From one rip off merchant to another.
This is considerably better than StubHub

The headline points to note regarding this system are:

- Tickets will be listed for sale at face value.

- Season Ticket Holders will recoup 1/19th of the cost of their Season Ticket when their seat is sold for a Premier League fixture.

- Season Ticket Holders will be able to select whether they receive the rebate for sold tickets in the form of a monthly payment or have the funds held to be used as payment against the cost of their Season Ticket for the 2018-19 season.

- Season Ticket Holders will not pay any fees for listing or selling their season tickets for sale.

- Purchasers will pay a single fixed £7.50 fee when purchasing a match ticket via Ticket Exchange.

- While season tickets can be listed well in advance of matches, the Club will determine when the Ticket Exchange sales will be made available for each fixture.

This is exactly the same as pre-Stubhub and there was nothing wrong with it before. I can only assume that Stubhub was cheaper for the club as there's no other justification for having switched to them in the first place.

Isn't that the aim of all businesses?
No the whole point of the ticket system is that if you can't go you give the opportunity to other fans, who otherwise would not have been able to go, its not about making money of fellow Spurs fans who can't get a ticket. the whole Stubhub thing was a disgrace. Glad we are back to normal now.

Your grievance should be with Tottenham, not StubHub

Last ever season at WHL, reduced capacity & the team doing well all of a sudden EVERYONE wants to go. Plenty of tickets were to be had under FV on stub the 2 seasons previous, were you lot bitching then? Simple economics of demand outstripping supply.....

Plenty have been offered ST now yet have turned down opportunity, why? If you're so desperate to go and were offered a ticket then take the bloody option up! Us ST holders were not given any option to defer!

It may be simple economics, but that doesn't necessarily make it fair.

In fact, this is a clear example of a commodity where the market isn't able to set a fair price. It is a scarce resource that is controlled by a monopoly. There is no mechanism for supply to match demand (in the short term).

The main reason it is unfair is that it allows people (season ticket holders) to profit at the expense of other people (fans without season tickets) without earning it or providing something in return. It is an almost medieval system where some people get money while others pay solely because of a status they are assigned.

The season ticket system was never meant to work like this, and it is good that it's being stopped.

My dad and I have been going halves on a season ticket for years now and last season, due to him being away a lot and me having a really busy year with work, there were quite a few games we didn't make. One of those games was Chelsea and I could have named a price but I listed it so that we received face value for the seat. All the others we listed I put on so that the buyer paid face value. I don't think taking the piss out of fellow fans is a good thing to do.

Aside from the pisstakers, the major issue with Stubhub was the charging of both the buyer and the seller for the same transaction.

While I dislike Ticketbastard, the new (old) system is much better.

Sounds really good. Having paid more than I wanted for a season ticket and often not able to go to matches not on a Saturday this sounds like I have a chance of selling my Club Wembley seats and recouping some costs
