, but it was a shocking performance and the fact that they took us to extra time when we had a three goal head start was awful. That extra time meant we flopped against Fulham, who of course beat us with Dimitar fucking Berbatov scoring against us at the Lane. Had we even drawn that match we'd have got Champions League football and AVB may have saved his job...

A year earlier, and guess what...it happened to Redknapp...

Tottenham 1-2 Norwich
Tottenham 1-5 Chelsea
QPR 1-0 Tottenham

These were arguably the most painful three. Watching Ledley get ripped to pieces by Grant Holt put it beyond all reasonable doubt that his career was over. Then that horrific capitulation against Chelsea that I don't even want to talk about. QPR looked like they were about to get relegated, surely we'd turn it around against them? Oh no, Adel Taraabt, that outcast we'd binned scored a free-kick against us and we lost. Again, we missed out on Champions League football by a single point and Redknapp also lost his job.

What's worrying is that there appears to be a clear trend here, when our managers lose three in a row they don't tend to stay in a job for much longer afterwards. Poch has never really had the kind of criticism he's having now because whenever we've lost a game we've usually turned it around in the next game or two. Here we appear to be in a prolonged run of bad form. It does concern me is that the only time he's been in a situation like this it ended up with him leaving Espanyol. I think we all hope he can turn things around, but for the first time since he's been here I've started to wonder what this might mean.

Maybe we just need to take a step back. To have gone four years without losing three in a row when it used to happen pretty much every year without fail means that perhaps we've been spoilt a bit lately. Still. It huaren't what got him sacked, he lasted ararwsarts. It fucking hurts.

Oh, and in case you're wondering. the last time we lost four in a row was in 2003 under Hoddle:

Man Utd 2-0 Tottenham
Middlesbrough 5-1 Tottenham
Tottenham 0-4 Blackburn
Birmingham 1-0 Tottenham

Needless to say, he didn't keep his job much longer after that.

Good night all. Hopefully we all feel better in the morning.

Sherwoods 3 matches was in March but he was never going to get the job full time, and we had quite a few bad results.

the AVB results 3 loses wasn't the season he got the boot, he lasted nearly half a season the following season. big loses to Man C, and Liverpool not helped playing to very good teams with most of the match with 10 men loses in London derbies.

Redknapp lost his job for taking his eye off the ball, when he thought he had the chance to manage England. those games we lost was a lot closer to the end of him managing for us, but not the reason why so doubt Pochettino's job is in danger due to these 3 games, especially when Levy knows not buying at least the midfield cover has been a disaster, with a knackered looking middle.

The minute money became the biggest factor in football, all morals and dignity went out the window. I remember Man City & Chelsea being clubs of mediocrity at their best, with their best days far behind them & watching them cling on to the threads of their history like we do now. Now they have an arrogance of belief that they should be realistically challenging for every top honour year in, year out - All we have is hope that they have an off season and we nick a CL place. Would I swap their finances for ours regardless? Yep without hesitation.

to be honest Chelsea where only struggling financially, they where still competing before Abramovic took over. they did pretty well with Harding at the helm, just become a force instead of bankrupt under the Russian

Not sure this is the beginning of the end for Poch.

Really disappointed in the results but also the manner.

Just so naive in the way we gave up leads against Watford and Inter.

Thought one of the benefits of keeping the team together as we’d have a strong unit and work as a team to see games out.

with Watford I think it was more of Watford changing their tat tics back to bullies that turned the game around, when really we wasn't playing well enough to even deserve the 1-0 lead. last night a wonder goal (that Vertonghen could of blocked) which all lead back to the changes we made, which in my onions was that invited them on to us which meant we was going to concede chances

I remember the days before Harding - When Bates bought them for a £1 - Remember when they were nearly relegated to the old 3rd division.

I wish it was that simple, i just cant imagine there are many out there that are willing to do what the owners at psg, city and chelsea have done.

I think the frustrating thing is, under Redknapp and now poch, we had excellent sides. It didnt need billions pouring in. Just a few tweaks and it never happened. So sad.
I’d settle for a Liverpool type owner, clearly like ENIC would want a return on his investment but at least has the sense to back the manager and the ambition to win trophies, Liverpool have done a great job last couple of years.

Why are you comparing us to Liverpool? Have they spent 1billion+ on a one of the best stadiums and training grounds in the world? Important infrastructure upgrades that will ensure we will be competitive with the elite sides for the foreseeable future.

In the close season yet again media didnt stop about Poch not putting up with this and could move etc... every day, it was even mentioned again yesterday. For the last 4 years Poch has had the media telling him we are going to sell our best players or more annoyingly them telling us other teams are going to take them.

Media have jumped all over the stadium not being ready, us playing in MK, us playing at Wembley and so it goes on.

Hes had a few bad results and we've not started well im not surprised hes finally blown.

I think part of the reason why it hurts so much has been touched on, we just aren’t used to it any more.

I’d take a win or a draw to stop the rot at the weekend.

Man City have now lost four consecutive games in the Champions League, becoming the first English club to ever do so.

Pep has to go.

Players now leaking to the press (The Times) that they’re exhausted and mentally fatigued.

Fuck the World Cup.

How did the club not see this coming and bring in any new faces.

Nope. It’s matt Hughes, who only writes unsubstantiated negative articles about us who is saying it. Check his history, he never has a single positive thing to say about us. I suspect this is further made up troublemaking by him.

Newspapers like the Times don't print unsubstantiated stories.

Just because you don't like the content it doesn't mean it's not true.
