Ticketing Debacle Last Night

Did anyone else get screwed over trying to enter the stadium? I am a season ticket holder and came with my card as I usually do, however the barcodes wouldn't scan. I went to the ticket office to find to my horror that there were literally thousands and thousands of people queueing to rectify similar issues. In the end by the time I got to the front I missed the entire first half. All those times of watching utter shit at Wembley and the one big night when we finally get a big result and we're all stuck outside. The second half was fun and all but when I met my friends in the pub outside I wasn't buzzing anywhere near the way they were.

I get that there can be technical faults sometimes but this was ridiculous. It's not a technical fault to not have a human being on any of the turnstiles if there are issues like this. It's not a technical fault to not open the East Ticket Office for anyone other than VIPs.

Wonder how I can complain to the club about this. Expect all I'll get back is an email saying "sincere apologies, thank you for your support blah blah blah..."

There should be some type of refund from Wembley, there wont be obviously, but there should be.

It's definitely worth complaining. If the fault is with Wembley, the club is likely to come down on them hard. The club try to do things properly and don't like it at all when suppliers let them down. Start with our own ticket office.

I sit near the away fans and got an email on the day saying we had to enter elsewhere which I didn't quite understand. I got in fine though sorry you got so badly screwed over.

The three games thus far have been ok (irrespective of two bad results and one great one), just not very enjoyable. It all seems a bit unnatural and I can't wait for next season already. I really miss (almost) everything about N17.

Should be a free ticket to the first game of the knockout stages if we get there.

I'm going to predict that will not happen.

It is a bit of a joke though. Between them Wembley and Spurs should easily be able to get people in and out of a stadium and I hope they've got this sorted for the Real game (which will presumably be a sell-out).

I imagine they will invoke the advice that people should have turned up an hour before kick off to ensure they got in. In reality they should at least refund you for the 45 minutes you missed or at least provide a good will gesture. I had to go to a different entrance yesterday and asked steward for advice. He was completely clueless...

Given the length of the queue that I saw at the ticket office only five minutes before kickoff, I'm wouldn't be surprised if some people missed the entire match.

I was only going off what the OP said. It's pretty poor if that was the case. What were the ticket office doing about it, did they reissue tickets or advise how to get in?

I heard people saying they were getting turned away and waiting an hour at the ticket office. Thank god my access card worked as I already missed first 5 mins thanks to the ridiculous queues. No wonder the attendance was so low.

I had to scan my card about 6 or 7 times but it eventually worked, I just thought I had too much burger sauce smeared over it, but by the sound of it I was lucky to get in.

it was an absolute mess last night. I didn't get in until midway through the first half, and no-one could explain what the hell was going on. at one point I thought it was all going to kick off, as everyone got more and more frustrated

my gate was closed, and no-one thought to put up any signs letting us know. it wasted so much time. I've just seen that the club sent me a rather badly-worded email yesterday saying:

Due to the away allocation for this fixture it has meant a reconfiguration of entrances for certain blocks along the South Stand of Wembley Stadium for tonight's fixture against Borussia Dortmund.

We are contacting you to advise that your ticket will gain you entry at any of the following turnstiles:

N
M
J

Even if I had seen that before going, I still wouldn't have had a clue that it meant my gate was closed.

Note that if you are a ST holder in Level 5 and have bought a ticket for the Barnsley match next Tuesday, your stadium access card won't work. You have to print the ticket that you were sent by email. The instructions on the site at the point of booking an on the confirmation email were contradictory, so I checked with the ticket office myself last week. This is how they replied:
Please use the eticket that has been sent to you as Level 5 is not open for the match and therefore your card will not be activated for this fixture.

Just to raise a different issue I faced was they sold duplicate tickets in our row.

I questioned why my wife and son had not received there email notifications through the day before which I got told dont worry just use your card. I thought I best print off my original purchase information with seats on and good job. Five seats in our row had people with duplicate tickets. Luckily there was plenty of seats available but I have emailed the club questioning whether this will happen for the other CL games.

Disgusting

Not the first time and sadly won't be the last. We are just the peasants trying to get in to watch our beloved Spurs

Contact the club and the THFC trust. The club usually will act on things like this. Altnoufh with so much going on at the moment I can understand them being swamped atm.

You can complain all you like, but the club have already got your season ticket money, they won't give a shit about any issues.

20,000 FC Koln fans managed to get into the wrong section of the Emirates last night. Whereas actual Spurs fans with valid tickets couldn't get into the ground.

Kickoff at the Emirates was delayed by an hour, why couldn't the same have been done at Wembley? Attendance was 67k, I'm not sure if there were the full 13k fans outside but it wasn't an insignificant number.

Here's a picture of the queue below. You can't even see the front and as it's daylight in the picture I can tell you it got much much worse than this.
