... is what I'll be seeing. Jol for Getafe, Allen for Blackburn tomorrow and likely Ramos for Blackpool on Wednesday. Easily beating the Pleat/Santini/Jol sequence by months!

Also worth noting that Alex Ferguson will be greeting his 13th Tottenham manager when he brings United here in February, while Wenger will see his 7th in December.

Please note: change does not equal progress,

Ferguson and Wenger have won about 30 trophies between them.
I really liked BMJ but I honestly believe that we had gone as far
as we were going under him. We lost nearly all the big games under him. I think he was almost too close to Spurs. I think (hope) Ramos could be the man. No baggage, he might believe we can win the big games.

Incredible but true, we must look like a joke team in comparison to others, sad very sad indeed.

To save you the pain of this I'll take your ticket to the Blackburn game.

Mind you, I wouldn't do this for just anybody.

It's sad it's all happened like this, but Jol had to go.

I thought this and said so on here after the Arsenal game, but didn't push it or get involved in all the Jol/Levy/Commoli stuff by and large, because I genuinely wasn't sure what was for the best. I'm only a mug punter, I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, though thanks to the web one gets more of an idea than in previous decades. In the end I can only judge on results and performances.

Sometimes change is necessary, we needed a wholesale change, it's happened, let events take their course, but I say here and now I back the decision to bring in Ramos, however it was handled, I think it's the right decision.

"Change does not equal progress" is very well illustrated in Norway at the moment as well as here. Brann just won the league there, and their coach is now the longest serving coach in the top division (and still only 4 seasons in!).

But this time I do believe the change was necessary. My dad kept saying over the summer that he thought Jol had taken us as far as he was capable of doing, and I think with this start of the season, all things taken into account, that he was right.
Jol took us a long way, but his inability to win big games and (seeming) inability to handle the pressure of "needing" a top 4 finish proved that he just wasn't quite there.

Now the one thing I am looking forward to is the goalie coach change. After seeing Robbo (and Cerny) this season I can't say I believe Segars did a very good job with them...

Change can equal progress if you hire the right man. United and Arsenal hired the right men, we're still searching (maybe)
